The first weekend of December is here and it's a nice morning as I write this. It's been a quiet week on the blog but I did get through a few reads and will have a few reviews up this week.
I'm still panning my reads for the Vintage Science Fiction Month, starting in January. I think this will be a lot of fun, exploring some older stories and revisiting other ones.

ReplyDeleteWe've finally started to put the Christmas decorations up as well. I'm already starting to feel panicked about all that needs to get done! Love the idea of the Coruscant traffic noise while working! I use Amazon Prime's Music classical for reading playlists a lot but that sounds way more fun!

DeleteRainy and gloomy here yesterday, and still gloomy (but dry) today. We put up our Christmas tree and decorations this week. I love looking at lights on other people's houses but we don't do them ourselves. Maybe one day we'll change that. I think it would be fun, but probably a lot of work.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy putting up your Christmas decorations, I love doing that but won't do it for another few weeks as I'm too busy until right before Christmas. I always stick on it's A Wonderful Life and munch chocolates while I do it and I really get in the mood :)

That sounds like a great way to get in the holiday spirit. It's funny how we all have little traditions or things we like to do. :) For me its the movie White Christmas- for some reason I always enjoy that one at this tie of year and never seem to get tired of it. Hope your week is a good one. :)

I did enjoy the Christmas music - thanks Greg. I always found that in Germany, the Christmas music is more traditional carols whereas in England it's more pop songs. And I ought to join the COYER, lets' face it who shouldn't :)

DeleteWe just put up our tiny tree every year that I bought at Dollar General after I got sick of our cats destroying the larger one we had. It's nice though once all the presents are wrapped and under it. Feels cozy. Have a great week, Greg!

DeleteWe've had a sunny, windy, cool day here. First time we've seen much sun all week. The Vintage Science Fiction sounds like fun. The Edgar Rice Bourroughs cover brings back memories. I read lots of his books when I was a kid. And I have the Charlie Brown Christmas album and have been listening to that and other Christmas music. That brings back memories, too!
ReplyDeleteTh weather has been a bit dreary here, grey skies and some rain, but I don't really mind. The colder weather is nice for a change. Ravencliffe has a nice cover indeed! I can only imagine it looks even nicer in real life. My Coyer sign-up will be live later this month, glad to hear you're joining as well!
ReplyDeleteThe weather here was beautiful today... 60 out! Soooo.. I finally raked my leaves! LOL! Even though we have already had snow and everything. There were so many leaves my trash can was too full. Luckily the trash gets picked up tomorrow and then I will get the rest of the leaves out of here!

I just watched some old Christmas carttons. Of course, Rudolph was the first one and then Frosty. I even found some from Courage the Cowardly Dog and Ed, Edd, and Eddy. Had a lot of laughs.

YAY, for COYER! :) I love Bruce Willis but I really prefer him in the action hero roles he use to play, but I will probably end up giving this one a try.

DeleteI was a fan of the original Star Trek but haven't gotten into any of the adaptations. Of course I was young at the time but I do recall having a crush on Dr Spock. (That's not weird is it?!)

It's a nice cover close up, but yes the text is odd, i don't like the vertical either, and it's a better cover close up. Hope it cools down for you a bit.. but not too much. :)
DeleteSame kind of Sunday here - bright sunshine and Christmas decorating to be done! Decorations are up now and so is the tree. I'll get the lights on it tonight, but wait until the girls come home to hang all the ornaments.

Thanks for the Star Trek clip, too - I haven't watched TOS in ages, and it's high time I did. Sure, it was cheesy sometimes, but it was terrific a lot of the time.

I stumbled over those ambient by accident, and was intrigued! I've been listening to them a bit. The Tasha Alexander books are good, some I like more than other, but this one has me curious and I've enjoyed revisiting these after a bit of a break.
DeleteTOS did have its moments at times, and I do sometimes enjoy going back and reliving some of the classic episodes. :)

OH YAY FOR XMEN!! I'm reading some comics atm, the first time ever! ;-) My library doesn't have a fabulous collection unfortunately so I'll probably only get to read the bare minimum. *sigh* Still. I love me some Xmen.
