This week decided to go with SF/ fantasy, I feel like there's been a raft of under the radar, or just really good, SF books lately, and here are some recent favorites.
Judging from the covers, these look awesome! I just downloaded All Systems Red, which I saw on your blog a while ago, so I'm hoping I enjoy that one.
ReplyDeleteOh yay, I hope you like All Systems. I loved it!
DeleteThese books look intriguing Greg. I particularly like the cover of Kalahari! :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is an awesome cover, isn't it?
DeleteI have not read a single one :/
ReplyDeleteDude?!??
DeleteOoh nice! All new to me ones as well! Will have to look into a few of these!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Happy Tuesday!!
DeleteI haven't checked any of these out, but some of these covers look pretty amazing. Hugs...
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI've got All Systems Red and Rolling In The Deep on my list. Some of the others look good too, Grag.
ReplyDeleteBoth of those are good. :):)
DeleteI'm curious about Alex & Ada. Thanks for sharing!!
ReplyDelete-lauren
I liked Alex and Ada a lot!
DeleteNot my top genre so I haven't read any of them but I've seen you talk about them on your blog so I know of them.
ReplyDeleteI've showcased a few before ha ha!
DeleteI really enjoyed Six Wakes. There are a few wishlist books on here that I haven't read yet. So little time. :(
ReplyDeleteI know, and Six Wakes was quite good.
DeleteBook about Murderbot sounds good (or anything with murder in title or description sounds good haha)
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you have read Mortal Engines by Philip Reeve but I think you might like that. Like London is this machine of a city that hunts for other cities.
The Murderbot book WAS good (and funny). And no I haven't heard of that book, but I will go check it out, thanx!!
DeleteI've never heard of most of these. Thanks for the recs
ReplyDeleteSure thing Sydney!
DeleteI really hope to read Rolling in the Deep sometime soon. It love the author.
ReplyDeleteOoh and the sequel is coming this fall (Rolling is just a novella but she's doing a full book that happens after).
DeleteYour books always have such great covers! Does Time Salvager involve time travel? I'm going to check that one out for sure. That Star Wars novel looks fun too!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Time Slavager IS about time travel, it's set in the future and they go back in time to harvest resources.
DeleteU have a hard time getting into Sci-Fi for whatever reason. I will check some of these titles out, maybe I`ll end up loving some.
ReplyDeleteCarmen / Carmen`s Reading Corner
I hope you find one you like!
DeleteI've heard abot Alex + Ada and should really try it some time! Kalahari looks really good too!
ReplyDeleteI liked Kalahari, and Alex and Ada is lots of fun!
DeleteI've had Six Wakes on my tbr list and never got round to it. Must try harder. There are some great covers in this lot.
ReplyDeleteSix Wakes was pretty good!
DeleteThe only one I've sort of heard about is Kalahari but I can't remember anything about it. I just looked it up on Goodreads and it sounds really interesting! Plus I love the cover. I'll have to look some of these other ones up too :)
ReplyDeleteMy TTT!
Kalahari was pretty good, and so Was Vitro, another one by the same author. They're loosely linked only by the nameless corporation behind it all. :) It does have a nice cover.
DeleteI read mostly contemporaries, but I dip my toe in the SFF pool every once in a while. Alex + Ada has me intrigued. I can get behind an AI series.
ReplyDeleteThese covers are all so gorgeous!! I'm definitely interested in Six Wakes! I'm always looking for a good sci-fi to get into!
ReplyDeleteHere are my Top Ten!
Since I don't read much Science Fiction it's not shocking that I haven't read any of them so this is a fantastic list to work with! I love the covers for Time Scavenger and Emilie and The Hollow World and I remember your review for Alex + Ada and really want to give that a try too!
ReplyDeleteSix Wakes looks really interesting. I love covers that have people that defy gravity. Thanks for the recs!
ReplyDeleteOooh so many more books I need to read! I like the sound of World of Water (it kind of reminds me of Sea Quest DSV, which I was moderately in love with hah) Six Wakes, All Systems Red, Kalahari, and Rolling in the Deep are all on my list, of course. Time Salvager looks really interesting too! Great list!!
ReplyDeleteAll systems Red I LOVED, I would recommend that one first. Rolling in the Deep is a bit slow til the mayhem starts, but she has a sequel coming so yay! And World of Water was quite good!
DeleteA few on this list I've read, a couple I was surprised to see, and a bunch more I still need to check out! I thought Kevin Hearne's Star Wars novel was pretty cool too, by the way. I know some people were turned off by the first person, but to me he didn't do a bad job writing Luke.
ReplyDelete~Mogsy @ BiblioSanctum
it's always a complicated genre for me
ReplyDeleteWorld of Water and Six Wakes sounds absolutely amazing! Time Salvager and All Systems Red also looks interesting. I love sci-fi-fi, so thanks for this. Great post :D
ReplyDeleteRekha @ Million Book Mill
ReplyDeleteI had no idea there were Star Wars novels out there. How neat.
Here is our TTT
Nice! All of these are new to me so I'm taking notes for titles to add to my TBR. Six Wakes and All Systems Red sound especially good!
ReplyDeleteWesley Chu!! He's one of the guest hosts on Writing Excuses this season. I really want to read his work.
ReplyDeleteOo I'm always looking for new fantasy/sci-fic reads! I just added Emilie and the Hollow World to my TBR list :)
ReplyDeleteI don't know any of these but love the covers for World of Water, Emilie and The Hollow World, and Kalahari. Will need to check them out further.
ReplyDeleteSomehow none of yer posts have been coming to me email. Grrrr!! I have read time salvager and loved it. Will have to check out the others!
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of any of these books except Kalahari! That too, I haven't read it..Thanks for this list Greg :)
ReplyDeleteTime Salvager was so awesome! I also recently picked up a copy of Six Wakes - it looks really promising. :)
ReplyDeleteOMG, Greg!!!! What an AWESOME, OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD (pun intended) collection you have here!! I especially like "The Complete Morgaine"!! I have read the first three books. For some reason, I never did read "Exile's Gate". I really have GOT to get this complete volume!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with the rest of the books you're featuring here, so I'm bookmarking this page so I can check each one of them out!
I want to read more SF, too, so I'm sure that some of these SF books, will be a GREAT addition to my Goodreads shelves!!
Thanks for featuring this AMAZING collection!! Hope you've had a nice week so far!! And thanks for commenting on my CWW post!! <3 <3 :) :)
I have (had) Emilie and the Hollow World, but I think I gave it to the library's used book sale. :/
ReplyDeleteOkay, I know these are 'hidden gems' but I haven't read ANY of these!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've seen a couple on your blog, but otherwise wouldn't have heard of any of these!!! Love these sorts of posts highlighting underrated books. I will be checking some of these out when I have the chance!
ReplyDeleteYou always put together the best lists, Greg. I admit when I first saw the cover of Kalahari I thought of The Chronicles of Narnia. It's the lion, I'm sure. :-) Alex + Ada really appeals to me and so does the Mira Grant book. But so do so many of the others too!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to find my way back to Scifi/fantasy reading. I'm sure this list is gonna help me! I think I'll try All system Red first ;-)
ReplyDeletegreat just added a bunch of these to my amazon wishlist :D
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of ANY of these. Which is why it's a great thing you spotlighted some of these hidden gems. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, as always, for visiting Finding Wonderland, Greg.
Added world of water to me list. Thanks matey!
