Sunday Post #82

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.
It's Monday! What Are You Reading is hosted by Sheila at Book Journey

Another quiet week on the blog, I got some reading done and I've been binging on Agent Carter (that show rocks). If you haven't been watching it I highly recommend it, it's a lot of fun.

My Hardy Boys project is going well, I reviewed The Short-Wave Mystery here. I'm enjoying this so much I've sketched out an informal schedule through March or so- in addition to my usual reads, I'll be doing more of these reviews and may include some other ones as well. I read Trixie Belden as a kid so I may give those a try. So keep an eye out for The Mystery off Glen road in the next few weeks. I appreciate everyone who comes by to comment on these- it's been fun to go a bit retro!

I purchased some art from one of my favorite artists this week- you can click here and here to see some of my favorites.

Happy Valentine's Day to everyone celebrating it.

The Attic interviewed Rather Be Reading YA last week

Read Me away announced their Away To Fairy Tale Land event- you can check that out here.

Fantasy Is More Fun and Books Movies Reviews Oh MY had some fun posts this week- they invited several cozy mystery writers to write competing endings to a mystery setup. Check out their posts- they were a lot of fun.

  1. I couldn't watch the clips (guess I'm in the wrong country), but I'll make sure to watch the show, you got me interested. I'd love to see what you think of the Girl on the train and am glad you're enjoying yourself with the Hardy boys ;)

    1. You too, and thank you. I think you'll like AC, it it a lot of fun, nice humor and they are fast. It's a great show and I'll miss it when it's off.

  3. I saw the first couple of episodes of Agent Carter and I like Peggy so much! But Stark is a bit of an idiot, so I'm hoping we won't be seeing too much of him... I know the whole lone-woman-working-a-man's-job is done this way on purpose, but MAN, it must have been shit being a woman 50 years ago...

    1. I hear ya, I like the angle they're playing up with her having to navigate the postwar worls, and the challenges she faces. They're doing a great job with that, I think.

  4. The Hardy Boys and Girl on the Train, that's quite a mix.

I'm curious about Agent Carter but I haven't watched SHIELD, do I need to?

    1. That is quite the mix, isn't it? :) I like Agent Carte a lot, but the other one- not so much. I don't think you're missing much, it didn't do anything for me.

    1. Hulu has it I think... and ABC. I like the timeframe, the '40's and they do a good job with that I think. A fun show!

  10. Trixie Belden! I might have to join you in rereading some of those. I loved Trixie almost as much as I loved Nancy Drew.

    1. Maybe you could do those as part of your retro reads- we could compare notes :) I like how you did recap of your books, I was going to try but like you said, it takes forver. So I'm kinda winging it as I go, but it would be fun to see some othe rtakes on these. Have a great weekend! :)

    2. I already pulled the book! You can post yours first since mine are more extensive and I'll try to post mine later the same week. The 26th and March 12 are reserved for Middle School Madness, but the weeks including March 5 or 19 would work for me. Just let me know when yours is going up and I'll see if I can fit it in.

    3. That's awesome. I can do March 3rd, if that works- if not let me know. I'm lookig forward to your recap style- I like those detailed synopses. I think it'll be fun!

    4. That will work for me. Since I do mine on Thursdays, yours will go up on the 3rd and mine two days later. Sounds like fun! I'll go set up my post now so I don't forget it.

  17. I haven't heard of Agent Carter... must check it out. Perhaps it's not here in Australia yet!

I can't believe you're going to read some Trixie Belden's (I know I mentioned last time I loved them). I worry that I'll read them now and find them SO disappointing (even taking my 35-40 year target age disparity into consideration!)
