QUESTIONS
WHAT WAS THE NAME OF YOUR FIRST DOG?
Prince. He was just a mutt and had an awesome personality. Unfortunately he was an outside dog, as my dad always kept them outside? I never understood that, and always wanted him to come in and escape the cold or heat. He would stay in the garage when the weather was really bad, but it wasn't the same.
DO YOU HAVE A DOG NOW?
I do not, I have three cats but would love to get a dog.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BREED OF DOG?
Not sure! I like Labs and Jack Russell terriers, and mutts are fine with me! When I was younger of course I wanted a Norwegian elkhound or a Malamute cause I thought they were awesome- and they are- but I'm over that. :)
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CANINE THEMED BOOK?
This one's tough as I don't read a lot of dog- themed books per se. I'll have to go with an old favorite.
WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE FICTIONAL DOG?
That's not hard.
WHAT IS YOUR TOP MVIE CHOICE WITH A FEATURED CANINE?
DO YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF A DOG OR A CAT PERSON? WHY?
Both? I would say a cat person only because I've always had cats (and I have three), but I had dogs growing up too and love 'em. There's really nothing better than a dog friend to lay down next to you and just be glad you're there. They really are the best friends in many ways.
BONUS QUESTION
TELL US ABOUT A PERSONAL DOG RELATED MEMORY
When I was in college my aunt and uncle went to Florida and left their Yorky home with me to watch. His name was Dusty and he was awesome. They had him trained so if you pointed your finger at him and said bang! bang! he'd roll over like he was shot. Anyway he didn't know me from anybody so he was a little leery at first, but by the time they came back we were good friends (I was staying at their house watching) and it was tough to leave!
I have 2 collie, I love this breed, they're so sweet! One is really old and the other in 8 month old
ReplyDeleteAw collies are nice. :)
DeleteThis tag is so fun. I've always had a dog since I was a teen. My dog, Quigley, is almost 12 now. He's a pitbull/hound mix and such a character. Right now he's lying on my bed, head resting on the windowsill, waiting for something to move so he can bark and race to the door to be let out. I'm a human doggie door. LOL
ReplyDeleteIt is! Ha ha that's funny. Sounds like a cool dog. Like the name Quigley too! I thin a hound/ pit mix would be a great dog...
DeleteHow cute! I love dogs, I'm now only down to one black lab, but she's lovely!
ReplyDeleteBlack labs!!!
DeleteEeeee! I was feeling lazy and looking for a non-book post I could whip so thanks for tagging me :-)))
ReplyDeleteFor What It's Worth
Well here you go then. I thought I remembered you being a dog fan?!?
DeleteI don't have a dog, but I'd really like to change that! And guess what? I love Labs! <3 Nice post, Greg :)
ReplyDeleteLabs are the best.
DeleteI'd consider myself a cat person too since I've got two and love them to death but I like dogs too. One day I want to get a basset hound.
ReplyDeleteOh basset hounds are cool. I remember as a kid I loved their floppy ears and their somewhat morose look. They're supposed to be really nice I guess, would be a great dog!
DeleteAwesome answers. I enjoyed doing this tag too. I don't understand outside dogs but we had them too when I was growing up. They were well taken care of but I want dogs to be part of the family. Awesome trick for Dusty - I bet that was so cute!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. My dad was hard to convince. :( But we loved em. And dusty was awesome!
DeleteIt's impossible to choose between dogs and cats. I don't have any pets now, but my ideal would be to have one or two dogs, a cat, and a bunny.
ReplyDeleteI think dogs and cats would be ideal- I have the cats, now I just need a dog. :) Our neighbors had a bunny before they moved away- we took care of it when they went away. Cute!
DeleteAhem...cats are better
ReplyDeleteMeow!
DeleteA wonderful post!!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Oh, I love Snoopy and the whole Peanuts gang. I have a dog named Luana - she's the only dog I've ever had, and I love her to bits. She's like a baby. LOL

I love these tags because I get to know more about my blogger friends Peanuts! I would have choose that book too. I love them so much all the characters, especially Snoopy such an attitude! LOL :)
ReplyDeletePeanuts is the best, I've always loved it! And yes these tags are fun.
DeleteAww poor outside dog :-( But lol about the yorkie who could play dead. I agree, I feel like I'm both a cat and dog person really.
ReplyDeleteI know. In the winter I wanted him to come in so bad, but nops. Dusty was a scream.
DeleteThis is a fun post, and reminds me of my first dog, Fred, a toy poodle. He was super friendly and everyone loved him. I love all animals, but I'm definitely more of a cat person. Like you, I love Snoopy because he's just a cool dog. Hugs...
ReplyDeleteSnoopy is the best. But yeah cats come first for me, I've always loved em.
DeleteI love this tag so much! Snoopy is such a great character! :)
ReplyDeleteSnoopy is the best!!!
DeleteI'm afraid I hate cats! They seem to like me but I really hate the things! Dogs rule!
ReplyDeleteHa ha dogs are pretty special.
DeleteI hate hearing about dogs who are "outside dogs" so I'm sorry for your childhood dog:-( I'm a huge dog person and I have two dachshunds. I can't imagine my life before I had them. My dogs are "inside dogs" so it's the opposite. I keep them in unless someone in my family is at home. I have this fear of them getting out, I guess.
ReplyDeleteI do too, it was like he loved dogs but wouldn't have them in? Dachsunds are nice, sounds like you have two great companions!
DeleteI love dogs too. Like you, I have cats right now, but no dogs. Someday I'd like to adopt another dog. Growing up, I remember having outside dogs, and I never cared for it either. We did have an indoor dog for quite a while though, until she passed. I think my dad had a change of heart at some point about keeping the dog outside.
ReplyDeleteYup. Maybe it was that generation? Keeping the dogs outside, I don't know. Dad wouldn't have them in, although I always wanted to. Nice that your dad changed his mind at some point.
DeleteThe dog I grew up with wasn't allowed in the house either. We got her when I was 3 and she died when I was 19 so that is a long time to live in a backyard. I did spend more time outside as a kid just to play with her.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun tag! I love Snoopy too. :)
ReplyDeleteAs a dog lover this tag is the cutest thing! Prince and Dusty both sound awesome, although I agree -- outside dogs just aren't the same. When I was a kid we had a boxer named Chloe and she was the best. One day I'm going to have a boxer again! And maybe a cat or two. ;)
ReplyDeleteI have two dogs, so I'm definitely a dog person (plus I'm allergic to cats, but I do think they're adorable). I had two dogs as a kid too. And I agree with you that I've always thought the idea of outdoor pets was weird.

I liked your dog tag post so much that I decided to do it too. My dog tag post will show up tomorrow on my blog.
ReplyDeleteI missed this, sorry! I still never get email notifications for your posts. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteMy first dog was outdoor only, too, and was brought into the garage when it was super cold outside. Yorkies are cool little dogs. I would have missed him, myself. It's funny how our taste in dogs changes over the years. I used to love all the Sporting Group dogs, but now I love Sight Hounds.
I missed so much not knowing there were Peanuts books! I would have loved them. Thanks for doing our tag! :)
Awwww, I love this tag! And you can absolutely be both a cat and dog person - it's called an animals-are-the-bomb person.
