A friend of mine is going to the Lansing Comic convention on Saturday and invited me to meet them over there. In other news... Maybe I don't understand how it works but my views are telling me I had over 100 thousand hits last week.

    Sounds like google messed something up. Unless you're using some other company to keep watch on that?

    Same thing happened to me that the traffic increases 10 folds. Maybe some bots crawled onto our pages.

    Yeah, I get a lot of hits and then I notice my post isn't even in the feed..and I went a little bonkers about it..like is my blog even showing up?

    Maybe I just need to relax..as in take a swim or something..but always something to worry about and all the fireworks in the neighborhood just make things more tense. Hope you have a great time at the convention❤️❤️❤️❤️💙💙💙💙

    Over 100,000 hits? That's awesome. I don't know how it works and I'm always pleasantly surprised about my hits too, so if you figure it out, please let me know.

    I went from my usual 7K-8K hits a month to almost 20K over the last week. I looked at the country origin and the extras are all from Singapore. At first I thought it was because of the Tiger Mom's Tale book because part of it is set in Singapore, but that post has my usual hits of around 500, and none of my other posts have extra numbers, so they all must be going to the blog itself. Unless it's on a really old post. Weird. They've been slowly declining over the last couple of days. Check and see what country they are coming from. 🤔

    I'd love to see photos from the Comicon. 📷

    And I was happy with the 4K hits I got a week ago Friday.

    Seriously, I take hit counts with a grain of salt, especially since I can look at Blogger and see that a post has X hits, but it is only show me that it has Y hits in the rankings. And the difference is always some made up amount. I don't get it.

    But I'm approaching a hits milestone, which I will still celebrate.

    Do you link your posts on social media, and did anything get shared by someone with a big following by any chance? Couple times that has happened to me, it was a case where some big author or publisher linked a review on Twitter and boom.

    Not to burst your bubble, but sudden stat increases like that could mean a bot/spam thing. I'm not sure how Blogger works but if you can see the country the stats came from, and it's not the U.S., that's probably what it is. Ugh, but if not, congrats!

    I usually figure a big jump like that was a bot attack, but it's more fun to think you've suddenly gone viral! :-) Thanks for sharing the cabin lo-fi; I enjoyed it.
