Sunday Post #432

So what are everyone's plans for Christmas? For me we have Christmas Eve here at home and then the big family get- together is on Sunday. My aunt is having it at a restaurant (Zehnders in Frankenmuth for anyone from Michigan) and after that we're meeting up at one of the aunts' houses. One of my blog friends has dubbed this the Covid Dinner. :)  Is Omicron affecting your plans?

This week I posted #4 of my Fandom Mashups Revisited- and not much else. A slow week for blogging. I do have goodies this week however. Some cool chill music and a surprise or two. Hope everyone has a great week- and merry Christmas! .

PULP COVER OF THE WEEK:

  1. We're staying put for Christmas this year, not really out of fear of covid or anything (omicron data out of South Africa currently looks optimistic) but just out of sheer exhaustion. It's been a crazy couple of weeks with work and holiday parties, I'm ready to just veg out in my PJs all Christmas weekend with some good food and surrounded by my husband and kids :)

  2. I love Charlie Brown. Merry Christmas.

  3. Looking like we are heading for lockdown in Scotland.

We are staying in just the 3 of us and the cats <3

  4. For Christmas my daughter and grandson and I will be having dinner at home and opening presents.

  5. Covid changed my plans a bit, as the kid has to come later than planned since she has to clear her ten days. I was really looking forward to her cookies, but alas, covid stole them from me. I hope you and your family enjoy your gather and no covid germs are exchanged.

  6. Amo a Charlie Brown, te deseo una genial navidad a ti y a tu familia. Te mando un gran abrazo

  7. We always have a quiet family Christmas. We'll have dinner on Christmas Eve and then a lazy Christmas day.

  8. Omicron isn't affecting my plans, but I didn't have big ones to begin with. I can't believe we're already close to Christmas and the year is ending so soon! Enjoy your Christmas, Greg! :)

  9. Baz took the early shift at work on Xmas Eve so we can have our traditional Chinese takeout for dinner. 🍜 Then it's lasagna and cheesecake on Xmas Day. At my age it's all about the food. 😆

    Have a wonderful pre-holiday week! 🎄 Stay safe. 👍

  10. I will unwrap gifts with my parents on Christmas Eve morning. On Christmas, I'm having lunch with my parents and an uncle. Then I might be going with my mom to visit my grandmother in the afternoon, all depending on the nursing home's number limitation on visitors. With Omicron quickly spreading, I wouldn't be surprised if the nursing home went on lockdown again.

A Charlie Brown's Christmas airs tonight on PBS. I have the soundtrack on CD somewhere. I should drag it out and give it a listen this week.

December is going by way too fast for me. I haven't had time to watch my three favorite Christmas movies - Black Christmas (2006), Krampus, and Anna and Apocalypse. Well, technically, their horror flicks but set at Christmas time.

FYI - My "real" favorite Christmas movies are Holiday Inn, White Christmas, It's a Wonderful Life, and All I Want for Christmas (1991).

  11. Our Christmases look different now with Covid. We are just planning to see my parents Christmas morning which will be nice. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

  12. Lots of goodies in this one! Just a little Christmas Eve gathering. Nothing big. It makes me think of the time we all got together (just the 3 college kids and their significant others at mom & dad's) right before a blizzard. Let's say we didn't wait. We ripped right through those presents (15 minutes tops) and everyone loaded up to go home before the snow hit. I have a feeling a lot of us like those kind of Christmases, but hopefully we will survive this year. After all, I am anxious for Cheese Balls and fudge.

  13. I am not sure about Christmas plans...I may just stay home and watch a movie marathon...and eat good things!

I always smile when I see Charlie Brown!

Enjoy your week and the holidays.

  14. Both sets of parents are meant to be spending the day at ours, whilst one son is at his partner's house. However, we are fully prepared for having to make last-minute changes- particularly as it looks like the UK might be heading for a "fire-break" lockdown soon after the 25th.

  15. Have a great Christmas! I have a toddler, which kind of kills any complicated Christmas plans. I think we're just going to stay home, open gifts, and eat a ton of food. It should be nice.

  16. Well the COVID diner is what we all fear Greg! I'll be at my mom in law with my family and my mom. They both are widowed and get along splendidly so that just makes sense. We'll be six so COVID wise the risks are hopefully smaller!

  17. I hope your family get-together is safe and merry. Me and the hubs will simply visit his mother and my parents, as we always do.

  18. As my partner died in an accident two months ago, it's going to be a really tough holiday for me. But I can do it with my family! I have to!

  19. I don't have any plans for Christmas. My family is not much for gathering together even without COVID.

  20. Ooh, that Night Teeth looks interesting! Well, I'll probably do Christmas Eve with just my mom, stepdad, brother, sister-in-law, niece and nephew. Normally I would then do Christmas day with my dad's side, but due to some disagreements, I told them not to include me in their Christmas this year, even though it means I won't get to see my sister who has come home from Scotland for the holidays. My mom's side with my aunts and cousins will be the day after Christmas, as my cousin will go back to her home in Georgia the day after that.

