Favorite Book Titles III

River of Teeth (River of Teeth #1)

Here's part three of my Favorite Book Titles. The more I dig into book titles the more I find that I like, so here's a new batch. Let me know in the comments which you like!

TARZAN AND THE JEWELS OF OPAR

Does anything scream old school, pulpy adventure than this? Opar is a lost city full of undiscovered jewels and wealth... but it's not just free for the taking. Good stuff.

Tarzan and the Jewels of Opar (Tarzan, #5)

TARZAN AND THE LEOPARD MEN

Definitely gets my attention.

Tarzan and the Leopard Men (Tarzan, #18)

EIGHT HUNDRED GRAPES

TOTALLY switching gears now. I like the simplicity of this one and it had me really curious (the book explains that eight hundred grapes is roughly what it takes to make a bottle of wine).

Eight Hundred Grapes

LOVE AND GELATO

I mean what's not to like?

Love & Gelato

PANIC

Panic (Panic, #1)

THE SECRET HISTORY OF US

  1. That's really cool about the Eight Hundred Grapes title! I like titles like that, that don't really make sense out of context but sound cool anyway, then you read the book and understand the context. And I've always kind of liked one-word titles, but I do think they can backfire for authors since there are usually like 20 books with the same title lol.

    1. I thought so! And I do too- it's like sometimes what does THAT title mean? And then it all makes sense in the context of the story. And yeah a good one word title gets me every time...

Also, I find River of Teeth fascinating, there's just something about that cover . . . Looks quite adventurous!

  8. I thought of another one which you first book cover reminded me of: The Forest of Hands and Teeth. Great zombie book.

  9. Oooh these are good! I had no idea that was what Eight Hundred Grapes meant! I like it! And definitely agree about Love & Gelato! River of Teeth is wonderfully weird. I bought it on sale, I should probably read it one of these days. And I like that The Journey to the Center of the Earth conjures some fun mental images too, which I think is the mark of a great title!

  10. River of Teeth is definitely one of those "I have to check out what this book is about!" titles. The title of the sequel Taste of Marrow is rather enticing too!

  17. River of Teeth also makes me check my own teeth and definitely catches my attention! I do love Eight Hundred Grapes and the Tarzan covers and titles are fantastic. I haven't really thought of book titles and what attracts me to them but you've got me thinking!

  19. You know, I've been meaning to read the Burroughs Tarzan books for years now. I was especially into Tarzan when I was a 10-year-old tomboy. Lol. Nowadays, I would appreciate Tarzan for other reasons, such as his pecs and abs.... :) But I would still love to read these adventures!

I've heard lots of good things about "Love & Gelato", so would like to read that one, too.

"River of Teeth" sounds ominous and sinister, but I'll check it out further on Goodreads.

As for "Journey to the Center of the Earth", yeah, that's another one I'd LOVE to read! I did read "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea" around the age of 12, and, of course, LOVED it! I need to read JCE, though!

Thanks for sharing your GREAT list, Greg!! And thanks for dropping by and commenting on my blog! <3 :)
