ReplyDeleteI think you have a thing for one word titles but also for long titles, since you had numerous of each on here lol. I think my fave is Eight Hundred Grapes because whaaa? That's a lot of grapes, and I'm curious how that ties into the book.

I'm not sure I'd class a couple of them as unique...I've read three books called Need and three called Panic! A few of the others are certainly strange...

ReplyDeleteI love all of Douglas Adams' titles. They certainly stand out, don't they? This is a great list, Greg. A Map for Wrecked Girls and The Life Boat Clique are very creative as well. And those one word titles pack a lot of meaning into them. Thanks for sharing!

Douglas Adams is always great for unique book titles! I think two of my favorite titles are 'The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society' (which I love) and 'The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight' (which I haven't read yet). Apparently I like long titles! Ha! You, however, seem to favor one-word titles. XD
ReplyDeleteAu Revoir, Crazy European Chick is definitely a unique one! Eight Hundred Grapes is also one that would make me double back to look at because how often are grapes mentioned in a title!? Really great choices. :)
ReplyDeleteEight Hundred Grapes is a good one! I haven't seen that one before. Au Revoir Crazy European Chick has been on my TBR for *years*. Like, more than 5, at least. The Douglas Adam titles are so funny. My husband read the series several years ago and the titles always made me laugh.

Au Revoir Crazy European Chick and So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish are my faves! Because... what now? I also want to know about Eight Hundred Grapes. It isn't even so much the sheer volume of the grapes, but who the hell counted out 800 of them? It probably makes more sense IN the book. Great choices!

ReplyDeleteWhat amazes me is I have not read a Douglas Adams book yet. I love his titles as well and so many books are based on his.