  21. We have three days of Christmas celebrations planned - with my in-laws, my mom, and then my dad. It's pretty much what we do every year and we keep each one pretty small anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  22. We're spending Christmas with my grandmother. I was sick in 2019 and last year we stayed home.

    Merry Christmas!

  23. It will be just me and the 94-yo and the cat, again. lol But I'm ok with that as I'm an introvert and just want to be left alone to read my books and write my blogs and Netflix & Chill.

It sounds like YOU have some fun times coming up with The Fam and that is great! Enjoy! I do love going out to restaurants with big groups of people.

    Merry Christmas!

  24. I hope all goes well with your dinner! We are just staying home, me & the hubs and the 3 kiddos. I'm thinking maybe I will make a lasagna for Xmas Day.

  26. We are staying home. Hope you have a safe and Merry Christmas!

  27. We always do our family party on Christmas Eve, and then we have a game night scheduled for the 26th. Other than that, our Christmas will be pretty quiet.

  28. A yes, Christmas... I don´t have big plans for it except to stay negative and at home. Is Omicron affecting the festive season this year? It sure is. But not my plans for the holidays. Happy reading Greg, and hope you can enjoy your family time safe and sound.

  30. We almost always stay home for Christmas. We tried to get ahead of Omicron by going for a short visit this week, before the deluge? I hope you have a happy holiday and stay well.

  31. We visited my mother-in-law this week and probably do a drop off with my mom later in the week. It was just us, the kids, the parent in laws and our nephews. Hope you have a great Christmas!

  32. No special plans yet for Christmas. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas!

  33. We are doing Christmas on Christmas eve at my aunts house, like normal. Then on Christmas I am just relaxing. :)

  35. Love Zehnders! Enjoy the wonderful food and fellowship with family! Everyone is coming over to our house this year. It sounds like we may have a mild day. Merry Christmas.

  36. Merry Christmas o you too! It will be very low key here. And my religious Christmas is on January 7 - I'm Orthodox

    ReplyDelete
  37. Sounds like great Christmas plans. We are being cautious, but hoping Christmas will be celebrated. May your Christmas eve and day be a great family time.

  38. We will be having our primary get together on Christmas Eve and then my mother's side of the family is coming over for desserts on Christmas day. There's a very real possiblity that I will still be in pajamas at that point! I still need to talk to my dad and get that figured out. Have a wonderful week and Merry Christmas!

  39. I like the After Midnight mix. As for Christmas, I have no specific plans this year. Happy Holidays!

  40. Our Christmas is small and quiet. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  41. We are doing Christmas with my husband's family today. We will be home for Christmas and then leave on the 26th for TN to see my sister and brother. Omicron is not affecting our plans! Have a wonderful Christmas!

  42. Stay safe or as safe as you can in these doomsday times. We're having a very small family gathering and will meet up with everyone else when Covid #'s settle down in our state which is currently the WORST in the country ugh.

  43. Our Christmas consists of my parents and grandmother coming over for dinner. Since we are in lockdown again.. that's pretty much all we can do. :D
Have a great week and happy reading Greg.

  44. I'm not sure what we're doing for Christmas yet this year. A family Thanksgiving event that my husband and I thankfully decided not to attend ended up with my uncle and two of my cousins getting COVID so I think we're all a little gun-shy about planning much right now with Omicron lurking.

  45. Have a good holiday. It's just Kevin and I so we have a small dinner and then go for a walk.

They say we're getting snow either Christmas day or Sunday.

  46. Oh, I've been to Zehnders but it was so long ago. Like high school! Yes, omicron is affecting things here. Lots of people I know are getting sick. And my in-laws canceled Christmas at their house. So we're staying home AGAIN this year. I hate it, but what can you do?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Oh, we are waiting on a family member to see if she has Covid..so yeah, we are planning on Plan B.... Stay safe.

    ReplyDelete
  48. We're still having a family gathering (at home though) for Christmas, I'm a little hesitant about it all but if everyone follows regulations I hope it'll be fine. Hope you'll have a great Christmas!

    ReplyDelete
  49. I hope you have a great week and Merry Christmas to you as well.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Hope you enjoy the get-togethers. Our gathering is staying very small and limited. Omicron is sweeping the country but there seems to be an attitude of "Covid? What's Covid?" Around here at least. It's maddening. I like the After Midnight clip.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Covid has affected all my plans since it first appeared.... Christmas is no different.

    ReplyDelete
  52. I'm afraid Covid is affecting everything . . . Anyway, our family gathering is (always) quite small and at home and, if things go well, I should finally be reunited with my bestie! Indeed, Fran should be here on the 27th and stay at my place for a while. I wish you a safe and happy Christmas, Greg! xx
