This week is Top Ten Characters That Remind Me of Myself. Wow... what a topic. I mean, a toughie. I'm going to go, I think, more with characters that I can relate to on some level?
Eddard Stark
Not saying I'm like Eddard Stark or anything, but just that he does some dumb things for honor, and I think looking back on my life I can see times where I made a decision that seemed right at the time, but maybe wasn't the smartest thing I could do!
Winnie-the-Pooh
Just all the food.
Murderbot
I mean, it just wants to watch cosmic Netflix all the time. I can relate!!!
Madeline
So many times I would nod or laugh out loud at something she said or did.
Lillian
She just wants to see the fairies or a world a little more exciting than our own. How many times have I wished that??
Lana and Kitty
I mean, they join a yacht crew sailing around south Asia. Who wouldn't?
Stormchaser
She questions whether the dinosaurs of Piloria should be eradicated just to clear the way for humans. I can see myself questioning the same things.
Cath
Such a relatable look at starting college/ university.
The Wayfarer crew
I related so much to the crew at times
Murderbot
I mean, it just wants to watch cosmic Netflix all the time. I can relate!!!

LOL your Pooh one cracked me up! I mean, who doesn't like food? :P
ReplyDeleteRight!
DeleteI thought this one was fun, but I don't really read thinking, character x reminds me of me. But I like what you say about relating to characters. I think maybe that's an indication that we're similar to a character... maybe! Love seeing Winnie-the-Pooh on the list; all the nostalgic childhood feels there. :)
ReplyDeleteThis was a tough topic! I didn't feel comfortable with character reminds me of me either, so I tweaked it! Relating to characters though... that's so much easier. :) And yay for Winnie!
DeleteI see nothing wrong with being like Winnie the Pooh when it comes to food. :)
ReplyDeleteLoved your post! I found it so funny! I can definitely relate with Fangirl thinking back at my first year in college. Oh and also, the food thing. Totally me.

Thanks! And Fangirl, even after college reading it, seemed so relatable!
DeleteWinnie The Pooh! Haha. I can totally relate to that one. My TTT
ReplyDeleteRight?
DeleteI seriously considered Winnie-the-Pooh, too. I really had a hard time this week because I love characters as they are written but they are obviously not as complex as a real person (me) Characters like me, a bit
ReplyDeleteExactly right. I had some trouble with this topic too :)
DeleteI could relate to that Stormchaser girl too Greg!
ReplyDeleteLet's see... dinosaurs or people. Ponders :)
DeleteGreat list, the best characters are those you can relate to, even if it's just a little thing like a love for watching cosmic Netflix, lol! I really love that about Murderbot too, it cracks me up every time the narrative goes into detail about the soaps it watches.
ReplyDelete~Mogsy @ BiblioSanctum
Ha ha right! And Murderbot... I'll admit Sanctuary Moon sounds pretty good to me!
DeleteHaha wanting to watch cosmic netflix. Yes I can see that. And yeah Ned did the 'right' thing for honor but that made him so predictable for his enemies. :(
ReplyDeleteJust imagine all the channels cosmic Netflix has!!
DeleteCath was on my list this week too. Love that Winnie the Pooh is on your list this week.
ReplyDeleteYes! The Wayfarer crew! I think the relatable characters are a good chunk of the story's appeal. 👍✨
ReplyDeleteI looked, and Better World Books has quite a few used copies of The Cats of Tanglewood Forest! The next time I order, I will buy one. 😺
Ooh nice picks! Quite a few new to me ones here, though I've got to get to The Extinction Trials! It sounds amazing!!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Winnie the Pooh cracked me up - so relateable! LOL
ReplyDeleteAll amazing picks!
It's really not an easy topic, I wouldn't know which to choose
ReplyDeleteLOL Eddard Stark! I really cannot wait for season 2 of Big Little Lies.
ReplyDeleteCath for sure. And I mean winnie the pooh too :)
ReplyDeleteI grinned at your Winnie the Pooh comments. A good meal is important!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT.
Hahaha Winnie the Pooh is such a good choice!
ReplyDeleteLOL, I've seen Winnie the Pooh on so many lists today! But true about the food, for me, too.
ReplyDeleteSome good characters here. Yep, Winnie made my list too but I altered my list a tad and chose characters I'd like to be for the day.
