This week is Top Ten Books That Have Been On My TBR And I still Have Not Read. This might also be the longest blog title in my blog's history?
DNF but may try again.
Only once a dnf has worked out for me
ReplyDeleteYea I don't go back to DNF's much...
DeleteSame re Hitchiker's! Such a classic, but I've never been inclined to pick it up!
ReplyDeleteI actually started it once and didn't finish! The horror ha ha. I want to start again and finish though...
DeleteOooh! All of these books sound awesome! I definitely need to finish the Runaways series!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my TTT !
Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog
I stalled out on the Runaways after book 5, I think?
DeleteI read Hitchhiker's last year, but it's the only book on your list that I've managed to pick up! I own a couple of them - Sister, Sister and Song of the Current - but I keep putting them off.
ReplyDeleteHere's my TTT!
I keep putting Song off too, I read like a chapter and it didn't grab me? But I'll try again- and I need to read Hitchhiker's!!
DeleteAfter I DNF I never go back to a book. It gets one chance with Chuckles. I DNFed Hitchhikers quite early on as it just didn't grab me at all. I hope you have better luck with it.
ReplyDeleteI had the same problem with Hitchhiker's, it bored me? But I may try again. Generally though I'm the same- once I DNF I rarely go back.
DeleteI could have put Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy on my list this week too. There were so many options, though, lol.
ReplyDeleteI know, this list almost exploded??
DeleteOoh nice! Song of the Current is in my TBR pile, but only for the past year or so! Basically, the books I picked are the building blocks of my TBR pile! They started it and still remain unread! Whelp! Lol!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Ha they add up! And Song has been on my list since it came out, but I never seem to get to it (I did try it once and wasn't impressed, but I only gave it a chapter).
DeleteYou haven't read Hitchhiker's Guide?! Shame on you, ha ha. I had totally forgotten that I wanted to read Song of the Current. Thanks for reminding me. ☺
ReplyDeleteI know right? I feel like I'm the only person who hasn't read it??
DeleteI thought for sure you would have read The Hitchhiker's Guide! I've never read it either but my hubby did, and of course, loved it.
ReplyDeleteI know! Although I did start it once and stalled. I'll try again... :)
DeleteIt is a long blog title!!! Love the look of Sister Sister.
ReplyDeleteI know! Quite a mouthful...
DeleteThe Hitchhiker's Guide was on my TBR for so long as well! It's one of my favorites!! :)
ReplyDeleteI really need to try it again (I tried once but didn't get far). Maybe I wasn't in the right frame of mind for it.
DeleteThe Valiant and The Wood are both books I definitely want to check out soon! I hope you eventually get to read all of these!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm kind of excited for The Valiant.
DeleteWild Bird is so good - I hope you get to it soon and enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteThat's good to know! I did like the sample I read- I just need to find time to read it.
DeleteI have so many books in my TBR pile that have literally been there for years it is so sad! Some of these are new to me though but they do look good! Good luck getting to them and reading them. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I know, it's so easy for the books to pile up, right?
DeleteI haven't heard of any these titles but 'murder in the secret garden' sounds interesting, no idea what's about but just the fact it refers to another book makes it interesting to me.
ReplyDeletehave a lovely day.
It's the third in a series, basically they're murder mysteries set at a resort full of libraries, named after various authors. Nice right?
DeleteI need to read The Wood and Valiant too but there were books that have been on my list much longer so these didn't make it to mine. Good luck getting some of these read.
ReplyDeleteThanks! The Valiant is probably near the top of my list in terms of books I hope to get to, it sounds so good.
DeleteI've also had The Vault of Dreamers on my TBR since it came out! I never went out of my way to purchase and/or read it, so I guess that means I'm no longer interested. I've been seeing Valiant a lot though, so THAT one I'm interested in!
ReplyDelete- Aimee @ Aimee, Always
Yes to The Valiant! And someone sent me an ARC of Vault since they really liked it, so I'm actually reading it now!
DeleteThey're all new to me but I have so many like that!
ReplyDeleteI know, blogs tend to inflate my TBR crazily!
DeleteThough I do remember the cover on various lists or perhaps from seeing it on Amazon/Goodreads, I don't think I've ever really looked at The Valiant. It was on displays last time I went to B&N too. Funny how you see something all the time, but never really give it a second look.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland, Greg. :)
Yes I do that all the time, keep seeing a book and don't give it much thought. Then I might see it on a blog or something later and decide I have to have it. :)
DeleteSome of these aren't too old, so you seem to be doing better with your TBR than most of us! LOL I am curious about The Wood.
