Waiting on Wednesday #9 The Winds of Winter

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week I have to go with The Winds of Winter by George RR Martin. I hate to pick a book that does not have a cover or release date yet, but I am slowly working my way through a re- read of A Dance With Dragons and I just can't help it. There are so many unresolved plotlines, so many cliffhangers it's really hard to wait! Must...know...now.

OK I know this is not an official cover, but it's out there and I needed something! If you want a sneak peek there is a sample chapter here.

What are you looking forward to in this series? Who do you love, who do you hate? Favorite characters, most shocking moments... let me know in the comments, I love to talk Game of Thrones.

What are you waiting on this week?

  1. Ah yes, Jaquen H'Gar (sp?)...love this character and hope to see him again. He was just so mysterious and intriguing and I loved his interactions with Arya! Tyrion, Dany, Arya, and Bran are still my absolute favorites! And I'm really liking Davos too. :) I've just started A Feast For Crows, so should be interesting to see how the characters' stories continue. Great WoW Pick!

  2. I can't wait for this one either! I love everything about this series, especially that fact that you just never know what is going to happen. My favourite characters are Jon Snow and Tyrion Lannister. I'm not a fan of Dany's though, and Arya's storyline is boring me -- although I have hopes that her story will get more interesting. The most shocking event? Ned Stark's death. The Red Wedding was also a huge shocker, although by that point I knew nobody was safe.

  5. Awesome pick! And don't you just hate waiting? But, I still haven't tried the series, I blame it on the size of the books as the main reason I still haven't started it, even though it's been on my tbr for years, even before I started blogging, and now with the tv series, no idea if I'll ever make myself start it ;) But, yeah, I know that lots of fans are dying for this book!
