Sunday Post 325

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer

It's Monday! What Are You Reading is hosted by Book Date

I took a fun quiz last week thanks to Sophie at Beware of the Reader. It's called Would You Survive The End Of The World over at Epic Reads- and I got YES. I would survive The Hunger Games! Really? Wow. Clearly this is a slow news week. Also I finished Wilder Girls and then promptly lost my review when I didn't save it properly. I am not going to rewrite it, so if you want to know what I thought- 3 stars and I recommend. Nuff said. :)

This past week I reviewed Day of the Giants and started reading Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn- I won that in a giveaway from Daniela Ark. Thanks Daniela!! I can finally read the book and see what all the hype is about. And to everyone celebrating Thanksgiving next week- have a super one!!!

  1. Wow, more waterfalls please! The ones you've featured here are gorgeous, I especially love the fisherman one, though you gotta wonder he managed to get up there in the first place :D

  2. YAY for surviving the Hunger Games I guess? I also think that means I don't want to be in the same HG as you... there still is only one survivor, right?
Have a wonderful weekend, Greg! And happy reading.

  3. Great art as always! And I love the Peanuts Thanksgiving special. It's my favorite--the toast and the popcorn. I look forward to watching it every year. :)

LOL, I could never be so blasée about losing a review - I know I would be devastated and would set to rewrite it ASAP.

The Black Angel cover is disturbing LOL - it doesn't even look like a thriller cover, more like a urban fantasy one!

  6. lol i hate when I lose my reviews, it def does not make me want to rewrite them either

  7. I think it's very encouraging your would survive the Hunger Games. I read Gone Girl a while back. That is one tightly plotted story, which is like a train wreck - I could not look away. I hated everyone, but the plot was so compelling, Kept me flipping the pages. I hope you didn't see the movie already. I liked being surprised by it.

  8. Ugh. Sorry to hear you lost your review. This is why I write everything in Evernote first and copy it over. Had that happen to me too many times!

  9. Gone Girl was such a good book - but I'm guessing you already know the twist, haha!

  10. I love the cover of Day of the Giants. 👍✨

This week's ambient is very upbeat! It would be great for house cleaning background music. 😊

Have a wonderful new week! 🌞

  11. Gone Girl is amazing, and congrats on the win! I really enjoyed the book. I think I'd just like to hang out with Snoopy right now, please.(lol)Happy Sunday! RO

  12. I am not going to make it if the world ends but that's cool, I always knew I'd fail at this survival business.

Isn't it the worst when you lose a review? I've definitely contemplated not rewriting one a time or two when it's been lost. Sometimes I prefer the short bitesized version instead, who needs the rest of the words?

Also, this weeks pictures makes me want to play a really good RPG. I don't know which one but some kind of game where you're out in the wilds surviving.

  13. Urg! I HATE it when words you've slaved over get snatched away by the cyber-demon. And very relieved that you survived The Hunger Games. Does this mean you are now moving to an exclusive residence which will cause your neighbours to envy your good fortune? Have a great week, Greg:)

  14. Yay for being a survivalist. Doubt I would. LOL Bummer about the review, but I don't blame you for just letting it go.
Definitely celebrating so thank you and wishing all a happy one.
I still need to read Gone Girl or any of her others. Hope you enjoy it.

    Have a great week, Greg!

  15. I believe that Gone Girl is somewhere on my shelves. At least the title sounds very familiar. But don´t ask me if I´ve read it already because I am not sure *lol* Thank you for the beautiful pictures. Have a great week, Greg.

  16. Oh that sucks about your review, but glad you enjoyed the book. I haven't ever read Gone Girl and I don't really have a desire too, so maybe you can change my mind if you like it...lol.

Have a great week and Happy Thanksgiving!

  18. Everytime I see Snoopy I wish I hadn't got rid of all my books! They just took up too much space but I'm tempted to get those big hardback volumes for my collection!

