Her kisses were a prelude to death
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new Top Ten list will be posted. Everyone is welcome to join. Link back so everyone can check out other bloggers' lists. It's a fun way to get to know fellow bloggers.
This week is a book cover freebie. Freebies are always fun, although in this case I wasn't sure how I wanted to do this. I decided to go with water covers. There's something about water, isn't there, on a book cover?
I feel like I am often drawn to blue covers. I recently colour coded my shelves and found an influx of blue, especially ones with water on them! I think it’s because I buy a lot of my books in the summer, and thus they usually have a summery/beachy theme to them.
ReplyDeleteOoo! "The Deep End" looks fun (*makes note to look this one up*) and "The Honeymooner" could be a fun read (which I am always all about!). Happy Top Ten Tuesday. :)
ReplyDeleteEven though they happen so often, I always end up loving the covers with the girls striking dance poses in gowns underwater. They're just so enchanting to me. :D
ReplyDeleteMy favorite covers are the ones you always find as your opener. Ha! I modified this week's topic, though you can see my favorite books with their covers! My favorite YA Books of the decade with covers.
ReplyDeleteTrue, there is something about water. And blue is my favorite color as well. Nice list.
ReplyDeleteWater covers are always pretty. I quite like Into the Water.
ReplyDeleteI'm always drawn to covers with water, especially a crystal clear pool. It could be about a serial killer hacking victims to death and it just feels so incredibly calming. Also makes me want a backgarden pool even more.
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I really like the cover of The Vacationers, and there's something so haunting about the cover of The Water Cure.
ReplyDeleteCool idea for a cover post!
ReplyDeleteThe Vacationers is such a picture perfect view of a well, vacation. I look at that and I want to be on the water there.
ReplyDeleteI do like water on book covers-the sea, mountain lakes, winding rivers, waterfalls...maybe a few sharks swimming about!
ReplyDeleteThese are all really pretty!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty but where is The Shark Club? Doesn't it have water or an I thinking of the wrong cover? I thought for sure I'd see it here :)
ReplyDeleteI like water covers a lot as well. Especailly in January when it feels like we'll never see warm weather again. :)
ReplyDeleteMy TTT .
Great idea for the theme, Greg. It's amazing how many water covers there are. I especially love Into the Water and The Underwater Ballroom Society😁
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun take on this week's topic! I especially like the covers for The Blue and The Underwater Ballroom Society. Here is my Top Ten Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteYou're Lonely When You're Dead is a title that made me not even notice the beautiful blue water in the background, Gorgeous Greg.(lol) Hugs and Happy Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteanything to do with water gets my attention! they all look good to me
ReplyDeletesherry @ fundinmental
Water covers can be really neat but when the person is under the water it kinda freaks me out.
ReplyDeleteYou're Lonely When You're Dead. LOL. I hope not... I love all those old covers you share at the beginning every week.
ReplyDeleteI like water on covers, too. I have at least 2 on my list this week -- Ten Tiny Breaths and Left Drowning.
I love water covers. There's something so tranquil yet sometimes so haunting about them. :)
ReplyDeleteNot sure why, but water on a cover always gives me such an eerie, intriguing vibe, even if it ends up being a fluffy read :) love these covers though!
ReplyDeleteI like these water covers. The only one I read is 'The underwater ballroom society' which I really dislike, the stories are just so bland. Amazing cover though.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
Some of these are so captivating. Really like the tones in The Water Cure.
ReplyDeleteAny cover that shows water, rain, or lakes catches me.
ReplyDeleteWater covers are gorgeous and depending on what the story is about can make everything that much more creepy and chest tightening ♡
ReplyDeleteAhhh, I love these covers!! Now, I want to go swimming. haha!
ReplyDeleteTop Ten Tuesday
It’s surprising how many covers feature water in some form. I’m excited to get to I Found You. I just recently finished The Family Upstairs and it was the perfect reminder of why I love Lisa Jewel so much.
ReplyDeleteI knew I would be in for another treat! The first one is so creepy, lol.
ReplyDeleteI featured my top ten book covers of the decade: https://wordsandpeace.com/2020/01/28/top-ten-book-covers-of-the-decade/
omg that first cover is something else.
ReplyDeleteI love water covers!!!
Well, you really are lonely when you are dead
ReplyDeleteBut do you know you're lonely if you're dead??? Hmmmm lol
ReplyDeleteKaren @ For What It's worth
I love a good water cover! I especially like the one on The Blue, I really need to get to that one!
ReplyDeleteNice choice. All these water covers are great. The Underwater Ballroom Society is especially nice. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the Honeymooner. It gives off a great vibe, which I think totally matches the book
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting how differently water is used on book covers. Could be cozy, calming, threatening, terrifying, etc. Just depends.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
I'm a big fan of summer and swimming, so I like the ones you put up today with the people around the pool.
ReplyDeleteYes, there is something about bodies of water on books, it always comes across as very mysterious.
ReplyDeleteI gotta agree with you, there is always something particularly fascinating when it comes to book covers with water as part of the design. My fascination could also be because I LOVE water and my dream is to live in a place surrounded by it! <3
ReplyDeleteFun pick. It's interesting what the cover artists can do with water. All so different, but arresting.
ReplyDeleteI do like the mix of water destinations, if you will, on these covers. Water is definitely a cool medium for books!

I love swimming Greg but some of your covers were ...threatening! Like Jaws or something like that LOL
ReplyDeleteThe water covers are fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI love your cover theme for this week. Water covers are always favorites of mine. :)
ReplyDeleteCool theme, I was soooo not creative this week.
ReplyDeleteI knew you'd find great covers! And I think I'm going to start ominously telling people, "You're lonely when you're dead." Ha!
ReplyDeleteOf course you went with water covers. Ha! What else would you do?
ReplyDeleteI love the covers for Into the Water and The Water Cure. Nice theme this week!
ReplyDeleteLOVE water covers! I think they're my second favorite, after pretty space covers. These are great choices, too!
ReplyDeleteWater can be super soothing or super creepy for me.
ReplyDeleteI love watching it but the unknown of what could be/is swimming around beneath me freaks me out.
Water themed book covers just re-enforce my like/dislike, lol.
Water covers always seem mysterious.
ReplyDeleteOoh that is a good tagline!
ReplyDeletewater covers are the best! DID YOU GET INTO THE WATER for free?? They must be running a marketing plan because I've seen it everywhere :) Hope it is goo d:)
ReplyDeleteI like your list of water themed books.
