So I have a couple of ducks living in my yard. They've been coming every morning and eating the birdseed and I'm kinda liking having them around? I live in a subdivision and still get a fair amount of critters- a hawk has been showing up at times also-but lately these ducks have been coming every day.
Let's see- this week I stumbled across randomstreetview.com. I saw it on Twitter- you click a button and it takes you to a random country- and you can then just sightsee, sort of. It's like Google Earth where you can just click around random roadways. I'm looking at Arzen, France right now.
Be safe this week!
Song of the week
NEW ARRIVAL/ UPCOMING REVIEWS:
We should all go to France, my goodness. I have lots of animals that enjoy my garbage. I enjoy them less. The ducks sound cute! There is a duck family that lives in this protected pond by my development, and they are snarky as HELL. Like these ducks give you LOOKS. It's kind of hilarious. Love the pictures you found, as always!
ReplyDeleteMy family and I have gotten an unusual amount of joy just by watching the animals around the backyard. I mean, we see squirrels all the time, and yet whenever someone spots one, we all feel the need to acknowledge it lol. There was a cat in the yard today and we all flocked to the window. I guess that’s what you do when you’re bored!
ReplyDeleteOur neighborhood has 6-8 ponds/water features sprinkled throughout so there are always ducks wandering around. :) Sometimes at the ponds, sometimes in yards, sometimes taking a stroll down the sidewalks. I always enjoy them. :)
ReplyDeleteRandom street view took me to Yucatan, Mexico. That's a pretty cool site! And we get a lot of wildlife where we are too, but not so much these days because I don't have my bird feeders out. Other than the birds, deer and stuff would be coming to eat my bird seed, it's crazy, lol.
ReplyDelete~Mogsy @ BiblioSanctum
I like ducks as they seem to have a bit of personality about them! We get them wandering along our street quite often as I stay quite close to a park. We get lots of foxes too and the odd sparrowhawk.
ReplyDeleteYou find the best stuff Greg, that video of Indian music is <3
ReplyDeleteI love the bird/squirrel feeder! So cool. Are those coconuts? I wonder who is going to eat them, lol.
ReplyDeleteRainforest is what I wish my backyard looked like instead of overgrown jungle :)
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great reading week and good health
That last one need a UF story
ReplyDeleteI love that the ducks are visiting you regularly. :-) In the mornings when I am working from home, I open the windows and love hearing the birds singing as the sun comes up. Thank you for sharing the link to randomstreetview.com. I look forward to seeing where it takes me! I hope you are enjoying your reading. Have a good coming week! Stay safe and well.
ReplyDeleteI picture Elysium as more of an endless meadow.
ReplyDeleteDon't trust the ducks, Greg! Never trust a duck. On a serious note, that's so cute they are coming over and visiting everyday; it brightens it a little bit outside of what's going on.
ReplyDeleteRandom Street View looks fun! It took me to Iowa (wow that's close, haha) and then it shuffled me off to Swaziland.
I've never heard of Random Street View. I'll have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteI love the cover for Nightmare at Noon.
We had ducks growing up. I don't miss them in my yard, but I still like watching them. That's fun! I love looking at the art you pick every week. I wish I was so talented. :) Have a wonderful week and stay well!
ReplyDeleteMy Weekly Update
Wow that sounds so wonderful. I miss living in an apartment with place for these things. Stay safe!

How cute that you get ducks! We have so many birds singing very loudly this year - it's amazing! And it's become so much quieter where I live. We have a big road going just behind our yard, so it's often a bit noisy during the day, now, we're kind of shocked when we hear a car.
ReplyDeleteIt's funny that you're visiting cities with this new thing, Greg. I had one of my classes go on a virtual museum visit last week, and they loved it. They had to answer some questions on a google form, so that I could see which museum they chose and so on - but it was definitely a success.
Have a wonderful week ahead - stay safe and healthy!

Another eye catching post. I love the tagline on the pulp cover of the week.
