This week's question: How do you handle a book you don't like? Do you DNF or do you power through?
I've done both. I try to finish books but if I'm not liking it, I will DNF. Time is too short to spend on something that's not working for me.
Having said that, if the book has been provided by an author/ publisher I would finish it. I think that's only fair if I've agreed to read it, but I won't post a negative review. I'll let them know it wasn't my cup of tea and thank them for the chance to read it.
How about you?

I don't like to DNF books but sometimes they end up that way. I used to feel bad then I realized many more loved it and didn't. If its a review and I can't muddle through ill be honest and never insult or hurt the author. I'm not doing FF. I stopped by to visit :)
ReplyDeleteLife is too short and there are too many books in the world to waste time. New follower :) Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteI try my best to power through the book. Sometimes I have been surprised, but only sometimes.

ReplyDeleteBrittany @ Spare Time book blog
As I've said in the other blogs, I'll DNF it for the time being, wait for a couple of days then read it again. I mean come on, every book deserves a second chance. :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by my STS
My TBR list is so long right now, I have no patience anymore for a book I don't like. I'll give it a while, but if I've made it 1/2 way and still hate it, the I'll DNF.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my FF. Followed back via bloglovin.

Interesting that you inform publishers about negative reviews. I never thought to do that -- I post both good and bad ... I can't expect to always provide a positive review, no matter the book was given for free.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by my blog! I'm following you back on GFC and bloglovin .. going to poke around some more :)
I rarely DNF, I'm far too stubborn!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my FF, I'm a new Bloglovin' and GFC follower :)
Totally agree. Reading time is my pleasure time and I am not going to torture myself to read something that I don't like.
ReplyDeleteAnd about book that is provided by publisher, if I don't like it I'll send them an email and let them know. I don't like to write a negative review too and I don't think it's fair to write a review when I don't even finish the book but DNF it. And I don't know about you but sending an email about not liking the book is so hard. I hate to break bad news to someone so it's lucky that by sending an email I don't have too see their reaction =/
Anyway thanks for stopping by and I follow back =)
