This was a good week. I got some reading in, The 100 and Riverdale are humming along, and the last few reads have been awesome. Plus I have a ton of (hopefully) good books in the pipeline. I read the City of the Lost sequel and am reading Winter of the Gods. It's been an interesting week politically. The guy who chanted "lock her up" (referring to Clinton) had to resign/ was fired after three weeks. That has to be a new record.
Otherwise not much happening. I've sorta got spring fever with the nicer weather we've had- I don't know it just seems like this winter went by kinda fast? I mean it's almost March!
This week I reviewed Freeks and The 100. And Riverdale. I'm liking that show. I've got reviews coming up for Six Wakes and this week will be Moon Called. And I got Crooked Kingdom in the mail- thanks again to Maria at A Night's Dream of Books for the giveaway!

Cover Characteristics this past week was about playing cards. Tuesday Tagline was all about trust. My Top Ten looked at romance for Valentine's Day. I also reviewed Freeks, the new episode of The 100 and Riverdals as well. And of course Bookcover Spotlight #88.

I'm definitely glad for the warmer weather, although I think it's still been a bit chilly here, at least at night, since I haven't had to turn the AC on much for the past few days.
I know, it's depresing. And Six Wakes should be up NEXT week- I'm thinking- I'm only getting a review a week up lately. although it's all done. :) And yeah Crooked Kingdom- can't wait to read those!
DeleteThat's a problem I'd love to have re: the AC lol, I don't have that problem at the moment. Although I did have the window open today- it was great til the sun went down, the it was COLD.
US politics certainly isn't dull at the moment-same with the UK. I'm shouting various swear words at Tony Blair every time he appears on TV with his 'rise up and overturn the EU Ref result' crap! I want to headbutt that guy, seriously. This was the guy who objected to anti-war protest marches when he put our troops in Iraq but thinks the people should demonstrate against Brexit which we democratically voted for??? Hypocrite! Sorry, *climbs down from soap box* I can't believe it's nearly March...need to get more reading in!

DeleteI'm enjoying SNL now almost as much as I did back in the 70s and 80s! Hard to believe. Hope the once weather continues... maybe spring will come early?!

DeleteI hope you are having a relaxing Saturday. It feels good to have finally reached the weekend on my end. Been way too busy around here. We are itchin' for some spring weather around here as well. I want to get out and walk and my 9 year old gets grumpy when her recess, high bar swingin' time is taken away from a wet day of weather. I have that Moon Called series on my list for this year. I'll get to it once my holds are completed and I clean that area up with some knock out reading. I don't know if I'll have a post this Monday. I'm halfway through my two reads right now but have clackin' needles of fury to get some knitting done. Have a good weekend.

DeleteI think I'm coming down with a little bit of spring fever too though while the temps are okay it's pouring down rain so I end up just being restless! I've been really curious about Patricia Briggs lately so I'll be interested to see what you think of her book. My library just got a bunch of them on audio and I really want to try them.

ReplyDeleteI finally got a chance to watch all of the Melissa McCarthy SNL skits. They were so good! I had seen the Alec Baldwin ones but didn't see hers. She's so funny!!
I still haven't checked out the 100! Everyone seems to love it so eventually I'm going to have to break down and give it a try.

I have to agree with Kristen (above) that our politics can be quite depressing. Some days I need a laugh and others I just want to retreat to some fantasy world.

DeleteNow I can't vene express my feeling about the political situation in the US, It all feels like a very VERY bad joke that never ends. It did feel like we had no winter whatsoever so that's good! DeleteMoon Called was a great book. My husband and I devoured the audio books for the first seven books within a few short months. I just received the audio for the 9th book that releases next month. SO excited! Lauren - Obsessive Book Nerd

Ugh politics. So much is going on right now in India because of elections going on in some states, plus the banter between the politicians is actually hilarious. I hate Winter, so I am glad that it will be getting over soon! Have a great week ahead, looking forward to your upcoming reviews :)

Yeah...I'm feeling pretty much the way you are about the weather. I watched no TV this week except for the movie The King's Speech on Netflix, which I thought was really good. Have a great week!

It did feel like winter went by pretty fast and we never really got much winter weather here.

The SNL sketches kill me, ha ha. It's above normal here, too, but we ydsually get socked with a giant snow storm in the beginning of March, so I am not going to greet spring quite yet. I am just happy we didn't get those weeks and weeks of subzero weather that stretched on until April like we had the last couple of years. Have a wonderful week. :)

Some great photos there. I hope your winter continues to disappear but it can always return can't it to bite you just when you think its gone. Ah yes, politically an interesting time. On our news tonight I saw a woman saying in the U.S. " Stop picking on Trump, he isn't a politician so he doesn't always say it right!" Hello! he just put his hand up for one of the biggest political jobs, so no excuses.

ReplyDeleteHere in the UK (Wales to be specific), winter feels like it has been dragging on, but in the last week the temps have risen a little and February has pretty much flown by compared to January, so I'm very much eager to see the arrival of spring now. Hopefully not too long to go...
