Lots of stuff this week. The big news for me is Tales From The Loop- the trailer is here (Amazon Prime) and this looks FANTASTIC. I'm a big fan of the book.

So a while back I was doing a Movies That suck post and lamented the fact that my chosen movie- The Lost Continent- was not available to stream or on DVD/ Blu-ray. So I had to review something else. Well, guess what? I saw this week that The Lost Continent, in all its B-movie trashiness, is coming to Blu-ray in April. Yes! I will, of course, be giving it the Movies That Suck treatment promptly upon release.

In other news someone on Twitters mentioned an old post and when I looked back there was all this spam on it!

Here are some highlights.

Some of you may remember a while ago I was watching the Let's Play Sea of Thieves videos. Honestly, these are hilarious. I often have them on in the background while I'm doing something else, and then all of a sudden everyone is screaming and cursing and like throwing up or fighting krakens or something. Also, pirate drunkenness.

Joe Satriani has new music out. I love his sense of humor.

  1. Ugh I hate spam so much. I get so excited when I see a comment on one of my posts, and it’s just something stupid. It’s the worst! Also, coincidentally, I think there is already a spam comment on this post?

    1. Yes! I had to delete that pesky thing :)

  2. Gah, I hate spam. I know the style, I used to get that all the time and funny enough, it was worse when I used blogger and they always seemed to come in bursts. Wordpress seems to have better spam filtering software but I still get hit with them on occasion and it's so annoying, as hilarious as some of them can be!

  4. Everything about those pulp covers crack me up every time :D Love them

  5. I get a lot of those spam comments left on my blog but I moderate everything before it is published so it never gets onto the blog itself. One spammer hit me with twelve messages on different posts in one day. I hate that and the message is so obviously written by someone who is not a natural English speaker and the comment never matches the blog post content!

    1. I really should moderate although now I'm kinda curious to see how many I get! I'm sure that will change soon though.

  6. Enjoy watching Tales From The Loop, I hadn't heard of that one. Happy reading, the J.T. Ellison sounds good, I've read that author before.
Ugh, I've thought about sharing some of the bizarre spam on my updates post too...lol. Wordpress is good at throwing those comments straight to spam so they don't post.
    Enjoy your weekened!

    1. Thanks! Tales from the Loop is a Swedish almost Stranger Things type deal, and I'm really curious how they handle it!

  7. The spammers are certainly working overtime these days. I had to go to moderation for comments, because I was tired of deleting the dozen posts every day. I am not familiar with Tales from the Loop, but that trailer was excellent. I hope it lives up to the book for you. It seems the universe really wants you to give The Lost Continent the movies that suck treatment with this random release. Can't wait to read it.

  8. I had my first spam comments this week! They're certainly ramping up. :/

The pulp covers are so weird... I kinda like them, lol.

  9. I got a couple spam comments on my blog. So I had to go back to moderation.

  10. I have questions about Touch Me Not. Namely, are they lovers of shanty boats, or lovers ON a shanty boat? Context matters. Maybe. I look forward to this Lost Continent business mostly because I need to understand how one loses a CONTINENT to begin with. Love the Deep in the Forest picture! And ah, spam. I feel like it is getting even more ridiculous than usual lately.

    1. That is super iffy, right? I mean, shanty boat lovers??!? I honestly used it for that tagline- the cover didn't really wow me, but with a blurb like that- yeah. :)

  12. Forgot to mention the spam. I have someone going back to a bunch of my posts and commenting about how great my photography is. What???? I didn't share any. LOL

  13. I haven't heard of Tales from the Loop or read the book, so I'm curious about that one. I actually had the same thing with spam a few weeks back. Saw an old post that had comments that I hadn't deleted. Oops. I always love looking at the art you post - there are just some amazingly talented artists out there. Have a fabulous week, Greg!

  16. Oh I remember my spammers, and I remember loving the feeling of blocking them all. A hassle because there was a lot, but loved it in the end because I never got them again. The "air conditioning repair las vegas" is so random though lol

  17. I get some fun spam sometimes but I have something that blocks most of them thank goodness! So I am slightly intrigued by your movies that suck pick after watching the trailer! LOL It looks horribly bad in a good way!