ReplyDeleteLynn :D
Aw, how lovely to have some new duck friends in your garden - My grandad sometimes gets a pair in his garden, which he loves to see. Sadly my garden is a little quiet apart from one robin, a usual pair of goldfinches and, unusually, a lot of bees. I hope you have a nice coming week and maybe get some more wildlife visiting your garden in this lockdown.
ReplyDeleteRandom street view is just what I need, I have been doing some indoor urban sketching via google streetview, but this just makes it easy to find new interesting locations. Thanks
ReplyDeleteAw, I'd love to have some ducks drop by. Love watching nature. Have a good week Greg.
ReplyDeletehaha! That bird feeder is a lovely idea! I'd love that. I'm a big bird watcher - from my own garden.
ReplyDeleteReclamation - it's kind of happening now, with less people on the roads birds and animals are settling down in the most unusual of places. Did you see the birds making the next inside a station? I'm just a bit worried about when the cars start up again, it could be a dangerous time for them.
Here is my Sunday Post. Stay safe. Take care x
Good Girls Lie looks good Greg.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love ducks.. there’s something peaceful about watching them I think.
Stay safe and happy reading.
Cool about street view and the ducks and bird feeder also. I've been watching the birds in the morning from my kitchen window lately and I want to get a bird feeder to keep them around.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your reading this week and be well.
That website sounds cool, is it prerecorded or live? Either way cool! Enjoy the ducks :) have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you get to see some wildlife! We have a family of woodpeckers we see daily and a resident garden snake. I used to see deer, fox, etc in my neighborhood but there are too many people here now. I'm missing my deep woods adventures which is where I see the most of them!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week! :)
I vote we need pictures of the ducks! :D
ReplyDeleteRandom street view is a pretty neat idea. I like that. When we lived in Florida, we had so many critters living in our yard. My dad would battle with the ducks, who nested in his flower beds. He ended up filling the space in with rocks, which the ducks also nested in. I enjoyed watching them. The ospreys, ibises, and egrets were cool too.
ReplyDeleteThat website sounds pretty cool! I mean, anything to get us out of the house (kind of), right?
ReplyDeleteHow fun that you have ducks who come around daily. That randomstreetview site sounds neat with how you can explore cities that way. I added that India music to my watch later list as that sounds like something I might enjoy.
ReplyDeleteDucks are so cute. I definitely don't see any of them out here in the desert, but we get gambles quail. I always get excited when they stop by the house for some bird seed.
ReplyDeleteGreg I really wonder where random street view would take you in Belgium!!! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteRandom street view sounds interesting. I love ducks. My daughter is a big fan of the also/
ReplyDeleteI love the random street thing! I spent way too long with it when I first discovered it!
ReplyDeleteI live in the country so we have all sorts of wildlife and right now I have squirrels living where they shouldn't! My roof! They got inside and I can hear them running all around. We shot one but it's hard to catch them out where we can get them!
ReplyDeleteStay safe and happy reading!

LOVE the artwork! :D
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check out that beautiful India music when my kids aren't trying to watch TV in the same room. ;) We've got geese (and goose poop) in our yard and on our street for the first time. Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteI love the sounds of the ducks, Greg - what a treat:). We have seagulls nesting on the roof next door. The video of the kayak looks sublime - thank you for sharing. I hope you have a peaceful week, Greg:)
ReplyDeleteWe have ducks in our yard too. I love watching them.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week! Stay safe!
Aaaw, yay for ducks! That random street view sounds both fun and creepy.
ReplyDeleteThe website sounds fun! I'll have to come up with some places and do some virtual traveling. That's lovely about the ducks. Ducklings are some of the cutest things ever.
ReplyDeleteI live in a subdivision and so don't see much wildlife, but I was doing laundry late one night in our basement and saw shadows moving past the basement window. Freaked me out but I made myself go upstairs and look outside to see what was out there. It was 4 deer snacking on acorns that we had swept up into a pile at the back of our property line, lol.
ReplyDeleteOoh, thanks for sharing Random Street View - I know what I'll be doing for awhile now!
