Sunday Post #137

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer

A cold start to April although the sun did come out a bit. Early in the week. Then it was rain and even a few snow flurries. Nice. I read a few books, watched some shows and did some more writing. I'm working on part two of Trust Issues, so thanks to everyone who asked for more. We may get her viewpoint this time...

This week I finished Nightstruck and will be reviewing it on Thursday. I'll also have part two of my Time Travel discussion on Tuesday, and another recap of The 100 as well. I also reviewed a fun urban fantasy this week. Did anyone see the trailer for the new Star Wars movie this week? That was a surprise (in a good way). Check it out below.

Okay this looks awesome. The new trailer for Star Wars: Rogue One. I wasn't expecting this movie to be any good, but judging from the trailer- it looks a lot better than the Force awakens.

And I'm listening to...

  1. I love a good time-travel novel, just don't find too many that appeal to me. Also sliding-doors type novels. I'm always open to recs in either category from anyone.

That green treetop city is a beautiful image-- I could look at it for a long time! But does danger lurk below? I don't know-- you're the flash fiction writer :)

    1. I do too. Time travel can be iffy, so if I find one I like that's a good thing. :)

  2. Time travel always hurts my brain a bit though my very favorite time travel anything is a Doctor Who episode called Blink. It's fantastic. If you have Amazon Prime go watch it. You can go right to it without watching any of the other episodes but really you should be watching Doctor Who anyway :) I love the Star Wars art! Have a great week!

It's still really hot here too. Summer just won't leave! We're still having 30+C (86+F) days. Argh!

    1. Thanks, it's fun to do. :) Summer won't leave there and I can't get it to warm up here- at least where I am. I need some warm weather...

  4. Great photos and clips....thanks for sharing, and enjoy your week. I spent a good part of the afternoon on Netflix with the new series American Odyssey. Had a hard time stopping!

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

  5. My goodness, it's still snowing?! How's your stray cat? Still coming around? I'm looking forward to your thoughts on Nightstruck. And that's cool that you're doing a part 2 of the story, I'll have to check that out once it's posted as well :-)

I watched the tipsy review of Vicious last night after you left that comment about it lol. Except it'd probably work better if they got drunk *before* starting the video so that they wouldn't have to stand around waiting and worry about not getting drunk enough, haha.

    1. Just a little, but yeah- snow flurries. Seriously?? I am not happy. :) The stray I think is still coming around, although I haven't seen him/ her.... something is eating the food lol. Yeah I'm kinda excited about part 2- it was supposed to be a throwaway but now I kinda like to know more. :)

That tipsy review cracked me up, but yeah she needs to get drunk BEFORE. I'm curious to see what drinks she'll come up with in future...

  12. That Star Wars trailer looks amazing. I hadn’t even heard there would be another one this December. I can’t wait. I’m so excited. You totally made my day!! :D

I love the picture of the tree city by Kazumasa Ichio! It really makes my imagination go wild just by looking at it.

Happy reading and good luck with the writing! ;)

The weather is just getting on my nerves!

I can't watch the trailer because I still haven't seen the first one. lol

I need to do a drunk review, I should do it on the priest book I read, that would be one hell of a review! :)

Have a great week, Greg! Happy Reading!

  14. I hope you get some warmer weather soon, it's been pretty decent here in Southwest Mo. Today we are going to get rain though so hopefully it doesn't get to cold.

I thought the Rogue movie looked pretty decent but I am mad at the new Star Wars because of a scene close to the end and refuse to ever watch it again. Not a huge Star Wars fan but I have my favorite people!!! :(

I am curious as to what you thought of Nightstruck as I have it to review, so behind.

Enjoy your new reads and happy reading!

  15. I like time travel shows but don't read many time travel books. I don't know why. And I know I've said it before but I'll say it again that I need to check out 12 monkies.

  16. We got more than a little snow here but thankfully it didn't stick around long and has mostly melted. I am so eager for warmer weather. I hope we get an actual spring and it doesn't just go from winter to summer.

I did see the trailer and I think it is much better than I anticipated. I had forgotten that Felicity Jones was in it. She reminds me of Katniss Everdeen in the teaser trailer. Also I was impressed that they found someone who could pass for Mon Mothma. I originally planned to wait til it was on DVD but I may just have to see this in theaters too.

  17. Ugh... the snow! I got more photos from my mom and sister at home... record cold last night, too. One daughter is visiting her boyfriend in Philly and said it snowed there, too. I'm staying in FL until the end of the month!! I got a review of Clouds in My Coffee this week and, judging from the first two chapters, it's another good one from Julie Mulhern. Have a great week.

  18. I can't wait for more on your time-travel discussion! Rogue One looks good but I'm still weary of getting too too excited for it...

  20. Bleh the cold start to the month was disappointing. I'm hoping it warms up soon. I did see the trailer for the new Star Wars movie. I was surprised to see it as well but it looks really good! Can't wait to see it.

  21. That's so great you're working on part two of your story! I'm still kind of scared to even share an excerpt from mine. Also, I Was surprised by the Rogue One trailer as well. For some reason, I thought it was about Han Solo? I really don't know where that came from..

We got to watch some movies with our son and I hope to do a short post on those this week.
I picked up Discount Armageddon after seeing it in your post last week. It reminded me of Monster Hunters so I thought I'd give it a try. I'll have to take a peek at your review.

  36. We had some rain and some sun here, it was nice weather overall. I hadn't watched the star wars movie yet as I was afraid for spoilers as I haven't seen the previous one, but I am not sure whether this was the next movie or the one in between the first two trilogies.
Nightstuck and Discount Armageddon both looks good. And those pictures you shared look so pretty! I hope you'll have a great week!

  37. Oh my goodness, you are so right. The Star Wars trailer does look awesome - it seems like The Force Awakens has just been released, and there's a new one coming out. That is exciting indeed. I always love the look of the books you have here: Wayward and Morning Glories in particular caught my eye. Enjoy the rest of your reading week!
