Sunday Post

What a week. My mom has a neurosurgeon appointment this week for spinal stenosis- she has to decide whether to have surgery or not. I'm still eating Thanksgiving leftovers. Well, not really, but a few days ago I was. We had so much! A good problem. I feel like my blog schedule is more or less back where I want it to be.

In other news I'm not watching anything right now, really. It seems like for a while there there were so many shows. Now I go to Netflix, and ?

This week's discussion post is Nudity- Yea or Nay

Here is this week's lyric.
Somewhere in a lonely hotel room there's a guy starting to realize
That his eternal fate has turn its back on him, it's 2 am

Here is the lyric f/ last week and the answer

Move yourself
You always live your life

   Song of the week

  1. Laminectomy lacks clinical evidence for efficacy. However, a lot of stuff just can't be proven with clinical trials.

  2. Funny you should mention Thanksgiving leftovers. We still ARE eating ours :-D I hope to have it finished off by tomorrow though.

  3. Oh..we still have a few leftovers..and I am eating just a bit every day..but I might just toss it this weekend. We have a few flurries around I am sure our King of the Squirrels is ready for the left-over pumpkin dump cake. [Recently, I saw this fellow on top of the roof just staring down at me as if he owned the place. He does expect left over popcorn and nuts from me.]
NUDITY..Yeah or Nay..I guess it depends. For a while there is seemed to be a thing of watching people go to the bathroom in movies (what was really the point?) Of course, when I started writing I kept asking myself..should I include that in this scene? Of course, we are all voyeurs to some extent in reading and watching shows. There is that genre that you always want it to be only for the pretty people. Yet, in some movies getting the real deal doesn't mean it will be pretty. Naturally, I do ask myself this question when I am writing a sex scene..which I don't go into that many details a lot on the story blogs I have. I did an early blog where it was constantly one sex scene after another. Later, I put it to draft and went back to do a reboot of the characters (actually, I have done this twice in a storyline I will confess) But the earlier one... finally something did happen between the two characters (although, it was intimate situation) both of them saw it very differently.) And I think this is the way we are as the audience too. Still, I will have to say some of the best sex scenes I've ever read were written mostly by seasoned mystery writers. I probably got way off the subject.....

All the best to your mother. I hope it goes well for her. Thanks so much for your comments. I did my best to get around to a few that I haven't written about in a while....

Yes, it can be so scary in a school situation. I have to admit I am ever so thankful that the youngster who found the gun that time under my portable was a good kid. I taught at a very gang oriented neighborhood. And a lot of times, some boys (13 year olds still in fifth grade) would check on me every afternoon and walk me to my car because of these gangs. Still, I think it is harder for those in customer service during the holidays.

Last but not least! Love that ventage cover! Although, we surely need a good rain. I'd take some snow and we might get some this weekend.

P.S..I guess I am coming down with something..but it didn't stop the margaritas from happening.

    1. You need to see Jennifer's Body..but for Colin Gray(Kyle Gellner)!

I am not feeling all that bad. I did make quite a magical drink with the coconut cream I had in the fridge (I thought it was going bad..but it's not!) and some pinapple chunks and some tequilla..wow..just wow! Of course, I usually do this maybe once a year. I really need to make some coffee liquer because that is so expensive.

    2. I hope the appointment goes well. I got a call that I have an eye appointment on Tuesday. I had hoped I would have missed it somehow, but I guess I'm glad it's happening. Although, this specialist is so peculiar. Generally, I will wait hours, just to see him for 3 minutes..I hope your mom gets what she needs. I did get out a bit this afternoon hoping I would find what I was looking for at Dollar Tree..but no, it was like the store was empty. I did manage to find something at another store for my boss' Christmas. She is leaving early for Christmas vacation..so I needed to get that done. Do you give all your co-workers gifts? I am down to only wanting to give a couple a gift this time. Honestly, it's dreadful to get gifts from some and these days, maybe it's best just to leave it alone. Honestly, those who are the most financially well off give the worst gift. It's not like I'm wanting a prized possession but a lot of times I feel I get stuff they didn't want from somebody else. What are some of your favorite gifts to give?

  7. Ah, best wishes for you and your mom around the procedure (or choosing not to). Always nerve-wracking!

I don't watch a lot of anything, but right now I've been watching a show called Taskmaster, where a few comedians are brought together to do stupid tasks of all kinds. I thought it was going to be a bit boring, but... I'm pretty hooked. I'm not usually into TV, so I'll take the relaxation time, y'know?

Hope you have a good week!

  9. We did not go too crazy with our Thanksgiving this year, and though it was still a lot of food, we finished our leftovers in good time!

