It is snowpocalypse here! We've had terrible weather all week- subzero wind chills, blowing snow, and schools were off all week. And my cat decided to leap into the snow. In his defense I don't think he knew what he was in for. I had the front door open, admiring the snow drift where my porch used to be (and perhaps wondering if there was book mail buried therein) when he decided to go out. And promptly sunk from view into the snow.

The Bookish Games have been a trip. Day Two ended with 3 kills- yes 3 people were eliminated all at once. Craziness. There is a very real possibility that there are only one or a few Townies left- and I can imagine the mafia and/ or the cultists circling them hungrily like piranhas. This past week I posted a discussion- Do Werewolves Need A Pack?- and also reviewed the Thunderbolts Ultimate Collection graphic novel. And I have a review for Here and Now and Then this week.

    We've seen one night of snow this winter and it melted by the next afternoon. We don't get a lot of it in my part of Scotland. I don't mind it if I don't have to go out in it!

    Thankfully it seems our snow came to an end and we just had brutally cold weather! Though we get a break this weekend! Our temps are reaching 60! Hope you enjoy your new reads!

    Oh your poor cat!!! I can't imagine the weather you are having. I am just mad it's cold where I am. I can't deal with snow. Love all the pics! Have a great week!

    Gotta admit that I'm pretty impressed by High Heel Homicide.(lol) The title, the cover and the cost all grabbed my attention equally, and reminds me how books are always entertaining. I saw on the news all week about the snow, and a friend in Chicago was really going through it. Reminded me of when I lived in ND while in the Air Force. We're preparing for a heat wave in the 60's and 70's here in NC, and with the Sir Wally the Groundhog telling us an early Spring is coming, it seems Winter is pretty much done here. Still I wish you can send about 3 inches here and no ice, please.(lol) Happy Saturday and Hugs Gorgeous Greg! RO

    I wish we had snow, then maybe I could have a few days off work! We have a ton of rain right now, which is good for California but sort of a pain😁

    As much as I adore the idea of snow the snowpocalypse you're describing sounds terrible! Unless you can stay inside and have enough food to last you until it calms down. Awesome images as always!

      It is terrible! Highways closed and cars sliding all over. I think snow in theory is much better than in practice! Or better yet how about a little just to be pretty but clear roads???

    We had some pretty low temps here in NJ also. My daughters school was closed on Thursday because it was like -20. Weather is just crazy. Heard you all got some really heavy snow. I bet your cat wont be doing that again any time soon! lol

    Love the interior images. I always loved pictures of house layouts like that, especially gaming layouts.

      My cat won't go near the outside now lol when I open the door. Not to mention it feels like Antarctica when you DO open the door.

    I love that your cat jumped into the snow! I don't think ours would even consider it. They stay away from all the doors as a general rule, with the exception of the new kitty my son brought home. He's young, obnoxious, and gave me many reasons to buy a squirt bottle. I've been spritzing him when he gets into cabinets (he's been chewing bags of food open), when he aggravates the other two (my older ladies), and when he tries to spring for freedom outside. I don't know what he think's he'll find out there. Coyotes? Stray cats? HIS DEATH?

    My son really wants it to snow here, but Texas is sadly snow free. I'm not sure we'd want to be in a blizzard or anything, but a few inches wouldn't be too bad, right? I know snow is probably a headache in reality, but it looks pretty. ;)

    Yes! Two Can Keep a Secret! I cannot wait to see what you think of that one. Also, Lourdes. I just recalled that name from the book, but I honestly don't know what happened to that thread. Let me know if you remember. <3

      Oh squirt bottles are the best for obnoxious feline control. I love how they see it coming and bolt for the hideyplaces. And haha right they have no idea what horrors await them on the outside. Not once they're coddled inside cats. :)

      Snow is pretty, and a few inches are fine. Texas heat would kill me, but this... ugh.

      And ooh now you have me SUPER curious!!