  19. Lost reviews are the worst! I am glad you enjoyed it! I wouldn't have rewritten it either.
I just realized I have seen Charlie Browns Thanksgiving...was it even on? I need to check. :)

Have a great week, Greg! Happy Reading!

  20. Oh I hate it when I lose a review! They're so hard for me to write lately. Yeah, I wouldn't want to re-write it either. I love Charlie Brown. I need to go back and watch one, maybe the Thanksgiving one. Have a lovely Thanksgiving, Greg! :)

  21. Thank goodness for auto save I say!

I loved reading Gone Girl, but I keep putting off watching the movie because I know it won’t have the impact.

Wishing you a great reading week

  22. I hope you enjoy Gone Girl. I loved the book...but saw the movie several times.

Have a great week, with all the food that comes with it.

  23. Love the Snoopy Thanksgiving GIF! I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I also love "The Season Beyond." It's just begging for a story.

Enjoy Gone Girl. (I haven't read it, either -- nor seen the movie. One of these days, perhaps...)

  24. I know I wouldn't survive an apocalypse.
I wouldn't want to rewrite a review either.

  25. I am happy to know you would survive Greg!!!! But losing your review???? Gah it happened to me once and I was so frustrated!!! But ok good to know it was only 3 stars. Happy Thanksgiving if you celebrate!

  26. Congrats on your Giveaway win. I'm curious to read your thoughts about Gone Girl.
Have a great week and happy reading!

  27. Aw, I hate it when I lose content online. I write my reviews directly on the blogger post and it's saved automatically. I've not read Gone Girl and I dont think I will. But I'm curious to see what you think of it ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  28. I need to take that quiz. I don’t think I’d survive. Happy Thanksgiving, and have a good week!

  29. GAH I love all the pictures, even more than usual I think! Sorry about your Wilder Girls review, that does quite suck, and I do not blame you at ALL for not redoing it. I feel like I don't need a quiz to know I'd die in the apocalypse? I mean- I'd give it a good try, but in the end, I'd be whining too loudly about some random discomfort and end up being offed by the bad guy/element/alien/whatever. Sad but true!

  30. Wilder Girls didn't work for me. Sorry you lost the review. My weekly update

  31. Losing a review you wrote is the worst! So frustrating!! Glad you'd survive the end times, though. :-)

  32. I hate losing blog work - and reviews are the worst to lose! I like your short review here though lol!

Congrats on surviving the end of the world. I haven't taken a quiz, but am pretty confident I would not. I don't do well with violence for one and am not outdoorsy enough for two.

    Have a happy thanksgiving :)

  33. Oh gosh- I've lost reviews before and there's no way I'd write it twice :) That one looks interesting to me- though I definitely couldn't survive the end of the world. I can barely survive the end of a work day lol.

    ReplyDelete
  34. OMG I hate it when I lose a review like that. It is so annoying! Laughed at your briefer review, really its all that's needed!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'm so curious about Wilder Girls. I want to know more about it. I'm so sorry about the trouble you had with it.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Haha I don't think I'd survive the end of the world, so I'm impressed. Hurray for liking Wilder Girls! That was such an amazing book.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Lol!! Congrats!! I am sure it will tell me differently but I am going to check. Lol.

    Have a great Thanksgiving!!

  39. I haven't read Gone Girl and now I feel like I've missed the boat. Maybe one day. See what I've been reading at Girl Who Reads

  40. I would not survive the end of the world haha. Specifically they said "...we'll be honest, you likely won't make it through." But that comes as absolutely no surprise to me 😂

    ReplyDelete
  41. Wow, go Greg, surviving the Hunger Games, haha. Sorry about your review for Wilder Girls. I might give the audio for that a try.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Yeay for the book win!
I can guarantee without even doing a quiz that I would not survive the end of the world, or The Hunger Games!

Hope you've been having a good week!

  43. Yay for being able to survive The Hunger Games! I think I'd just be rocking in a corner somewhere lol. Orrrrr hiding up in a tree! HA!
