Sunday Post #315

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer
Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews
It's Monday! What Are You Reading is hosted by Book Date

This was a pretty chill week, all things considered. We did have a storm go through that put 20,000 people out of power, but nothing like what Dorian did to the Atlantic areas. Hope anyone that was affected is doing okay. Other than that not a lot happening around here. I missed my Movies That Suck post this week (again!!) but I promise it'll be up next week on Thursday. Here's a hint of what's coming.

Reading rebounded for me a little this week. I need to get back with the program so I can write a review occasionally lol. I'm kinda eyeing this new show on Netflix though- The Island- that just came out, so maybe I'll be binging that this weekend.

Oh do you want to know what YA trope you are, based on your zodiac sign? I did! You can check that goodness out on Epic Reads. It turns out that I'm a Chosen One!

  1. I love the phone box picture! The red against all the grey is so striking. So glad to hear your reading rebounded! It's always so annoying when my reading is off. Have a great week!

  2. Oh those are some gorgeous horizon shots of alien skies...makes me wish sometimes that we had more than just our singular moon :D And I also really liked the one with the giant manta rays, though I kinda feel nervous for the swimmer there :D

  3. Crazy cool planet art Greg!! And I'm glad the storm in your area didn't do you harm. It's been crazy weather in the US lately. I need to check out that quiz... I'm honestly probably the chosen one too!

  4. Glad the storm didn't particularly affect your area!

Sagittarius people survive the Hunger Games? Erm, whoever came up with that, you have the wrong one. I have a strong temperament, but it doesn't translate well IRL...

Out of Service made me think of Doctor Who - because of course. I'm only mildly obsessed 🙄 😂.

  5. Oooh Logan's Run?? That will be an awesome Movies that Suck😁

  6. Are you talking about The I-Land where they have their memories wiped and it's sort of hunger games like? i totally want to watch it, but currently I'm binging Unbelievable and being outraged. The usual really.

  7. Have a nice weekend and happy reading!

  8. I just saw a trailer for that show on Netflix! We'll probably start watching it soon.

  9. So, apparently, I am secretly heir to the throne (according to my zodiac sign). I like that. That's terrible about the storm. Was it Thursday by any chance? I know my daughter couldn't fly home because of weather out west. Hard choices - read or binge a series. Decisions, decisions.

  10. We need the Soylent Green! 💚

Glad to hear your storm wasn't too bad, but that's still a lot of people without power. 😮

That first image is superb. 👍✨

Have a wonderful new week. 🌞

  13. Wow, glad the storm wasn't too bad.
I like the red phone booth image. Apparently I'd survive the Hunger Games since I'm a Sag. lol
    Enjoy your week!

  14. Happy to hear the storm wasn't too bad.

Apparently I will sacrifice myself for the greater good :) That trope doesn't bode too well for me :)
I think the cover of Wilder Girls is very intriguing. I don't know what it is about but for that reason alone I would pick it up.

    Have a wonderful week!

  15. Glad the storm wasn't to bad, we had a loud one with a heavy down poor but it wasn't to bad either.

My YA trope is "Think they're plain but actually beautiful" LOL

Hope you get lots of reading done and enjoy your movie that sucks!

Have a great week and happy reading,

  17. Those storms that blew through Michigan were crazy! I feel like the big storms are starting later these days, rather than midsummer they are in the fall.

I had a less than fabulous reading week too! I will have to check out the Island. :)

  18. Wow, that's a pretty big power outage. Hope it wasn't too long. The Perfect Wife looks interesting, and I like the Out of Service picture. Hope you read something good, Greg. :)

  20. Awesome picture selections this week! I love them.
That's a lot of homes to be without power! I hope it didn't last too long.
    Enjoy binge watching!

  21. Glad the storm wasn't too bad. We had a wicked storm but thankfully no power out.
I have my fingers crossed for a reading rebound, I am hoping to get to reading more.

Have a great week, Greg! Happy Reading!

  22. You can’t be The Chosen One, because I am the Chosen One! And there can only be one chosen. And that’s me! ;)

    Have a great reading week

  23. I saw an ad for Netflix's new show I-Island. It looks like it could be good. I'll give it a try. I hope you have a great week!

  24. It was a pretty chill week for me too. I had family come visit for a few days.

  25. According to Epic Reads, I would sacrifice myself for the greater good. It's a nice thought but I don't think they should hold their breath. LOL Hope you weren't among those without power!

  26. Love the art again Greg!!
I haven't heard about that Netflix show. I'll have to check it out!
Have a great week and happy reading!

  27. Oh no, losing power is the worst! I hope that didn't last too long. I'm a Chosen One too! Hurray!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Greg I see that you've become an Epic Read fan!!!! LOL

  29. Love the art again this week! I hope you get your reading mojo back soon but binging a Netflix series has its merits. I hope you have a great week!

  30. LOL! I did binge the I-Land and thought it was fantastic. Really clever idea for a series. I finished The New Girl by Daniel Silva, and worked on my Planner some, all while I suffered with this now 5 month cold. Ugh! Glad you got back into reading a little bit, but I totally understand that sometimes we have to step away. Hope you're doing well! Hugs, RO

  31. "I hate outside" - that is me, lol. I'm very much over the 90+ degree temps here- I mean, it's September already! I need to get back with the reading program, too; it's been crickets on my blog lately, lol.

  32. Hope you get a little reading in this week Chosen One and if not well it means the viewing was entertaining!

  33. I can't wait to hear what you think about The Island. It sounds interesting.

We are settling in for a couple more weeks of hot weather followed by more weeks of warm weather.

    Have a great week!

  34. I saw that Epic Reads thing---very cute. I'm the quirky best friend, so I guess I'll be your sidekick while you save the world! :-)

  35. Glad you managed to stay safe. It seems the weather gets more and more unpredictable each day. I saw The Island too and may check it out. I actually finished up Season 3 of 13 Reasons Why this weekend. It was pretty good but at times because it goes back and forth, I had a harder time following it than in the previous years. Hope you have a wonderful week Greg!

  36. Sorry to hear about the storm! But hey Glad to hear your reading rebounded! I want to watch The Island too! I had no doubt you were a Chosen One! XD

  37. It always sucks to lose power. Hope you like The Perfect Wife. I laughed out loud at the tagline on the cover of Cold Dead Coed.

  38. My trope is the villain .. but doesn't know it. We had less than ideal weather this past week but didn't ever lose power. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  39. We had our first big rain of the season, quite early. It was a nice change of pace. Power thankfully stayed on. My weekly update

  40. I did read the Angelfall trilogy last week but didn't get to anything else I had wanted to.

    I'm feeling incredibly lazy lol

  43. Glad you safe. Dorian really did a number on many, many people. We are having torrential monsoon rains in one part of the country, with flooding, and the other part of the country severe drought with not even drinking water. Paradox in this tiny country.

  44. Ooooh, are you going to watch Logan's Run? I've been meaning to re-watch that sometime soon.

  45. I love that Out of Service picture. Thanks for sharing. :)