      My kitten loves the squirt bottle. She loves climbing into sinks and turning taps on. She loves trying to climb into the shower. She's an absolute weirdo.
      Oh and the snow? She ROLLED IN IT! She's long-haired (a Maine Coon cross) so she has lots of layers of fur and long fur between her pads but I still considered her behaviour a little perverse for a cat, lol.
      Thankfully, she didn't stay out too long (and watching her was amusing) but getting her dry wasn't fun. :/

    Schools were only closed here on Wednesday, but They were closed all week in MN too, for the most part. The high here is supposed to be 50 today and 56 tomorrow, go figure. It feels much colder because it is also fog and cloudy and dreary-looking.

    Did you feel like you were living in the People of the Snow Tree image, ha ha? Your cat made me chuckle. We had super low temps with -37°F windchill, but we were lucky and didn't get much more snow. Everyone in the Midwest has been saying on Facebook that the vortex lifted on Thursday, but it's still freezing here. We are supposed to get up to 30° tomorrow, though. Heat Wave! 🔥🔥🔥

    Bad weather here too, though we are supposed to get a nice rebound of up to 50 degrees this week, but everything has been so erratic so who knows! I'm pretty sick of the snow and the cold at this point too, maybe that's why I love all the green-housey pics you've chosen!

    We basically have weather like that every winter xD well okay... subzero F is more like occasional, but 10F is pretty usual for where I live. And lots of snow. I don't enjoy it much though, I have to say xD

    You had me laughing out loud Greg! I recall when I had a cat and it snowed he moved in the snow like he was swimming the crawl! But we had nothing as impressive as you have that he really sunk!     It was crazy cold here. We got snow on Friday morning, but not a whole lot. Regardless, we were out of school Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday! I loved it!

    HA at least the cat came back of its own volition and you didn't have to like, rescue it from a snow pile. As much as I hated the cold and such, it is going to be SO hard to have a full work week- even though it'll be a lot warmer.

    It's funny because compared to here (and there, I am sure!) the "Snow Tree" looks downright pathetic- like you call that "snow", Snow Tree People? Please. (But it IS pretty!) Also, did "fluffy thing" straight up JUMP to his owner? Because... wow. Idk if he made it. I want to start reading some of those graphic novel series, but UGH I am drowning in review books. Why exactly do I do this to myself?

    And YAY there is me, dead Jaha! I mean. I'd say that I am sad to be dead, but I am not, because if I were playing and everyone was so inactive... well, let's be real, I wouldn't shut up and I'd end up dead anyway.

    Your poor cat! I am glad your cat is okay. What a shock that must have been. I hope you are all staying as warm as possible. We've had nonstop rain the past couple days along with a chilling wind, but nothing like what you've had to endure. I enjoyed your discussion post and the comments about werewolf packs quite a bit, Greg. I tend to use the terms werewolf and shapeshifter interchangeably, but I really mean shapeshifter more often than not. The sleepy cat in the Sleepy Cat artwork looks so comfortable and warm.     That is how one of my dogs reacted to the snow. She jumped in and was like WTH is this and ran back into the house. She whined at it and when she knew my other two dogs were ok with it, she ran with them. Safety in numbers I guess. Our schools were closed for most of the week for the same reasons. Ughh Have a wonderful week!

    I've been hearing about this awful weather, I'm lucky to have been home all last week, as we had some minus temperatures for a while, but my cousins who live in Toronto sent me photos and the amount of snow they have is horrendous, they were shovelling away their snow, whereas where I live we don't even own a shovel! Stay warm!

    Well we had a few days of cold but thankfully no snow this time. With all the appointments we have it would be hell rescheduling since the whole town would shut down. We warmed up by the weekend and it's awesome this week, we're actually in the 70s now. I rode the Harley to yoga class today. I even got the 2 cans a week leaf raking done when I got home. I love Kelley Armstrong's Rockton series with all my heart. I hope you enjoy or find other books you think are amazing reads. Anne - Books of My Heart