ReplyDeleteWe have a couple of daily duck visitors too! We live between a lake and a suburban pond, so they seemed to land on our property one day and just waddled around. I love ducks, they're so charming and I love their little walk.
ReplyDeleteThe ducks sound like they are giving you some enjoyment. I love watching birds like hawks and how they seem to glide and swoop. Hope you enjoy your reading and viewing and say safe.
ReplyDeleteHa! Lots of people have become animal observers these weeks. Or maybe there are more animals to watch because we rarely go out and they feel less threatened!
ReplyDeleteOff the Grid looks sooo creepy, with that teddy bear's eyes glowing...
Random Street View sounds like fun. I am always happy to visit France however I can!
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous of your ducks! LOL. I love them. I was just telling my sister-in-law that I was going to build a pond in my yard to try to entice them to live here.
ReplyDeleteKeep on keeping on Greg! And thanks for the recommendation to watch Blow the Man Down, we loved it!
I like the images, especially Reclamation. I found myself just studying it.
ReplyDeleteI am eager to read your thoughts on Good Girls Lie.
Have a great week, and thanks for visiting my blog.
Your backyard sounds so peaceful. I've seen a handful of cardinals but that's about it.
ReplyDeleteI bet your ducks are mallards, male and female. A friend has them. We used to, several years ago. There's not even water around us, we are in a suburb of Chicago by the way, but yes bird feed. They would come everyday for weeks, we called them Henri and Henriette. lol
ReplyDeleteOh the randomstreetview is so cool, thanks! Enjoy your reading!
Love the graphics! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteOur new neighborhood has fewer critters than our old one. There we saw deer and the occasional bear wandering through the yard. Come see my week here. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteWhen I lived in FL for 10 months I befriended a duck. I loved that little guy. We always feed the birds who chill in our backyard. Stay safe and happy reading!
ReplyDeleteWe don't see a lot of wildlife in our yard since we have the three dogs. I have been noticing flowers and other things more than I usually do since the pandemic started. I just spent way too much time checking out the random places from the link you shared. Very cool. I hope you have a great week and stay safe!
ReplyDeleteI love ducks! We have lots of them here, and they’re my favorite birds. I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
The ducks sound lovely. Are they messy? We lived on a lake and had geese...talk about mining the fields...yikes!
ReplyDeleteI'm seeing lots of hawks right now. They nest in the trees across from my yard and train their chicks to fly and fish in the fish pond behind my house.
ReplyDeleteThat random street thingy is addictive. I started looking at all the beautiful homes near Belgium, then decided to take a trip to Switzerland and ended up going down a one way street!!!!(lol) OMG - What in the world is wrong with me, Gorgeous Greg?!(lol) But that didn't stop me, and I started checking out other places too. Thanks for sharing that and making my night! Hugs, RO
ReplyDeleteYou have ducks visiting? Love it. One thing I am liking about being stuck at home is that I can sit and watch all the animals that visit my garden as I work along with looking at the animals on the playing field at the back of my house and it's so interesting. Can't name any birds to save my life (unless it's a pigeon) but it's fun seeing them hop about. And I feel like I see the most butterflies in the gardens by me than I have in years. Random street view sounds like fun, might as well sightsee stuck at home, am I right?
ReplyDeleteDucks! Thats fabulous. 😍
ReplyDeleteI am definitely going to check out the random street view site! Thanks for sharing, and thanks for sharing the traveling bird feeder. It's very calming. 😌
I hope you having been having a goid week. 🌞
Aw how cute! Ducks! My parents get ducks at their house and other critters. We don't get many at ours since we live in a townhome community. Although there are a lot of crows lol
ReplyDeleteWe used to have a pair of ducks that would come hang out in our pool every spring before we had it opened. I loved them!
ReplyDeleteNicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
Ah ducks ... they can be so lovely and nice. But be aware that you don´t make a male duck jealous. No kidding. They can bite, my dad once made that experience with our ducks.
ReplyDeleteI like ducks. It'd be cool to see them in the garden. Most we get is blackbirds, wood pigeons and hedgehogs. :)
