Top Ten Tuesday #227

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new Top Ten list will be posted. Everyone is welcome to join. Link back so everyone can check out other bloggers' lists. It's a fun way to get to know fellow bloggers.

This week is non- bookish hobbies. Hmm. I almost skipped this topic, but why not? Scary month is over so I need to reboot my brain and resist the impulse to provide yet more spooky-ish covers... so, here without further delay are my non- bookish hobbies.

Comics

Okay, so I'm breaking the rules already. Comics are obviously a bookish hobby, but I've always enjoyed them.

Kayaking

I love being on the water and just running my hands through the waves on a sunny day.

Art.

Anyone who looks at my Sunday Posts knows I love finding new artwork, especially on Artstation.

Writing

I like to write and have written a fair amount for the blog.

Music

I love all kinds of music but lately have been really liking ambience and soundscapes. Here's a new one just came out.

Movies

I love watching movies

Northern Michigan

Not really a hobby but an area I enjoy, especially the beauty of the area.

Watching idiots play Sea of Thieves and lmao

Okay, to be fair, they're not idiots but they're a blast to listen to- I mean, pirate accents, right?

That's it, I guess???

  1. Hi there Greg! I would never ever have guessed that you liked comics...LOL!!

My husband also enjoys kayaking, if he gets the time.

I have no idea what Sea of Thieves or Imao is...

Happy TTT and here's my The Collected Works of Elza Reads

    1. Hey Elza!!! Kayaking is awesome. And right? Comics :):):)

Sea of Thieves is a game about pirates and lmao just means "laughing my ass off", which I do every time I listen to those guys :)

  2. Music is something I love! I listen to it every day, and sometimes, depending on the song, it goes on multiple repeat replays. :)

  3. Northern Michigan, huh? That is a place I'd like to visit someday. My non-bookish activities

  4. I'm definitely not surprised with the comics, but I would have never guessed about the kayaking.

  5. Great list! Ooh yes I love a good ASMR room--they've been a godsend while I've been working from home.

  6. Ooh nice list! I love movie watching too, though I find it harder to do these days as I'm usually busy doing something else and when I watch a movie, I want to sit and watch it all the way through! I did binge a few movies two weeks or so ago and that was fun! My reading suffered, but it was bound to eventually with my movie stack! Lol.

    Here's my Tuesday Post

    Have a GREAT day!

  9. So the five of us who are hosting Tell Me Something Tuesday decided a few weeks ago that the prompt "What Do You Do for Fun When You Aren't Blogging?" (which I provided) would be scheduled for today. Talk about timing LOL.

I can only write a shorter version of the answer I gave on my blog: my only hobby/fun activity is...blogging LOL. And reading of course. You're so much braver than me - I would never touch the water with a totem pole!

  11. Ambient music has become something that I turn to more and more. I enjoy it while I'm working from home, reading, whatever. It's very unobtrusive and calming.

  13. COMICSSS. Reading and Art: the BEST of both worlds. I've really wanted to get into Kayaking, but all we have around here are muddy rivers.

I've also found myself watching a few gamers on Twitch or Youtube playing silly little games. They can be just as entertaining as playing the games!

    1. Yes!!! I've discovered Belgian and French comics and they've rocked my world- kinda tired of American stuff.

True! It can be hilarious watching other people play :)

    1. Kayaking is great! There's something about being on the water, and in a kayak you're very close- trailing your hand through the water as you paddle along- very relaxing :)

  22. Not much of a fan of comics or graphic novels but I've always the artworks of them - they have such good covers.

I like seeing your selection of art, always quite visually stunning.

I must admit, I only read one of your fiction pieces, don't quite have the patience for reading anything long on a screen.

I'm always surprise by people's choice of music. You couldn't tell what type of music people like until they tell you or make you listen to a band you are sure to be surprised by.

Yay movies! Is there a more lazy hobby than sitting down and watching a movie?

    Have a lovely week.

    1. I love a good cover. And thank you. I appreciate reading even one- you know how it is, to put something out there. Speaking of, I need to catch up on your stuff- I know you post nice writing as well.

True about music! And movies are the best!

  23. Northern Michigan is beautiful, especially the UP. We've been there several times for family reunion vacations.

I enjoyed the snowy owl video. I forgot to put birdwatching on my list of hobbies, because I don't do it very seriously. I mean, I don't go out specificically looking for birds, but I do like to try to identify the birds I see. And I love raptors, especially owls and hawks.

Kayaking has always sounded like fun, except I'm terrifed of getting trapped in the kayak upside-down. (My introduction to it was in the closed kayaks, meant for white-water kayaking.)

Your love of art and music comes as no surprise, after years of reading your Sunday Posts! And the Sea of Thieves video made me laugh. Arrr!

    1. It really is.

Raptors are amazing. I'm not a birdwatcher per se either, but as I get older I find myself just appreciating them more and often will sit and watch 'em. So relaxing :)

      Haha!!!

  27. Ooh I want to go kayaking out here! We have so many places to go. The whole pandemic thing threw a wrench into things but next summer!!

  28. I barely have any now! If I don't read I watch films & TV series, do news scrapbooks (not always fun? and a bit of blogging. Not a lot to talk about really!