ReplyDeleteYour the second person I've seen to list Pooh, love that! Pooh is pretty special😁
ReplyDeleteFood and Pooh! Yes!!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT: http://bookloverspizza.com/2019/05/top-ten-tuesday-book-characters-that-remind-me-of-myself/
Great choice with Stormchaser! 😊 I definitely shared her thoughts while about getting rid of the dinosaurs so the humans could take over Piloria.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT.
I thought this topic was SO creative. I might have to go back to it later, even though I missed it. Love your responses (especially Winnie the Pooh--so funny!).
ReplyDeleteNicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
OMG I love that you included Pooh... because of all the food. Priceless, Greg! :)
ReplyDeleteYour Pooh comment cracked me up! I'm seeing lots of Fangirl today. Loved that book!
ReplyDeleteI love how candid you were about why you think you're like Eddard Stark. I think we are all guilty of that at points in our life.
ReplyDeleteHah @ Ned Stark. Seriously, I think it's something we've all done more than we care to admit.
ReplyDeleteAlso, when I read All Systems Red, I was in love with how much television he/she watched. Can you imagine being that immersed in it?
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
So many people enjoy Fangirl and I don't know what's kept me from picking it u already. Great choices!
ReplyDeleteI totally related to Cath's starting college story too!! But maybe not the part where she only ate granola bars or whatever because I NEED REAL FOOD. And I will go out of my comfort zone to get it if I have to.
ReplyDeleteHa! Murderbot...I was surprised when I first saw that one but yeah - I can see it. lol
ReplyDeleteKaren @ For What It's Worth
Great choices!! I could totally relate to Cath too haha.
ReplyDeleteI loved the way you chose your characters. I think I am like Eeyore!
ReplyDeleteWinnie the Pooh! I love it. I almost put down Piglet but then realized I was more like Rabbit and gave up the idea. haha. Cath is on my list. And Eddard should be on mine too! I don't know why I didn't think of him. Great list :)
ReplyDeleteI'm probably a bit closer to Piglet and Eeyore. :)
ReplyDeleteLauren @ Always Me
Love your choices! I've always related more to Eeyore than to Pooh, too.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun question - I should have answered it! Ooh, in Winnie the Pooh who would I be? Could be an Eeyore!
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing Cath and Pooh on this list! Here is my TTT https://paigesofbook.blogspot.com/2019/05/top-ten-tuesday-characters-that-remind.html
ReplyDeleteI think Cath is second to Hermione for making the most appearances this week. I am really impressed with this list. I didn't think of any on my own, but after seeing Eeyore on a list, I nodded my head, because he is pretty much me.
ReplyDeleteI love that you chose Winnie the Pooh as one of your characters, haha. I see someone else mentioned Eeyore, that would definitely be the character I relate to lol. I can't blame that Lillian character, that does sound nice!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely like Arya (from the show at least)...minus the murdering...
ReplyDeleteYour comment for Pooh made me smile so much! ANd so true lol
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I didn't even attempt this. The Winnie the Pooh made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteOh, Winnie the Pooh. Growing up my family always called one of my sisters Eeyore and my brother Tigger. I was definitely Rabbit.
ReplyDeleteMy problem is the characters I'm like are sometimes ones I don't like. And although I'm like them in personality, I don't know that I can "relate" to them, we don't always like the same things. So my list was a mix of, like me in personality, and like me in aspects of personality.
I love your picks! LOL to Winnie the Pooh and all of the food :)
ReplyDeleteLindy@ A Bookish Escape
I love how eclectic your list is. Murderbot is definitely relatable, and same with Winnie-the-Pooh!
ReplyDeleteCath from Fangirl made my list this week too. I love that you picked Winnie the Pooh. I had Eeyore on my list, lol.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to Murderbot too-I just want to curl up with favourite entertainment and stay away from other people!
ReplyDeleteWhat a good mix of characters to relate to. I think we all can relate to making bad decisions for the right reasons when it comes to Ned Stark. And I can definitely relate to Cath, a girl who writes fanfiction and didn't feel like she fit in when she moved to college? I got that.
ReplyDeleteI always have a rumbly in my tumbly. Pooh is my spirit animal for eating. :)
ReplyDeleteHehe the Winnie the Pooh one made me giggle!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT post!
I think I would be Pooh too lol
ReplyDeleteI am seeing Cath on a lot of lists for either the university experience or the writing side of things so I am not surprised! I totally agree about Winnie the Pooh and all the food :D
ReplyDeleteI have started the murder bot series and totally enjoyed it. I have to start book 2 soon.
