Sunday Post #61 Baby It's Cold Outside

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's Monday! What Are You Reading is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.

Yes it's cold outside. Temps dipping into the 40's at night, although the days haven't been too bad... fall is definitely in the air though and I'm loving it. Orchards, pumpkins, cider and donuts... cool nights with a harvest moon, and bonfires. I'm enjoying all of it.

This was a mixed week but I did finish Divergent, and jumped right into Insurgent. Will I finally find out what's outside the fence? Hopefully.

So how was your week

CURRENTLY READING:

Insurgent (Divergent, #2)

    1. I am a little early again this week... thank you for stopping by. I was surprised I got a few things out as I hardly spent any time in the blogosphere this week...

I want to comment on your blog but I'm not on google + and it won't let me... I really should upgrade I guess. I like visiting your site and feel bad I can't leave a comment.

      Have a terrific weekend.

Thanks for the video link, I liked that although I know it's a little early for Christmas. What have i done? :)

    2. Greg and Red Iza, I've been seeing mixed reviews of Blackbird. I saw one good review and one bad. Might give things a bit to shake out as the blurb does interest me.

  3. It finally cooled off here too (a half a week after our new a/c was installed, figures). We just went to an apple festival today and picked about 11 pounds of apples. Good sleeping weather. Good apple picking weather. Just good weather, period. I'm looking forward to reading your review of Divergent. I've got Insurgent and Allegiant waiting on me. I just haven't gotten around to them yet.

  4. Enjoy your cool weather! We are having our worst heat wave since Memorial Day and it was triple digits where I live :( I don't like extreme heat or cold; I guess nothing pleases me.
I read Divergent but not Insurgent. I hope you get a chance to review it when you're done. I need to know if it continues on well. Thanks.

    1. Yikes, triple digits. I would not be happy, I like it warm but not that warm! Hope it cools off for you a bit soon.

I will definetly review Insurgent as wel as the last book, I'm enjoying the series and looking forward to putting my thoughts down on each book as I finish. Have a great weekend Rita.

  7. Blackbird seems creepy for me :|
I see that you really enjoy Divergent series. I've been keeping them in mind after all the hype with the movie.
Hope you'll enjoy your week, Greg.

    1. Blackbird sounds fun to me, with the whole "on the run" angle. We'll see how it turns out, I've heard a few mixed things.

I put off reading Divergent for the longest time, and wasn't really sure I was going to, but the movie sealed the deal for me. After seeing it I wanted to get the rest of the story...

  8. I haven't bought Four yet but I have read 2 of the stories from it. I really like Tobias though, he is one of my favourite book characters so I need to get the full collection soon.
Blackbird would be a fun Halloween read :) Enjoy your books and have a great week.

    1. I liked his character too, based almost solely on the movie, and then read the book and thought he was good there too. So I'm curious to see how things are different from his angle...it's kinda nice to have the same story from a diffrent perspective, and I think at least part of Four is that.

  9. I love the Divergent series! Allegiant is absolutely mind-blowing and awesome, and I was really impressed with the Four novellas. It was so interesting seeing him all young and trembling. XD N'awww. I have yet to watch the Captain America movie, but gee, I need to get onto that. I didn't even see Guardians of the Galaxy when it was in cinemas, so I really am behind on the marvel universe. >_< My Sunday Post!

    1. I'm liking it too. I've heard mixed things about Allegiant, so it's nice to see your enthusiastic reaction to it. I know something big happens. :)

I think you'll like Cap when you see it, it was pretty good.

  10. We're having a really mild fall so far, the weather has been surprisingly warm this last week. I hope it get's a bit colder soon, I always love the colours of the trees in fall. I did try my first fall themed recipe this week, I made pumpkin risotto and it turned out really well. Although my boyfriend had some trouble slaughtering the pumpkin, as our knifes weren't sharp enough to eaisly cut through it.
I hope you have a great week and enjoy your new books and movies!

    1. That sounds good, and I got a chuckle out of your pumpkin comment. It can be a little tough to to get through those! Glad it worked out good... :) I love fall too, and especially the colors. We haven't started turning yet but it shouldn't be long, then it will REALLY feel like autumn.

  11. Lows in the 40s! We were complaining because our lows are in the 60s all of a sudden! Sounds like you're using the cold weather correctly though! I hope you enjoy Insurgent and I've heard great things about the movie Divergent. Have a great week!

  12. I picked apples and bought cider this week. Our place doesn't do donuts to go along with the cider. Weird because it's a common thing and they have a whole bakery with pies and everything.

  13. Yep, we had those lows too. We are taking our daughter and son to the pumpkin festival today. Should be fun!

  14. Loved the video!! I am so happy that the lows are in the 40s. Feels good. I will miss my flowers an garden but I am ready for cooler temps and sweatshirts. Can't wait to see what you think of Catwoman!

  15. 40s at night? Brrrrrrrr But I am ready for fall - apples, cocoa, cider, the changing leaves, sweaters, fairs. Enjoy your week!

  16. The cool weather arrived too soon for me! Hopefully, the sun will warm it up a bit during the day. Enjoy Insurgent.

  17. It's starting to feel like fall here too. For the first time in months it was too chilly for shorts and I wore jeans. I love this time of year :)

Hope you have a great week!

  18. I think Blackbird sounds good, hope you think so. Fall in the US sounds so much fun, I wish Aussie's got more into Halloween, my eldest son is a Halloween baby. Last year in stores they actually stocked Halloween pumpkins to carve ... they were $30 - $40 each ... EEK that just wasn't going to happen. Are they cheaper there? Have a great week and happy reading :)

    1. I'd love to carve a pumpkin for Halloween but I'm certainly not going to pay that for the privilege lol ... might have to grow my own giant pumpkin HA. Costumes we can pick up cheaply!

  20. There are lovely things about fall to look forward to. But it doesn't need to get too cold too soon.
I may have to go back and listen to Insurgent again before listening to Allegiant which I plan to pick up in a week with my Audible credits this month.
Just watched Catching Fire this week - I thought it was pretty good. Also saw Pacific Rim which reminded me of a few sci fi books I have read/listened to recently.
I hope you enjoy your week.

Thank you for stopping by MArtha- you have a great week also.

  21. You are going into Autumn and we are going into Spring, so no wonder that Sheree had to pay so much for a pumpkin out of season!
I enjoyed the Divergent series but in the end was a little disappointed with the final book!

    1. That's true, i keep forgetting that- makes sense why they're so expensive. It would be interesting to celebrate that in spring since (at least over here) it's so associated with fall and harvest and all that.

I've heard that about the final book, so I'm a little nervous going into it- how will it play out? I've already heard spoilers so I know about that... guess I'll just have to see how it goes. I have a lot of questions about this world so I hope she answers some of them! :)

  22. It's been cool here too and we'll be putting the heat on by the end of the month I think. I hope you enjoy Insurgent, I wasn't a huge fan of Divergent but I am curious about the next book.

    1. So far Insurgent reads a lot like Divergent- but I'm not very far along yet. For the longest time I wasn't even going to read this series, but I'm in it now and will go all the way I guess. I'm enjoying it and it reads fairly quickly so we'll see. Have a great week Deb!

  25. We're enjoying those same cool temps here. I made a big batch of soup, we visited an apple orchard, and pumpkins will be coming soon. I'm even reading a scary book! Hope you have a great week, Greg.

Also, have you tried the relaunched Aquaman (The Trench?)

    1. I haven't read Catwoman in a while, but thought this one looked good. I'm kinda thinking of trying them again... and I have not tried Aquaman yet. I generally like the undersea adventures too, so I probably should get on that series. /
