Sunday Post 537

This was a good week. Christmas went well and the girls are home for break. We had lasagna and my aunt's fabulous meatballs for dinner. What did everyone have for their holiday meal?

I've mostly been playing Lord of the Rings Online this week. With my daughter home we compete for the computer since it doesn't run on her Mac or a Chromebook.

This week's discussion post is Favorite Book Titles

Here is this week's lyric.
I've got a surprise especially for you

Here is the lyric f/ last week and the answer

Came in from a rainy Thursday on the avenue
Thought I heard you talking

  1. We had bagels, cream cheese and vege-bacon for our Christmas breakfast.
Now we have about 3 days worth of chinese food for new years. We started early, hahahahaa!

  2. Oh, sounds like a good weekend planned! First biscuits and sausage. I didn't have my blueberry biscuits..so sometime, this weekend for sure. And we thawed out a pecan pie, but didn't realize we had to bake the apple crumb pie...so we did that the day after. We have so many leftover to eat...still. & I forgot to tell you, I've still got blood in my eye. But they didn't take me to the lazar room since I can still see so well. Plus, that doctor was on overload yesterday and a couple people did end up the lazar room. Gotta say that is some vintage bookcover!

I listened to Cheap Trick on the way home yesterday from the Doctor and I think I appreciate them more now.

Here's to some good gaming! & a great New Year..I guess I will have blackeyed peas in something...with cornbread no less!

    2. Hope the gaming is going well this weekend. I dunno if I'll even be up to ring in the new year tomorrow. I don't think it's one of those years where I will dry to drink a whole bottle of wine..just to see if I can do it. I still throw up.

  5. Lasagna and meatballs sounds divine. Yum! Christmas Eve when everyone was over is always heavy appetizers. Snacky things. Christmas Day is a much smaller group so I had a tiny ham. (I actually don't care much for ham and would have rather had your lasagna. LOL)

  6. I am a pasta-ho, so I would have gladly sat at your table. We had Polish ham, baked mac and cheese, red and white cabbage (German style), Knadles, and my daughter made a linzer tart

  7. We had ham, cheesy potatoes and yummy cheesecake bars for our Christmas Eve dinner. And blueberry pancakes Christmas morning. Got any fun plans for New Year's Eve?

  8. Glad you were able to have a family reunion with the girls...and good food. I didn't have anything special for Christmas. I mean, for obvious reasons, I should be the one cooking it, so...heck, I need some rest far more than I need special holiday food LOL.

  9. We were going to spend Christmas Eve with friends but they got sick last-minute so Corey and I had pizza, lol. It's okay, though. We enjoyed ourselves and each other's company. I'm glad you had a good Christmas and get to spend time with your daughters.

  11. Lasagna sounds amazing! We had pot roast sliders and lots of finger food and it was fun but a lot of cooking! I hope you have a wonderful week!

  12. I made two roasted chickens, rice, potatoes, veggies, and cheesecake. It was only me and my children, but I felt like making it special. Usually we go out to family for huge feasts, but I welcomed a quiet night in with my girls. I hope you have a wonderful time ringing in the new year with your family!! XOXO

  19. Glad you had a nice holiday! It's nice when everyone is home. My sister in Scotland didn't make it home this year, and then my cousin who lives in Georgia wasn't able to make it up for family celebration on Friday because her cat was sick and they didn't want to leave, which we all understood because we all have pets! I keep thinking about getting Sims for my Macbook, but then I know I would get even less reading and blogging done, lol. Happy New Year!

  25. Christmas was my dad's cooking -- turkey and roast potatoes and veg, as he's done most years I remember. He says next year's the last time, but I bet we'll find a new tradition and take care of him for a bit next time.

Glad you had a good time! And man, so tempted to get back into LOTRO -- do they have events at this time of year? I remember something wintery with mini-games, I think, but it's been a bit too long...

  26. We celebrated yesterday with my family, as Eleanor had to be with her father for Christmas this year. It was the first normal Christmas we have had since 2019, and it was a good one. We played games and ate delicious food and it was so good. This year we had pasta, which is no the norm, but it was good nonetheless. Happy New Year!