Have a great week and happy reading!

  18. Lost continent looks like a bad theme park ride so looking forward to your thoughts.

And as you know, I'm a spam magnet since I had to adjust my comment settings because people were getting blocked. So I do get interesting spam. I had a spammer who would post these long, confusing, rambling comments about kids praying and had to adjust my settings so that all comments with the word "God" would get held for moderation. lol

  19. I have no idea what Tales From the Loop is about and after watching the trailer, I still don't. :-D

  20. I hate spam. That is the reason why I moderate my comments first. And due to the new laws I felt way better to do so. But the spam is really increasing. Your post actually made me laugh. Your tone is wonderful ironic and the pictures great. Thank you for sharing.

  21. I caught a bunch of spam comments on some of my posts too. I guess they have nothing better to do.

  22. Wordpress is really good at filtering spam but I browse through the folder occasionally to check that actual posts haven’t been caught in it. It’s mainly advertising medication or porn, but there are often some like those too.

Thanks for this stylish post to share, read well for joy.

  23. Spam is so annoying. I had a lot of spam comments on my blog this week. Fortunately, I moderate all comments so I deleted them before they could be posted but it's a pain.

I hope you have a great week!

  24. I know some spams are downright funny! I have Askimet managing them so I don't see them often but when I look in the trash some are hilarious!

  25. I keep seeing funny spam posts! Haha. I should probably check mine now!
I love the peaceful river and all the artwork this week!

  28. Great images! I like "Collections," and some might suggest that I've lived in places that look like that. LOL.

Enjoy your week and your books. I keep meaning to read Good Girls Lie.

  29. Lol! I often how spam comments like that even get through!

I haven't heard of tales from the loop before, but it does look interesting. May have to check it out in April.

Happy reading and bad movie watching lol!

Spam is just so weird. It might be strange that I don't know this.. but is someone really typing those messages? Or is it just a computer thing?
Have a great week Greg and happy reading.

  32. Like quite a few people have already said, I am lucky that Wordpress is really good at filtering out Spam, but I did find my Spam folder chocked-full when I logged on to day. The only comment that stuck was one saying I should go back to my old great comment as my current posts were boring... How rude! Even if it wasn't spam, I would be deleting that comment!

I hope you enjoy your upcoming week of reading :-)

  33. Tales From The Loop looks great! I hope you'll enjoy it!
I've been getting more spam on my blog, which I hope will be over soon, it's annoying me quite a bit.

    Have a wonderful week!

  34. LOL on the spam. That's one reason why I started comment moderation on any post over days old.(The other reason was become some people, bloggers mostly, were being aholes in their comments. :( )

Enjoy your movie when it's available!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I don't even understand why spam happens. I mean what do they get out of commenting on my book blog? It's great that the movie you wanted to feature is going to be available soon. Have a great week!

  36. I've been getting a lot of spam on my blog as of lately. The spammers are getting slightly smarter as they are now publishing messages that are somewhat related to my posts. I now have to double-check every new message.

I believe The Lost Continent is a Hammer film. I love Hammer's old horror films but their non-Horror films aren't very good.

  37. Some gorgeous art there.

So far, Akismet seems to catch most of my spam, although I had one spammer that tried to leave about ten comments the other day. Sometimes they can be fairly entertaining though.

  38. I am not familiar with Tales from the Loop, but always exciting when something like that comes to a steaming company.

  39. Ah, the spam. Most of the time annoying but occasionally amusing!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Lmao you at least get a wide variety of spammy comments. My spammers aren't creative enough to diversify their messages! Spammers are so annoying but sometimes can be mildly entertaining! I love so much of the artwork that you've shared! So beautiful 😍 Makes me wish I could draw lol Have a great week ahead, Greg!

  41. I haven't heard of Tales from the Loop, but 30 lashes with a wet noodle for giving me even more reason to be on that couch, Gorgeous Greg!(lol) However, I have not seen the Lost Continent, and don't think I'll be adding it to the list any time soon. Spam is the pits! It rears its ugly head on occasion on my emails and on the blog. - Ugh. Hugs! RO