ReplyDelete-Lauren

I'm a mood reader and I tend not to have too many older books on my TBR, I just read em or move on I guess? Which is not always good because I miss some I really wanted to read, and then I see them later and I'm like- that one! But yes I'm glad they're not TOO old :)
DeleteI love The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy! One of my all-time favorite books/series. It's goofy and way out there, but so much fun.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thanks!
I've heard that so much, and I want to enjoy it too!!!
DeleteI hope you do, but no harm if you hate it. :D
DeleteSong of The Current is still on my TBR too, I hope it works out better for you this time.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT: https://jjbookblog.wordpress.com/2018/02/06/top-ten-tuesday-145/
Me too, thanks :)
DeleteOh now I'm so curious! What did Alice know?! One of us needs to read this book and find out. Great list!
ReplyDeleteHere's my TTT.
P.S. I still can't publish a comment on your blog using my Wordpress credentials, I'm going to try Google and see if that works...
well that fixed it! Must be a WordPress issue. Weird.
DeleteYou know, I've had a lot of trouble commenting on WP blogs too the last few days, I wonder if there's just some disconnect between blogger and WP accounts right now? No idea. But thank you for being persistent and commenting. :)
DeleteOh and I read What Did Alice Know and it was pretty good! My review will be up in the next couple of weeks I think? I'm kind of scheduled out right now, I wanted it up sooner...
The Valiant has been on mine for a while also, but just haven't gotten there. Song of the Current is one I've been wanting to read also, it sounds great. The only one I've read is Hitchhiker's Guide, which was fun.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, this week's really is a long title!
Same here, I really want to read The Valiant. And I need to re-try Hitchhiker's Guide, everyone loves it!
DeleteHitchhiker has been on my tbr forever too.
ReplyDeleteYeah. I started it once and never finished (which is probably heresy in the book blog world) :):) but I aim to try it again!
DeleteI think I read that Runaways graphic novel. I've read almost all of those. They were fun!
ReplyDeleteYeah I like Runaways but I think I stopped after Vol 5- not because I disliked it but I think I just never got around to buying the next one?
DeleteThe Valiant was a lot of fun! I mean, who doesn't enjoy a gladiatrix story? :D I've heard so many mixed things about Barbary Station but still haven't tried it for myself yet.
ReplyDeleteRight? I NEED to read The Valinat stat! And Barbary Station...sigh... I tried with that one, I really did, got pretty far but was just... bored??
DeleteI've read Runaways and Vault of Dreamers, enjoyed them both
ReplyDeleteOoh I'm in Vault now, started it a couple nights ago, and it's pretty good so far!
DeleteLovely list! I haven't read any of these books, but heard great things about both Song of the Current and The Vault of Dreamers, hope you'll enjoy both :D
ReplyDeleteThanks! I started Vault so I'm hoping it works for me, and Song of the Current I'll get to one of these days!!
DeleteAwesome list!! I hope you can read these books soon!!
ReplyDeleteHere's a link to my TTT post for this week:
https://captivatedreader.blogspot.com/2018/02/top-ten-tuesday-books-that-have-been-on.html
I've had The Vault of Dreamers on my TBR for a while too. It sounds interesting and really good.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed Song of the Current. I actually need to own that one. Hope you get an opportunity to read it soon.
ReplyDeleteOooo Runaways. The Valiant looks interesting, too.
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing a ton of good things about Valiant!
DeleteYup... Hitchhiker's is still on my list too. I'm starting to get concerned that I should have made a top two hundred list after seeing everyone else's posts!!
ReplyDeleteI know, right? And Hitchhiker's should be at the TOP of my list, I've heard so many good things!
DeleteRead Hitchhiker's!!! I think you'd like it. Douglas Adams' humor is so very British and a bit bizarre. Plus it's a short book and not particularly deep.
ReplyDeleteIt totally seems like something I'd like, I usually like a little humor in my sci-fi, I don't know what my problem was when I tried it before lol. I will be trying it again though
DeleteI haven't read any of those but I hope you get a chance to read them. I am curious about a few of them.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jolene!
DeleteI totally chucked at your comment about the title, because I thought the same exact thing this week. I don't know why I thought you had read Wild Bird. Maybe you had just talked about getting the book? The Vault of Dreamers! I went to the release tour for this one, and yep, still unread (but not sure why).
ReplyDeleteI know right? And I've been listing Wild Bird on my Sunday Posts for a while as "upcoming" ha ha, so that's probably why. I just need to get to it!!
DeleteAs usual I have not heard of most of these, but I do hope you get to enjoy them soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah!
