Sunday Post #354

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer
Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews
It's Monday! What Are You Reading is hosted by Book Date

Thanks for all the comments last week, especially the insights into what other countries are like. In these challenging times I think we're all curious at one time or another- what would it be like to live somewhere else? I loved reading everyone's thoughts. :)

Who's watching Into the Night?

  1. I'm loving "Switch", though it's very disquieting (which probably is the point LOL).
    Happy Sunday and new week!

  2. That's awesome that you were playing D&D. I haven't played since high school.

  3. I remember the surge of D&D in the early 80s. Tom Hanks was 26 and unknown. It is so clear. D&D scared me.

  4. The Mickey Spillane cover is fabulous. JT Ellison is an author I really want to read more of. We cancelled Netflix a few months ago and I'm not sure how much longer that's going to last! There's so many interesting looking shows I see that are Netflix. Have a great week!

  5. Into the Night looks so good - I'm going have to start in on that!

  6. Nice art pieces, I love the first three which all seem so wide open in terms of space, but they also feel ominous in their isolation.

  8. Any reason you picked New Sensation for sotw? Just curious.

  9. That is one thing I love about our book community. We can share how we live, how we feel or think without having to fear that we get dumped for it. Songs from the Deep looks beautiful. I need to check it out. Thank you for sharing it and have a great weekend. Stay safe and well, Greg.

  10. I loved going through your last post's comments too, it was interesting to see how things are working out in different countries. Into the night seems interesting.

  11. Greg it is certainly good to hear what is happening in other countries via our blogs. It somehow humanises it all. It brings it into the ordinary persons experience, not what we see on the news. Take care.

  12. Greg, I haven't been watching Into the Dark, but I hope you're enjoying it. I have just finished watching season 5 of True Blood: some sexy-ass vampire fun to escape into!😉 Take care and happy reading and viewing.😃

  13. INXS was such a great band. So many good songs. It was so sad when Michael Hutchence died.

  17. I've never read Mickey Spillane...time to do so? Thanks for sharing such great visual images. Electric Dreams feels a bit like my recent dreams. LOL

Thanks for visiting my blog, and have a great week.

  18. Hi Greg! You probably don't remember me, I used to blog about 3 years ago under MareliThalkInk. Live got a bit in the way. Struggled like crazy to get it up and running, but decided it's just easier to start afresh. You can find me at https://elzareads.blogspot.com/
I see you are still with the pulp covers. Awesome... We've started with Into the night about 2 weeks ago, lost a bit of interest... Should I just continue?
Keep well and I hope to see you "around" a bit!

  19. I've never heard of Into the Night. Let us know what you think! I need something better than Space Force... haha.

  20. I'm listening to the podcast Fake Doctors Real Friends and Donald Faison has mentioned several times his love of D & D in his youth. Its adorable!

  21. It's nice to hear through other bloggers what's going on around the world - our news just seems to focus on what's happening here, it's easy to forget that other places are going through the same thing.

  22. Into the Night looks exciting, but I wonder at the end point. Do they just keep running? Interested in your thoughts on Good Girls Lie.

  23. Hope you have a good weekend!

  24. I love INXS. I was so sad when Michael H. died. Happy reading!

  26. Vengeance Is Mine looks like a fun read. I love all of the old pulp covers.

  27. I hope your D&D game went well! A friend of mine plans to introduce her daughter to D&D this summer. I haven't thought of INXS in a long time! Boy, does that bring back memories! Good Girls Lie sounds good. I hope you enjoy it when you read it!

I hope you have a great week, Greg.

  28. My daughter is living with us and has Netflix so I will be able to watch some shows that I haven't seen before. First up will be Witcher.

  29. I like to hear how others around the world are doing, too. The artwork is captivating as usual. Glad you're enjoying Into the Dark. New to me.

    Have a good week, Greg!

  30. Into the Night looks so suspenseful. I recognise some of the French actors (we have a lot of French movies here in Quebec).

Reading fellow blogs helps me see what my bookie friends are going through in their part of the world. It's a small world after all.

  31. Wow! Fabulous images.

I miss INXS. Such a talented group.

I don't think I've ever read a Mike Hammer novel, though I have heard of them.

Hope you have a great week.

  32. Into the Night is the BEST every single person should go watch it immediately so we can have a second season.

Also is it just me, or is An Other View very similar to Nakara!? I cannot wait to see more!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I have never heard of Into the Night. Going to have to check it out!

  34. I missed a discussion about what other countries are like during this time? Luckily for me I'm working backwards on my blog catch up so I will look out for that and read the comments. And Into The Night looks so interesting, I am definitely checking that out so thanks for sharing.

  35. I'd really like to move into the north of England to get away from the Scottish government. A nice rural property with roaming wildlife, lots of storage and an indoor swimming pool!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Whitesnake and INXS!! Taking me way back with those. Lol.

    Have a great week Greg!

  37. Loving the pics as usual - and no... we aren't watching Into the Night, because we are still binge-watching Lucifer, which I am loving:). Hope the coming week is a good one, Greg:)

  38. Love that so many people commented with insights on living in other countries! Hope you have a great week!

  39. A blogger friend recommended Into the Night, she said it was super stressful though!

  40. Into the Night looks good, but I'm not sure if I need another TV show that could give me nightmares! We're watching old shows we never saw -- Grimm and Falling Skies -- and both are dark and scary. I don't like noir lit as a rule, because I like tons of character development, and noir usually strikes me as being sparse in character development. That J.T. Ellison is on my TBR, though, when I'm ready for more psychological suspense!

  41. I haven't tried Into the Night yet but I'm hearing good things about it. Oh man, INXS. I was so obsessed with that band when they first started out. So sad about the lead singer though.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Someone else mentioned Into the Night. I need to check it out. I've been enjoying some off-planet reads and agree the cover of Auxiliary: London 2039 by Jon Richter is wickedly cool.

    ReplyDelete
  43. It does seem good to keep up with what's happening in other countries, though kind of overwhelming trying to keep track of everything. Everyone's probably glad they don't live in the US though, what with how the virus is being handled. I love those cozy looking sleeping quarters in the pictures!

  44. haven't started watching it yet, but Into the Night is on the already long, long list!(lol) Hope you're doing well. RO

  45. Into the Night is SO CREEPY! It gives me the shivers!

  46. Into the Night looks good. I haven't seen it on our Netflix yet. I'll keep an eye out.
    Stay safe and happy reading.
