I love these old style Nancy Drew covers! They're all more cartoon-y now. These are much spookier.

Love all of the covers you picked! The cover for World of the Gods also fits perfectly with the Halloween theme, and that tagline is fantastic!

You know I love Nancy Drew! The covers for those and the Hardy Boys books are so great! I wish today's book covers were more like that.

ReplyDeleteI'd never pictured Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys covers as being very halloween-y but not gonna lie, a couple of those are giving some creepy vibes. Who knew? I love these old school looking covers as well, they totally make me think of the old copies of these books I'd find at my nan's that were usually my dad's old books.

I was introduced to Nancy Drew in grade school (way back in the 70s), and it was insta-love. I really like that you used the classic covers. I could never embrace the updated ones.

These are great! I love the old school covers. The one with the boat gives off James Bond vibes to me for some reason. Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteMy older sister had books from these series! I don’t remember what the covers looked like, though. I read a few of her Nancy Drew books when I was a kid. I’d like to try rereading them someday.

I love ALL THESE. Thyey are retro vintage goodness of the series that first got me interested in mysteries and thrillers and I could look at them all day! (such a creative TTT, Greg!)

ReplyDeleteI actually have never read a Nancy Drew book, not sure it was that popular where I live.
LOVE that you went with these books. I was just thinking about Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys the other week--when Nancy Drew's latest adaptation aired on the CW--and was like, dang, its been a while since I read at least one of them. Then, I found a copy of one of the Hardy Boys books at a library sale (I ended up putting it back because it had a question blob of goop or something on the title page and I was like, okay, no?) and it feels like I've just been thinking about them a lot lately? It makes me miss working at an antique shop--we used to get the coolest editions/older books of these two series, plus the Bobbsey Twins. It was always such fun looking through them.

ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVED reading Nancy Drew when I was in elementary school. I really liked the old covers a lot. I don't like the new ones AT ALL.
ReplyDeleteThese books have such a Vintage feel Greg! They remind me of my "Sylvie " or "Alice" our local Nancy Drew. Same vibe on the cover.
