Sunday Post #407

This week I have a nice Japan walk- it's a chat livestream although I'd skip the beginning (it's long and there are video issues). Highlights are 1:05:42 asking which beer he should get and viewers donating money and telling him what to buy. Also at the end (last half hour) the sunset and Mt. Fuji in the distance- especially 2:42:14 & 2:45:53.

Movies That Suck returned this week with The Lost Continent. I posted about this one wayyyyy back in Sunday Post #311- the movie was not available at the time, but my Blu- ray came so... yay. 😧

Re: the tweet below- I don't understand this. Why does she hate something so much she has to confront people doing nothing wrong? Why can't she just live and let live?

And you HAVE to check out the song by The Peddlers below- the theme for The Lost Continent.

I had to include this Let's Play Sea of Thieves video- it's absolutely hilarious. Grown men doing pirate accents... highlights include the, um, drinking in the beginning and the kraken at 23 minutes in. Honestly, I play these in the background sometimes and bust out laughing...

I'm liking the idea of sharing a tweet occasionally to generate discussion.

  1. Ooooooo Sea of Thieves! I remember seeing that around the gaming community a few years ago. (Definitely didn't see the video, though.)

I love the sunset! (Save the best for last literally.) Hope you have a fantastic week.

  2. That Decline of the Empire picture is my favorite. I'd visit that beach! Hope you have a great weekend. :)

  3. I saw that Tweet too. I don't understand why that bothered that lady sooo much.

  4. Wow! I come from the live and let live school of thought. Seems like a rather extreme reaction. --sigh--

  5. I've not even looked properly at the video because it's just too familiar and exhausting. Probably the same sort of person as the ones who tried to tear down the rainbow decorations outside my favourite bookshop. It's always awful. :(

  6. I saw the horrible woman video, and it is exhausting, why are people like this!? Like I truly cannot wrap my head around that kind of hate. Why the hell would someone want to be so vile?

I agree, the sunset part of the video is truly incredible. As always, I really really need to move to Japan immediately.

  7. I have not heard of Sea of Thieves before. LOL that game looks pretty hilarious. The voice commentary made it more entertaining.
I have recently fallen in love with Lofi Girl on Youtube. omg, I had no idea there was such a huge following for so many years! The music has been amazing to listen to while writing.
Hope you have a great week!

  8. That woman just seems exhausting. Having that much hate and anger has to be draining. I've been listening to a YouTube channel called Ambient Worlds while I read and I love their background noises - especially the ones from Lord of the Rings. Have a great week!

  9. Sadly the 'live and let live' attitude seems to be dying out, although things have also been made worse by people being cooped up inside with the pandemic 😟 Glad you were also able to watch some amusing videos to cheer you up.

Take care and happy viewing and reading in the coming week. 🙂

  10. Release the Kraken! Thanks for sharing. Hope your week is fantastic.

  11. I think the problem with the last few years is, many people have forgotten how to live and let live. Used to be, folks could agree to disagree. Now though, when someone has a different opinion, it's like treated as a personal attack. Intolerance is everywhere, on every side. Onto a light subject though, damn I miss Sea of Thieves. I saw in a recent email they're teaming up with Disney and Jack Sparrow now? Lol, should be interesting....

  12. Life would be more peaceful if "live and let live" were the guiding principle!

Enjoy your week and your reading, viewing, and outings. Thanks for visiting my blog.

  13. It struck me as odd that someone in a Rolling Stones top could be such a bigot...

  14. Ack. See sometimes I want to be around people and a lot of the time I'm good with not being around people. The Decline of the Empire picture is excellent

  15. Awww the mean lady doesn't like pretty rainbows???

  16. I'm so tired of people being so hateful - how does people just living their lives affect you so much? It doesn't!

  17. I listen to my son playing video games online with his friends and I can only hear his part of the conversation and I still crack up; especially when they are playing Diner Dash. 😆

I have stopped trying to understand people like the spray paint lady. I have read a couple of science articles that say it's a brain thing. It's a resistance to change thing, but as adults shouldn't they be able to be reasoned with to some extent? 😐

Thanks for the Japan tour video. 🎐

Have a wonderful new week, and happy Father's Day! 🌞

  18. That's the question indeed! Why can't she just live and let live indeed!

  19. Phew, that woman ... I pitty her. Have a great new week and happy reading.

  20. I've been wondering for awhile now why people can't just "live and let live". Awful.

    ReplyDelete
  21. *sigh* And WHY does working and paying taxes entitle that woman to spray all over a symbol of acceptance and diversity??? Urg. It doesn't help that they all sound drunk, anyway...

I love the pics, as ever, Greg. I hope the coming week is a good one!

  22. I don't remember The Lost Continent. I'll have to look it up. Ugh that lady in the tweet. Just awful. Have a great week, Greg!

  23. Men doing pirates would be entertaining background and you have me curious about The Lost Continent. Have a great week, Greg!

  27. People like her trade their humanity for a sense of superiority, oblivious to the irony.

Wishing you a great reading week

  28. What a strange intolerant lady that person is. A very closed off person for sure. Hope your week works out well and some good books in there as well.

  29. It's been hard for me to witness the river of meanness in America over the last year. My son blames it on social media. Apparently book bloggers are immune.

    ReplyDelete
  30. That woman in the tweet video is trash and has anger management issues. She needs therapy. I hope she got fined for that.

    ReplyDelete
  31. It's really sad to see how insanely unkind people have been in the last year or so. It's like people have forgotten to be civil towards each other.

    Have a great week, Greg.

  33. I don't understand why people have to be that way. It makes me sad, but I hope that there are more people not like that in the world, so that we can make this a better place. Hope you have a good week!

  34. I've still been wearing a mask indoors just to be thoughtful to those who haven't gotten a chance to be vaccinated yet and no one has said anything yet but I definitely get looks from non mask wearers (who are probably unvaccinated).

Hope you had a nice week Greg!

  35. Ugh.. that woman just makes me mad. I have never understood why people can't just be kind to one another.
Have a great week and happy reading.

  36. That Decline of the Empire picture is great.
    Have a lovely week.

  37. I don't even try to understand people anymore. If it isn't hurting you or someone else, what's the big deal? Live and let live, like you said.

    Enjoy your week!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yikes, and her family will get to witness that behavior forever. So sad. Kind of an exciting day but a bit scary too tomorrow! Hope you have a great week.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Oh that tweet - I really don't understand either, what is her problem? Live and let live indeed.
I really, really, really hope I'll be able to visit Japan someday and go on all of these walks for real though :)
    Have a great week!

  40. I'll never understand people like that woman in the tweet you shared either. People like that don't even make any sense when they're trying to justify their actions. The logic is just so flawed, and yes, why can't she just mind her own business and leave people alone?

    ReplyDelete
  41. It seems that Live and Let Live is the easiest thing to say and the hardest thing to do. I wonder if the Tweet woman knew she was being filmed but still carried on? She is really *that* convinced about her own POV, that's the scarier part.
On a lighter note, the Sea of Thieves was awesome, the kraken was very worm-pink, and the pirate accent was loads of fun. 😂

  42. Oof, I remember The Lost Continent. That movie was rough. XD
