This week is Top Ten Books I Bought/ Borrowed Because... reasons. I'm going with mostly stuff I bought for the cover.
The premise of this one was the draw for me.
The covers of these drew me in but the story and premise are way awesome too!
This is one of my fave covers.
Great cover even if I didn't love the book
Cover adoration
How many times have I used for Top Ten? Love the cover and the book.
I think I read about "Panic" WAY back when, but wasn't interested enough to pick it up. Pretty sure I remember the same being true of 'Wrecked Girls,' but golly, the cover does make it seem interesting!! :)
ReplyDeleteI really like the cover for The Shark Club. So much eye-popping color.
ReplyDeleteThe Extinction Trials has a pretty awesome cover. Sometimes the pulp covers you share are so interesting too!
ReplyDeleteYou know I love Bad Girls with Beautiful Faces!! And Panic is one of the only Lauren Oliver books I haven't read!! I gotta get on that!
ReplyDeleteI love those Extinction Trials covers! I was glad that the series was as good as the covers!
ReplyDeleteI can see why these covers caught your eye. The Extinction Trials certainly caught mine.

I read Panic, and liked it, but wasn't wowed. The Blue is really good, but I do love all her books. Vitro has an intriguing cover, going to look it up. Stay safe Greg.
ReplyDeleteVitro really does have one of the best covers.
ReplyDeleteLots of people seem to have done covers this week! The only one of these I've read is Panic, and I actually didn't like it that much, I hope you enjoy it more.

I enjoyed Panic and Vitro. The Extinction Trials seems right up my street and I love the cover but I haven't read it yet. I often judge a book by it's cover and usually they turn out to be what I expect.
ReplyDeleteAll of these books have great covers. No wonder they grabbed your attention!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT .
Great list! I don't usually like covers with people on them, but I do like the cover of Panic.
ReplyDeleteI've never really bought a book solely based on the cover, but The Blue pulls me in every time!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally guilty of cover buys too. These are some good ones!
ReplyDeleteThe A Map for Wrecked Girls cover is stunning!
ReplyDeleteI wish I wasn't such a cover whore but I really am! I still get suckered into reading stuff based on the cover alone LOL!
ReplyDeleteYou've got a little bit of an ocean theme going on in some of those covers. That always attracts me, too. :)
ReplyDeleteSo is the water theme on purpose or do you just have a whole lotta books with water on the cover? :)
ReplyDeleteI liked Panic a lot. I heard it was being adapted. Wonder if that's still happening.
ReplyDeleteThese are great covers and books I would also buy, based on the cover! I do it so very often and no shame! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker for a great cover, too! The ones you lift are all striking, but I haven't read any of them yet. THE BLUE is one I'm looking forward to, though.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
Those covers are all so pretty! I don’t blame you for getting them for their covers, I hope the books were as good as they look like they should be. I love The Shark Club cover, it really catches the eye. That might be slipped into my basket soon enough.
ReplyDeleteThat cover looks seriously Hitchcock-esque! I love all the others you shared. The Blue has been calling me since you first reviewed it. Love the beachy but not typical beachy look to it.
ReplyDeleteI TOTALLY read Panic for the cover, too! I hadn't read any of her other books yet.
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I really need to check out Panic!

So many amazing covers! The Extinction Trials has quite a striking cover. Thanks for sharing these.
ReplyDeleteI love the cover for A Map For Wrecked Girls!

"because... reasons" is going to forever be a mood 😂
ReplyDeleteI bought The Extinction Trials for the cover too 😃It's so beautiful! Great list, Greg!
I like the cover for A Night for Screaming -- especially that she's running with a gun. She's not to be messed with! I like the cover for The Girl From the Sea -- it's so dramatic!
ReplyDeleteI definitely want to try A Map for Wrecked Girls - that cover looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteYou know the sad part here? Straight up HALF of these could be on a list of my own making called "books I bought because Greg said they were good". So your cover buys... became MY purchases haha. And sadly, the only one I have read is Panic! Well, and the first Extinction Trials book!
ReplyDeleteI have quite a few books I've bought because of cover love too. I love those water covers.
ReplyDeleteThese covers are indeed stunning! I haven't even seen the first one before but now I'm intrigued!
ReplyDeleteI picked up Panic because of the premise as well! And I love the covers for The Extinction Trials, but I still need to read them...
ReplyDeleteSome books just have the absolute best covers. I don't buy a book JUST because of the cover, but it definitely makes me stop and look at the summary if the cover is awesome.
