Sunday Post #502

This was a nice week. I did a lot of writing this week- and I now have TWO stories going. Camping of course is my new one- I posted Chapter 3 this week and will probably post a chapter a week. The other one is my Haven series, which is a little haphazard as I'm just writing them but not in order- I really need to get that organized. If you want to know what that is about the first two (from a couple years back) are here and here. And this week Movies That Suck reappeared.

In other news below I rant some. And last week's lyric was HARD. I don't think anyone guessed it.

16 Things Only Valley Girls Would Understand | Boredom: the worst thing that could ever happen to you.

Here is this week's lyric.

You see, you don't have to live

Here is the lyric f/ last week and the answer

Lord, oh yeah
When you need a friend

   Song of the week

PULP COVER OF THE WEEK:

I want to highlight some art that just screams to be a story. Some of the art from Youtube ambient channels is awesome. Here's my first one.

So here's a rant  about S2 of Welcome to Eden. What a ride? And what a completely frustrating end. Complete cliffhanger- nothing resolved. It should be against the law to end a season like that. I've seen some cliffhanger endings before but this is the absolute. Worst.

For one thing so many things are in play and NOTHING gets resolved. And the cruelty porn is off the charts. Honestly, I need the good guys to get a win SOMETIMES. It's almost depressing. I binged it though, too, so maybe I just overloaded myself?

Some musings.

The scenery is beautiful. And the island is HUGE. I mean, when they escape or are hiding there are plenty of places.

SPOILERS

Very inconsistent. Sometimes the place is practically locked down but then people just gallivant all over the island.

Zoa and her sister have to be careful but then they argue and embrace in front of everybody.

How'd they get Nico's body all the way out

"He went diving" :)

Zoa was a huge focus in S1 but here they practically never talk to her.,

Nico tells Bel and Zoa to stay away from each other, then watches them become besties

Why doesn't anybody fight when they're to be executed?

No one is really good here. The only ones I really like are Zoa, Bel, Mayka and Charly.

Why the fuck did Africa save Astrid?

  1. You stumped me again this week. I am not familiar with Welcome to Eden, butI would definitely be frustrated if nothing was resolved by the end of the season

  2. Oh, I was so stumped on that one..I will try to be better next time. Thanks for the great review on this series too. Oh, you did make me smile. Yes, I have feelings like that for some of the dramas I watch too. I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Kind of chilly and damp here with a north wind. & my weekend at the library....

On Taxi Driver: Most definitely! It has a lot of action. I think you can catch the first season on Netflix.

  3. I have such trust issues with series these days. They either seem overly convoluted, don't answer a damn thing or get canceled.

We just finished Mandalorian and meh. Some good, some great, some boring eps lol I a not a big SW fan though so take that with a grain of salt.

  6. I don't know the show you're ranting about, but those are some legitimate gripes! Surprised you stuck with it. And good for you and making time for more writing. Have another productive week! :)

  7. I am not familiar with Welcome to Eden, but haha can't say you're exactly selling it :P Cliffhanger endings are the worst, but if the season as a whole was good, I can forgive it. But a whole season with nothing resolved and the good guys don't even get a win for a morale boost, ugh I would probably just give up on the show out of frustration.

  9. I hate it when something ends on a cliffhanger with no sequel in sight!

  10. No idea on the lyric. I hope you have a great week :)

  11. Thats too bad about your show, very frustrating with the cliffhangers. Is that image from Valley Girl? Enjoy your week!

  12. That show sounds so frustrating! I have not heard of it before this.

And awesome that you are doing so much writing!!

  13. No heard of Welcome to Eden but yes I hate cliffhangers especially these days when they seem to not mind canceling a show and leaving you hanging. I am always afraid that is what will happen to a show I like that does a cliff ending.

Have a great week and happy reading!

  17. Lol! I haven't watched Welcome to Eden, but I laughed at some of those spoilers and inconsistencies. :D Gotta love (not) when a season ends with so many unanswered questions. There's a lot of talk now about how the entire Mystery 101 movie SERIES (on the Hallmark Channel) ended on a frustrating cliffhanger. So weird. Have a great week! :)

  18. It's great you are writing. I love the idea of the song lyric guess but I am very bad at figuring it out. Yet I know all the words to lots of songs from the 70s-80s. And I don't seem to have time for any tv except the cooking shows my daughter puts on while we are getting dinner. And there is stuff I'd really like to watch!

  20. Sounds like you're doing a lot of writing - that's great! I am not :( Just scrambling to keep my head above water - and May is SUPER busy with trips and houseguests. I like the Burroughs cover!

Enjoy your books this week and good luck with the writing!

  24. I'm not familiar with that series, but I HATE cliffhangers and the rest of your complaints. I'd be ranting too! Congrats on writing more, though! Have a great week, Greg! :)

  25. Cliffhangers are the worst! My brother is still ranting about one in one of Glen Cook's books - which I haven't read because of his warning. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  26. Hope you continue to enjoy writing time. The thing about cliffhangers in TV is that they leave too many unanswered questions if the show is canceled. That is what irritates me. Mercy Street was canceled after two seasons, and it was in the middle of the Civil War conflict. These characters' storylines were left unresolved. How frustrating.

  27. Glad your writing mojo is in full swing - it's so much fun to do:)). And yes... I've pretty much stopped watching fiction series. I'm so sick of the general nastiness and violence that is the norm these days - and then there's the inevitable rhythm allll the series tend to fall into. So predictable - add to that the cliffhangar endings that, as you say, are becoming more usual, and I cannot be bothered. It's quiz shows and watching people fix up their houses for me, these days:)). Have a great week, Greg.
