This week is a Top Ten freebie for Halloween!
Wooh bring on the scary stuff. After much deliberation (well, not that much) I decided to go with books about people being stalked or chased- because who doesn't like that at this time of the year? Well, fictionally speaking. So here are my Top Ten run for your life reads.

Blackbird (Blackbird, #1)

Why are they chasing her?

Ten

Stranded on an island.

Echoes

This was a trip.

Survive the Night

Trapped under NYC in abandoned subway tunnels... and being hunted. Yes please.

City of the Lost (Rockton, #1)

A town off the grid and lotsa secrets.

13 Secrets

Nasty faeries and a group being picked off one by one- what's not to like?

An Unwanted Guest

Trapped by a blizzard and a killer on the prowl.

The Woman in the Window

I love stories where someone hears or sees something but no one believes them.

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1)

I guess this one's a no- brainer in the run for your life category.

This is Not a Test (This is Not a Test #1)

Ooh does a zombie apocalypse count?

Three Days to Dead (Dreg City, #1)

I loved this urban fantasy - with a character named Chalice Frost, how could I not??

Freeks

I rather liked this urban fantasy carnival.

Menagerie (Menagerie, #1)

More urban fantasy + carnival

What She Saw

Poor Lana saw something she shouldn't have...

Contagion (Contagion, #1)

Creepy AF at times.

  1. Haha, I love your choice of topic. I did love City of the Lost, because if there's one thing worse than being stalked or chased, it's being stalked and chased in the middle of nowhere where there's no sign of civilization to be had for miles and no one to help you.

    1. Thanks! Yes I loved city of the Lost partly because whenever she was in the woods, Armstrong managed to capture that is-there-someone-behind-you feel haha!

    1. I recommend it- not everyone liked it but I liked the paranoia of it, the sense that it was almost like a Hitchcock movie.

  3. Every time I see Freeks, I think I have it on my Kindle and then I look and I don't. I must have a book with a similar cover. I am still interested in Ten and Survive the Night. 🎃

  4. Oooh, love the theme you went with! I'm always looking for more good stalker stories, haha. I haven't read any of these except The Hunger Games and Contagion, but I loved both of those, so I'm gonna have to add some of these to my TBR! :) Happy reading!

  6. Being stranded on an island? That plot alone is CREEPY!! *shudders* THG also fits well because well, yeah, the plot is pretty self explanatory.

Thanks so much for the Finding Wonderland visit, Greg.

  8. I love THIS IS NOT A TEST!! I can't read a ton of zombie books bc they give me nightmares, but that was one that I braved bc I'm a big fan of the author. Also, zombies aren't in it THAT much. SURVIVE THE NIGHT is one I own and really want to find time to read.

  9. I still have to read any of the books you listed here, but they are on my endless TBR pile! Probably Menagerie is at the top of my list :)

  10. OOoh great picks! Seeing a lot of favorites! Menagerie, Survive the Night, ANY Kelley Armstrong book, Three Days to Dead, Ten, and ECHOES! I loved that one!! Dying for a sequel to it too! I still need to read Contagion but I was leaning towards binging it with the sequel next year!

    Here's my Tuesday Post

    Have a GREAT day!

    1. Yes Echoes NEEDS a sequel! And I highly recommend Contagion- although w/ that ending, binging it with the sequel might be a great way to go!

I loved three Days to Dead (especially Isleen) and I ned more Armstrong.

  11. Great list! Survive the Night sounds really fun. I'd also recommend Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None - there was a wonderful BBC adaptation of it a couple of years ago.

  12. Some of these I still need to read but I definitely love the series by Armstrong, it is one of my favorites and I can't wait for the next one!

  13. I need to grab Contagion from the library and I own Freeks - I got it in a subscription box. Survive the Night got on my nerves and I wish I had read The Merciless instead. Great list Greg!

  14. The Woman in the Window was one of my favorites this year. Can't wait for the movie!!!!

  16. I have to agree, stories about people being chased terrify me! Great choice for the topic. I've read several of these, Ten and Survive the Night, and it's almost more than I can take as a reader, lol.

  17. The cover of Ten always creeps me out. It looks so foreboding. And yeah, Hunger Games is the ultimate “run for your life” tale. I actually used Effie is my post for today. :)

  29. Cool topic. The only one I’ve read is The Hunger Games, but if any of these other books are as good as that series, I need to read them.

Aj @ Read All The Things!

  30. I don't even need the NYC subway to be abandoned for it to scare me.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I have not read any of the books on your list, guess that means I don't really read much about people getting chased or stalked, although I did try to read the hunger games once but just couldn't get into it.

    have a lovely day.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Oh yeah, being stalked is definitely super creepy!! Makes my skin crawl. I still need to read An Unwanted Guest!

  33. I've had This Is Not a Test on my TBR for a million years, and I meant to read it this month but I've ended up running out of time. Oops. Hopefully I can get to it soon, though :)

  34. "Trapped under NYC in abandoned subway tunnels... and being hunted." Yikes! Glad I'm reading this post after my NYC trip rather than before, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  35. This Is Not a Test and Contagion *almost* made my list! And Echoes did, because I want to read it. I love that THG is on here, too! And I think I feel like the person in Woman in the Window? Someone sees something and no one believes them? It's me in Bookish Games! Also I really love the idea of the abandoned Reaper... er, subway tunnels, I will probably have to give that one a try! Great list!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Ooh great list! Run for your life books are always so intense and they stress me out so much! I haven't read any of these books apart from The Hunger Games and I don't know if I'm game enough to try!

    Here's my Top Ten Tuesday

  37. How much deliberation exactly? :-P The topic you decided on is unexpectedly specific lol. I couldn't even think of one book about people being stalked/hunted, let alone ten! But I have read The Hunger Games, so I'm prob just bad at remembering lol. 13 Secrets sounds kind of awesome.

  38. I like where you went with his topic!!! I really want to get Echoes and City of the Lost. The Woman in the Window is great for the topic!

  39. What She Saw totally caught my eye. Nice list topic :)
