Top Ten Tuesday Top Ten Nasmith LotR Art

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week is a rogue topic for me- I am going with Ted Nasmith cover art for The Lord of the Rings. Why such a tangent? Well, I've been wanting to do a Cover Love post on this for weeks and wasn't feeling the topic this week, so... here we are!

Nasmith is one of my favorite artists for LotR- actually, he may be my favorite.

  8. Beautiful art - even though I've never read the books, those covers would almost make me consider it. almost. :) Great 'rogue' topic.

  9. 2023 will be the year I read The Lord of the Rings.... I promise I will! The set we have at school is rather boring, just plain black.

  21. I like the 4th one. It makes me want to spend some time there.

  22. The artworks are great. I especially like the first cover, the fellowship of the ring, with the water horses. Nasmith artwork makes me think of old fashion paintings, so much details and it definitely looks like he took the time to make his art.

    Have a lovely day.

  27. Wow neat to look at these covers. I particularly like the art at the end of the post. It looks like quite a major canyon. Beautiful.

  28. Stunning cover art. So much better than what I have, which are ugly movie-tie in covers.

  29. Beautiful artwork! I really love the sense of 'depth' there is in the landscapes. You can genuinely believe there's more to see of the scene happening just out of frame.
