The second volume of Neptune is such a thrill ride. Imagine entering a worldship- a generation vessel- with distinct biomes and dangers around every corner. That's the premise here with Marie and Kim going in- just them- for spoilery reasons. The other awesome thing here is just catching up with characters. Mark and Kim are an item again, going way back to the beginnings of the Aldebaran saga. And Leo outdoes himself with the art- I wanted to explore this ship.

We're getting towards the end of Aldebaran, most likely- the installments take time to create, and who knows how long Leo will keep producing. Every one of these, then, is a treasure. And even though I love a good worldship story, there aren't that many. At least in graphic format. The curving horizon, like a ringworld, was wild. It may have seemed a little pat at the end, a little too wrapped up, but honestly I'd read these characters working in the garden. The tapestry of this story, unfolding over two decades, has been nothing short of amazing to watch.

I liked revisiting Betelgeuse in the first volume. And I'd live on Aldebaran. These books are one of my favorite fictional getaways. And they've been translated into English so they're very available

  3. The cover looks so retro but artistically at the same time.

  5. I haven't read it because sci-fi stories aren't really my taste.

  9. That ship does sound really cool. And if there's more art inside like the cover, with nature overgrowing and stuff, I imagine it must be pretty.
