Sunday Post #401

So how is it May 7th already? I'm posting this on Friday night and getting ready for a night walk through Osaka - Virtual Japan is premiering a livestream tonight. You can watch live or after the livestream he posts it as a regular video. The livestreams are fun because he chats with viewers and you learn a lot. This week was good, I have lots of tweets I came across so in addition to the usual discussion tweet I included a few more below.

I HAD to share this.

Anyway... here's the livestream premiere.

I'm liking the idea of sharing a tweet occasionally to generate discussion.

Song of the week

  3. LOL, working for the CIA :) I hope you're doing well, Greg! I've been MIA from Sunday posts for a long while - it's been so busy over here!
    Have a wonderful weekend.

  6. I'll have to show that Bryan Adams tweet to my mother. She absolutely loves that song!

  7. What is with that CIA video?! ROFL. And the tune in that video is just such a HUGE contrast with what she's saying (so proudly yet in that deadpan tone). Seriously, I had just stopped laughing over that one till I came across the Summer of 69 tweet. I love that song, so I was outraged to see people getting angry over Bryan Adams... and then, of course, he was angry! He left that girl on that porch. Brilliant stuff! 😂😂😂

  8. Hope you had fun doing your walking tour. I admire people who can keep up with comments during a live feed (I cannot)

  9. Okay so much to comment on! So the Justina tweet cracked me UP, I mean, so true! The one from FL made me want to scream and cry, frankly. This hellcountry terrifies me, full stop. I love the CIA one, that girl is hilarious. The pulp cover is a great choice, I love it! And you know I am a fan of the Osaka tours. I need to go there, immediately. Not that they want us, who can blame them? Also I high key need Nintendo World in my life!

  10. I love the idea of the live stream tours! What a fascinating way to travel right now when travel isn't really an option - especially not international. My son and I have watched SO many videos on Nintendo World. It looks amazing! I hope you have a wonderful week!

  13. The comment about The Handmaid's Tale and how it reflects the Republican party reminded me of how eerily real that show feels!

Enjoy your week and your books...and the virtual walk sounded good.

  23. Blaire is so funny, I follow her to twitter.
I am obsessed with Nintendo world and want to go soooo bad!
Let's hope the rest of us can avoid the handmaids tale in real life, they are just ridiculous at this point!

Have a great week, Greg! Happy Reading!

  25. Shame shame shame at those people at the school board meeting shouting those things at the Asian-American lady. WTF IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE????

  26. Ha ha! I never thought of The Summer of '69 like that! Of course, that song always reminds me of....Berlin. When we were on our honeymoon, we ended up in Berlin on the day of the Berlin Marathon and they were playing that song at the Brandenburg Gate as the runners finished! - Melinda @ A Web of Stories

  27. Ah yes The Handmaid's Tale would probably be a good discussion about what the Republicans are focussed on!

  32. I laughed at that Bryan Adams tweet, I will never be able to listen in the same way again. And how cool a livestream tour. I didn't even know that was a thing but what an awesome idea, especially when we've all gone stir crazy not being able to travel, I will have to check it out.

  34. The Bryan Adams song tweet cracked me up and then the one about the FL meeting and those people yelling at that poor woman made me so sad. It's emotional whiplash in your post this time!

  35. I love getting on Google Maps and plopping myself down somewhere for a look-see. I'll bet having a guide makes it even more fun.

  44. There is basically zero Asian hate here where I live, from what I know, so this whole thing is astounding to me, although it shouldn't be because the tRump un-presidency, and the depth of uncovered racism toward Black folk should have taught me something. 😐

I would love to travel to Japan. Thanks for the walking tour links, as always. 🎏

I hope you have had a great week. 🌞