  10. I think I'm actually getting kind of tired of Thanksgiving leftovers!

  11. We were away for Thanksgiving, so no Thanksgiving leftovers for us! I hope your mom makes the right decision for her. Have a good week.

  12. Goodness, that sounds like a difficult decision to make. I suppose that kind of surgery is delicate, to say the least. I hope things will go well, whatever your mum decides.

After the Rain has such a catchy cover!

Nudity...no, thanks. I'm super uncomfortable with it - some time ago I watched Sense8 because it had such a cool premise, but I hated all the naked people (there's even a full frontal of a men at one point) and the copulation...

  13. I still have leftovers, but I think it's time for them to go. Best wishes for your mom.

  14. For a while, I haven't been able to sign in blogger to comment on your blog using foxfire and safari. I finally decided to use chrome which I kind of hate, to sign in and comment. Perhaps you should have the option for readers to use url/anonymous for those who can't sign into blogger.

I think you if you're like me, sometimes you find you want to watch a lot of shows and other times, you just don't. It's what you're in the mood for.

I'm against nudity on screen, off screen, all screens. Isn't it enough to just give us hints of it? Why do people need to see a naked person to understand what's going on?

I hope your December is going well. Have a lovely day.

  15. I hope everything goes well for your mother. What in intriguing pulp cover this week. I'm not really watching anything these days either. I haven't found a series that I really want to binge yet. Hope you have a great week!

  16. Netflix has really been slacking lately. I'm like wth, you raised the price, and now nothing? Come on, Netflix, get with the program! Have a great weekend, Greg.

  17. My viewing schedule is full right now, I’ve finally started watching Heartstopper, I’m binging Hawaii 50 with my daughter, plus watching Critical Role weekly with my son.
I hope your mother comes to a satisfactory decision

Wishing you a great reading week

  18. We finished off the last of the leftovers a few days ago as well. Good luck to your mom-that is a tough decision!

  19. I hope your mother will be okay Greg! And I can't help you with TV shows as I rarely watch TV!

  20. Did you ever watch the first season of So Help Me Todd on CBS? If not, you should stream it. It's so funny! :D

  23. Good luck to your mom. My late husband had compression fractures in his back and opted for Kyphoplasty surgery to fix it and thankfully it worked.

  24. The one thing I miss most about my mom doing Thanksgiving is that I got lots of leftovers! I don't get that with my brother doing the dinner now. I hope your mom is able to figure out what will be best for her. I know it is so hard to decide whether to try something or just wait. I loved the cover of After the Rains, looks like it would be a good read! I can't remember, have you watched Good Omens yet? I just started and really enjoyed it!

  25. I hope all works out with your mom. We have finally finished the Thanksgiving leftovers so now we just wait for Christmas! You should definitely read Death in the Dark Woods (and the first book though I'm drawing a blank on the title currently) it's a mix of cryptids and cozy mystery which is fun. Have a great week!

  26. Good luck to your mom with her appointment, I hope it goes well. I ended up giving most of my TG leftovers to my parents and sister, so mine didn't last long, lol. Hope you have a good week!

  27. Good luck with the appointment, I hope that the decision process is not too awful, too. I love the cover of After the Rain, that looks like my kind of book. No, you go to Apple+ and watch For All Mankind, obviously. I am also really jealous that your leftovers lasted so long! Mine were gone in a day- this is the downside of not making your own food, I suppose heh.

  28. I hope everything goes well for your mom. We didn't do anything big for Thanksgiving so not many leftovers.

  30. I hope your Mom is doing well.
I didn't make a turkey this year or bring home any leftovers, so I'm a little jealous. Maybe I'll make one for Christmas.

  31. We had tons of leftovers too. Hope Mom continues to do well. We just finished watching Fall of the House of Usher on Netflix and really enjoyed it. We are also enjoying Lawman: Bass Reeves but it only comes out an episode each week so I can't binge it. Hope you have a great week.

  32. I've never seen anything on Netflix, so it would all be new to me. My TV isn't even on most of the time. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  34. Hope whatever choice your Mom makes it will be right for her. Ah leftovers can get a bit much after awhile. Hope you find something to view, I find I have enough at the moment but sometimes I am like that.

  35. We went to my mother in laws, so we had left overs for one day. There wasn't much left any ways. :-) I hope your mother does well no matter what she decides. I hope you have a good week.

  36. Best of luck to your mom!

I *just* discovered Shameless and am watching that on Netflix. I guess it originated on Showtime...ELEVEN SEASONS AGO? Yeah. I'll be watching that one for a few months I guess. It's really good though, if you haven't seen it. Dunno why I waited so long.
