Can't Wait Wednesday #6/ Midweek Stuff

So here's a midweek round up of what I'm reading watching, etc. Plus Can't Wait Wednesday, hosted by Wishful endings. So sit back, raise a cuppa, and see what's new! And share what you're up to.

This week my Can't Wait pick is Rogue Protocol, the third book in the Murderbot Diaries.

Misc Stuff

Okay- question of the day.

You wake up alone. Everyone is gone. Your house is empty, the neighborhood is empty, near as you can tell the city is empty. What do you do?

1) Stay put
2) Search for others
3) Cry
4) More time for reading!
5) Or something else

    1. I'm about halfway through The Extinction Trials, and while it's very YA-ish I'm enjoying it. I wasn't sure at first but the pages are turning now. :)

  3. The 'Hunger Games meets Jurassic Park' thing does put me off as these were all five star books and it raises expectations to a level where I'll probably be disappointed! I do have a sample though.

    1. You know it's not nearly as good as either of those, but plot- wise it's like mashup. and it's a fine book, very YA-ish, but certainly not in the league of those. :)

  6. I did catch the return episode of Riverdale last week and don't know what to think about Betty's brother. Also, there is no way Black Hood is dead. Glad you are still enjoying Longmire and if you keep on showing The Extinction Trials, I'm gonna end up buying a copy and then it will be all your fault!

    1. Oh I do not like her brother! Bad news ha ha! And I think you're right about the Black Hood. That seemed too easy. Longmire I'm about halfway through S4. And The Extinction Trials is good- a fluffy read, nothing awesome, but I'm enjoying it!

  9. What, there's a third Murderbot book already?? If I woke up alone, first I would check to make sure my dogs were still there (just people disappeared, right?) Then I would do a happy dance for a while (I rarely get alone time) then I would probably explore.

  12. The Extinction Trials is one I'm excited for. I'll be interested to see what you think of it.

Hmm, I think I'd search for others. Although if I had food and water, I might just stay home and read. :-)

    1. The Extinction Trials isn't bad so far- it's definitely very YA but it's quite readable too.

I definitely would want to find other people!

  14. Rogue Protocol looks good.I hope you are enjoying your current reads! I have my eye on both of those.

I'd be so tempted to stay home and read. It would probably take me awhile to realize everyone's gone. I live on such a quiet street. Though, I imagine I would wonder about my husband and daughter and cat if they weren't around and I could not reach them. After awhile, I'd likely search for them at the very least and then others.

  20. I really need to watch Longmire! We are about to start watching The Alienist and I'm really looking forward to it. I loved the book (though all that I really remember about it is that I loved it) so I'm curious to see what they do with it on the screen.

    1. I think you'd like Longmire! The only thing I have is I get tired of the mystery of the week angle sometimes- I like those characters so much I want to focus on their subplots!

  22. I need to start Murderbot. I am saving it for February because the month is short, and it will then look like I read more books than I really did hahah. Riverdale... yeah, you know my feelings on that. Tonight needs to be better.

Okay, to answer your question: I'd absolutely cry for a few minutes. Actually- no, first I would call my mom, then I'd cry, especially if I couldn't get ahold of her. THEN I would probably turn on the TV, scroll through CNN, whatever, trying to figure out what is going on. Then take a drive, I suppose, see if I could scrounge up some humans. If not... back to crying, I suppose :D

    1. Dude you should read Murderbot. Seriously it's bomb. Yeah Riverdale...

Yeah that sounds about right. I mean, I would miss family... most of the time? O.o Then I'd settle into reading *joke*

  23. I totally want to check out The Murderbot Diaries. And for your question of the day, I think instinct would have me go search for others, but it would be very tempting to just stay put and read, lolol.

  24. I don´t know any of the books you are displaying. But the cover of Bad Girls With Perfect Faces by Lynn Weingarten caught my eye. Somehow the author´s name sounds familiar. I might have read her in the past. Not sure yet *smile*
Thanks for sharing and sorry for my late return visit.