DeleteI really need to pick Hitchhicker's ASAP; I have lot's of people on my case for not reading it yet LOL
ReplyDeleteMy TTT
I know, I've had that problem too :)
DeleteI hope you get a chance to read these soon! Hitchhiker’s Guide is on my TBR, too.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I need to read Hitchhiker's...
DeleteThe Valiant and The Wood have been on mine for quite a while too. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a pretty fun read.
ReplyDeleteI need to read Hitchhiker's Guide!
DeleteI have meant to pick up Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy but have never gotten around to it...it’s that pecky giant TBR. I may have to check out The Runaways too. We just started watching the Hulu series and it has caught my attention
ReplyDeleteI started Hitchhiker's once and got sidetracked, so technically I DNF'd it? But I'm going to try again.
DeleteYou're brave, I don't even want to think about all the books I have on my TBR. lol
ReplyDeletelol :)
DeleteWhat? The Hitchhiker's Guide? What are you waiting for? You will love it. My TTT TBR list
ReplyDeleteI know??? :):)
DeleteI was just about to say, wasn't Barbary Station boring?! Just... keep it as a DNF. Kick it off your TBR. I liked Vault and Song of the Current- didn't *love* but solidly liked. And we have discussed The Wood. Hell, kick that off too. I liked it but I have decided it is best to be ruthless with TBRs, it's my new plan. And will you read The Valiant already!? It is so good. I mean, gladiatrices! I need to read the sequel though so I suppose I am not one to talk hahah.
ReplyDeleteYes I think Barbary Stn is done for. I just can't. Booooring. Vault I started and I like it so far, but This Fallen Prey just came out and I'm dropping everything for that. Actually I'll read them concurrently, which I hate to do, but... whatevs. Book blogger problems :)
DeleteGladiatrices *nods* I need to read The Valiant, clearly.
I've got several of these on my list. Oh, I didn't know you had DNF'ed Barbary Station! That's one I still have to read as well, but I've been seeing mixed ratings.
ReplyDelete~Mogsy @ BiblioSanctum
Yeah Barbary isn't working for me, which is a huge disappointment. I may try again tho!!
DeleteThe Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is one of those books that I feel just about everyone has read except me, lol. I don't even think it's on my Goodreads TBR; if not, I need to fix that!
ReplyDeleteLol, that is a pretty long blog title! I don't think I've written anything longer, but you never know. I don't have any of these books in my TBR. I don't think I've ever gone back to a DNF ever either. I hope it works out for you! :)
ReplyDeleteI know?? I don't usually go back to DNF's either, and to be honest I just want to move on, but I guess if I get bored... ? :)
DeleteForgot to say, I hope you love This Fallen Prey as much as I did! The town off the grid is a really neat concept to me, too! Sometimes I want to live up there, of course with my Kindle pre-loaded with about a thousand books and a solar charger! Lol. I can't wait to hear your reaction, Greg!
ReplyDeleteOh I just started This Fallen Prey today, only two chapters in, and I'm alread hooked. That series just works for me so much! And yes there are times I want to live there too, off the grid. As long as there's no hostiles around :)
DeleteI also really need to get to Song of the Current - I've got high hopes!
ReplyDeleteI just read The Valiant the other day and I really enjoyed it but was tight on my star rating. (3) My review will be up soon.
It's been YEARS since I read HitchHiklers. I need to pick that one up again.
Chat soon!
I had to start and restart The Valiant a few times too but I ended up quite liking it.
ReplyDeleteI have heard great things about The Valiant, though I have not read it. I`m also quite sad that I have not read The hitchhiker`s Guide To The Galaxy, as I`ve found the movie quite funny.
ReplyDeleteCarmen`s Reading Corner
I remember when The Valiant made the rounds (a year or so ago?) but it seemed like the reviews were all of the place.
ReplyDeleteGreat list! Sister, Sister and What Alice Knew are on my list.
ReplyDeleteGreat list! The Valiant looks really fun, I'd like to try and get to it at some point.
ReplyDeleteI hope you manage to read a few of these. I have The Valiant on my wishlist.
ReplyDeleteThis was a long post title and I tried to shorten it lol. I won a copy of The Vault of Dreams from Goodreads and I still haven't read it. I hope you enjoy The Valiant. I just finished the sequel and really liked it.
ReplyDeleteI haven’t read any of these either! I hope you love them all when you do get to them though. 😀
ReplyDeleteSister sister seems like a good suspense read.

I love Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Such fun. :-) I haven't read any of the other books on your list, but a couple are ones I would like to eventually. Murder in the Secret Garden, especially. :-)
ReplyDeleteOoh, The Song of the Current and The Valiant are still on my TBR too! And so is The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy!
