Well Christmas has come and gone. I hope all who celebrate had a fabulous holiday. I did a lot of traveling over the break so it was a little hectic but a lot of time was spent with family so that was nice. Christmas Eve I got to attend a nice service at the church I grew up in, and that meant a lot. And now it's almost New Year's! Does anyone have big plans? I'm thinking pizza and movies, maybe some games sounds pretty good. It will probably be a quiet New Year's around here, although you never know!

  1. Sounds like a really good holiday on your end Greg. No big NYE plans here. Our tradition is staying in. We’re wild like that. :) Maybe some snacks/appetizers and a movie. Games sound good, too. A low-key night to ring in 2020.

  2. Glad you had a good Christmas! We're driving back from my parents' on the 30th and 31st, stopping for ice cream in Salt Lake City along the way. We should get home before midnight.

  3. Christmas never really ends for my family until January 1st. There are so many parties to go to in between Christmas and New Years that the 25th almost just serves as a kick off event lol. Happy New Year to you :)

  4. Pizza for New Year's Eve for the win! 🙌🙌🙌 My son gave me a Dune board game for Christmas that is a bit like Risk and I'm hoping we can play it on New Years Day. 🎲🎲

That dinosaur ambient is interesting it would be great background for a kids dino themed party. 🌿

I'm happy to hear you had a great Christmas with family. 🎄 Here's to a great New Year's Eve too. 🎉

Have a wonderful new week and a happy New Year. 🎊

  5. Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas and glad you got to spend time with family. No huge plans for New Years for me, the days where I used to go out to parties and hang out with huge crowds watching the ball drop are long over! Now I'm pretty lowkey, just spending time with the husband and kids...your plans of pizza and a night in sound pretty sweet, actually!

  6. I hate New Year! The fireworks for miles around always stop me from getting to sleep and the idiots where I live are setting them off all night so I can't hear the TV or concentrate on reading! This time I'm going to watch stuff with headphones on so I can block out that noise!!!

  7. I am 100% for a quiet New Years! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Greg!

  8. Glad you had a good Christmas and safe travels. It was mild weather in our region and even though we weren't traveling, I thought of those who were, and was glad.
New Year's eve is one that we traditionally make up a batch of dips and appetizers and watch a few movies until midnight. If we have guests from out of town (though not this year), we break out the board games, too. Pretty quiet on our front though the guns and fireworks going outside around midnight make up for it. :)

    Have a Happy one, Greg!

  9. Glad to hear that you had a lovely Christmas, Greg! Traveling is always hectic and making all the rounds can be even more draining, but it's always nice to be surrounded by family :) I'm looking forward to a quiet NYE with family as well. We've got a little staycation planned and a nice dinner to transition into the new year. Keen! Hope you have a great time too.

I love this artwork you've shared--they're so beautifully done! Especially the first one. Really gets my imagination going!

  10. Happy New Years, Greg! I'll be huddled under a blanket at home, I'm not big with crowds so I definitely won't be doing anything extravagant 😁 Also hoping there won't be too many fireworks because my dog gets so scared😥

When you're not a spring chicken anymore, that's all you want to do LOL. Minus the movies in my case - I'm not a fan, though I LOVE my TV series.

Whatever you do, I hope you get to relax and have fun at the same time! Happy 2020!

  12. I like that spaceport picture. Really cool.

It’s nice visiting family but it’s always nice to get home too.

  13. Sounds like a nice plan for New Year's! Mine is quite similar - I tend to prefer a quiet night rather than a big loud party, so probably a binge-watch with my boyfriend and lots of popcorn. But champagne too!

    Happy New Year!

  15. I am glad that you had a nice holiday!

We are planning a small New Years as well. My brother and family are coming by for soup and drinks and they will probably stay until the two kids are ready for bed. They only live two blocks down so it's easy! :) Happy New Year! :)

  16. I have no big plans for New Year's beyond some games, some munchies, and a movie or two. Hope yours is a fun one! :)

  17. This week was a weird blur with me in a fugue state. We don't do the visiting so much any more, since all my grandparents are gone and everyone is so spread out, but I ate with my sister, her family, my parents, and daughter. Low key is how I roll. So, I guess you need a holiday after celebrating the holiday? I hope your pizza is great on NYE and that 2020 is very good to you

  21. Glad you had a good Christmas! I won't be doing much for New Years Eve as my dad will have had his nose surgery so I will be taking care of him and watching the dogs as they can't go in his room. Fun fun!

Have a great week and happy reading!

  29. As long as it’s not too hot we’ll go down to the riverbank to watch our towns firework display, other than that we don’t really have any plans.

Wishing you a great reading week and a Happy New Year

  31. Spending time with family is nice. My daughter and grandson came over with spend the day with us. It was quiet except for the drama around my apartment complex.

    ReplyDelete
  32. That sounds similar to what our New Year's Eve will consist of - dinner in and probably continue our rewatch of the Marvel movies!

  33. I am glad that you had a nice Christmas, Greg. I am glad that you were able to attend church services at the church from your childhood. I think that our New Years will involve pizza as well. I probably won't even stay up long enough to ring in the new year :) Have a great week!

  34. Your NYE sounds great Greg! We'll probably get pho and binge Mrs. Maisel. Last year we binged HP movies and that was fun!

  37. I'm glad to hear you had a good Christmas, Greg. I think we'll be doing pizza and movies and/or board games here too on NYE. Maybe some wine or champagne to toast in the new year but definitely in the comfort of my home.

  38. Well, I think a quiet NYE is probably just what you need after the Christmas hecticness 😂 I am doing nothing, which I imagine is all one CAN do when caring for two humans who will (hopefully) be asleep by 8:00 hahah. I can't fully decide if it being 2020 is exciting or terrifying. Both, I suppose!

  39. We host a dinner party for a handful of friends every New Years. After dinner we watch a movie and gab until the ball drops. Low-key and relaxing.

  40. Glad you could see some family over Christmas. I will have to do some last errands on Tuesday morning, but after that I am off and (hopefully) have a nice but quiet New Year´s Eve. Happy reading!

  43. Sounds like such an enjoyable holiday. We will probably watch movies and pop a bottle of champagne at midnight. Then we'll have food/snacks, football and reading all New Year's Day. Very low-key and just the kind of night I crave. I hope you love Night Shift - I did. And the sequel comes out soon.
