Hello friends and welcome to another weekend. Okay Game of Thrones is making me want the books so bad. I mean, the books are so behind where the show is, but I don't even care- I just want some sanity. It almost makes me want to go back and read all the sample chapters from The Winds of Winter that have been released so far. Speaking of- does anyone else read those?

In other news- 007 resort wear? Bond casual? I saw this this week. :)

My first song lyrics post went up and #2 will be this Monday. I'm having a lot of fun with these! I have four already written and picking songs is fun. Also, the Bookish Games Nevernight edition has started. We have the usual first day shenanigans going on, and I seem to be rather under suspicion due to my performance in the Vicious game. I can't believe anyone finds me suspicious!

I reviewed One Word Kill and The Gondwana Shrine this past week, and also Scooby Apocalyose Vol. 3. Whew! This week will be Movies That Suck: One Million Years BC, and maybe a review for After The Lights Go Out or The Night Before. And of course Song Lyrics 2.

  1. OMG, Sea of Thieves is amazing if you have a group of dedicated friends to play with. When you get into a sea battle with another galleon, so fun and hectic! I'm usually the one bailing water out of our hull because my steering sucks, though sometimes I'll help with the sails and shoot a few cannons at the enemy. Reminds me, I haven't been back in game since around launch, but recently my friend wants to get back into it and apparently a lot of fun content has been added.

And aw, the Darth Vader's Little Princess book! My daughters have a copy :D

    1. You've played it?? Oh, I'm so jealous. :) I need to round up a crew of morally compromised sea lubbers and have a go! I love the cannons! Also... as post ideas, is anything more outstanding than sharing pirate-y exploits???

  2. I so badly want The Winds of Winter right now! So many cliffhangers in A Dance With Dragons, which was a great book. I haven't read any sample chapters as I don't want to see incomplete stuff or stuff that might be removed before publication. I just want to see the shiny new book! The Star Wars ones are funny!

I haven't watched GoT, nor read the books. I might go watch the show at one point, though - who knows, right?
I'm off to find your lyric post.
Have a wonderful weekend and happy reading, Greg!

  5. Great post. Love the Star Wars comics. What are your thoughts on there being 3 new SW movies? And that they are being written by the same guys that are doing Game of Thrones?

    1. Well... funny you should ask. lol I am NOT optimisitc, especially w/ the GoT guys. I thin it's a train wreck, actually. Rian Johnson's involvement didn't wow me also- I wish at this point they'd get some NEW blood.

  11. Yeah GoT is meh. It's like it's on fast forward making it make no sense. And OMG those Star Wars things are in a book. That we have. That is the worst to read to my kids. But funny as one offs! Have a great week!

  15. Listening to Dirty Little Thing as I read your post, not a fan I’m afraid. As for those Bond outfits, you can probably f7nd exactly the same clothessfor a 1/4 of the price at an outlet store. ;)

    Have a great reading week

  16. Idk what's going on with GoT, but I hope you get more books eventually! A polo shirt made of that towel material is... weird. It's just weird lol. The Star Wars comics are cute!

    1. I thought so too. A terry cloth polo?? It WAS the 60's, I guess. I'll be honest though- I really do kinda want those shoes?

  19. I've meant to read/watch Game of Thrones, but somehow I never do. lol about the Star Wars comics, especially the trick-or-treat one.
    I like the 007 wear...
    Enjoy your week!

  20. lol... I LOVE the Star Wars take on Darth trying to parent the twins:)). So funny! I am DREADING watching the final GoT episode tomorrow morning - so far this series has done NOTHING to alleviate my stress levels! Have a great week, whatever trauma GoT chooses to inflict upon us hapless serfs...

  23. Greg GOT is insane!!! I don't even watch it as I am usually blogging in the kitchen when my daughter watches her favorite show but oh boy! do I experience it vicariously through her shouts! LOL And yes I finally had some time to visit your music post on Monday! Have a great week

  24. Love the Star Wars pictures! Made me laugh. A few days ago I heard on BBC that fans want a remake of a season because apparently they are not satisfied with it? Didn´t pay that much attention, so no further details.

  25. I watch the spoilers after the episode is over for game of thrones. lol. I just think they never had a solid way to end it.

That game is fantastic and one I have always wanted to play. I am the only person I know that plays games and I don't have a lot of friends but I have always wanted to play! :)

I hope you have a great week, Greg! Happy reading! :)

  26. I have to admit that I'm actually quite enjoying this season of GoT. It isn't my FAVORITE, but I'm definitely not hating it like others are. It is making me want to read the books, though. Happy reading!

  27. Lol! Loving all those Star Wars ones, Greg.

  28. I want to go back and reread ASoiaF from the beginning, lol. Have you read Fire & Blood- was wondering if it's a worthwhile read?

Welp, tonight should be interesting. I have very low expectations at this point, sadly, and am mostly tuning in so I understand all of the memes that are going to erupt on Twitter after the episode airs, lol. This season has been so badly written, and I'm really worried what D & D are going to do with Star Wars. :/

  31. I like all the Bond wear except for the blue short jumpsuit/romper. I just can't picture any guy I know wearing it. Love the locale for the ad, though!

Hope GoT goes ends well. :)

  33. When my sister in law had a melt down about waiting for the next GOT book, I decided that I was not even going to start that series and go through such angst. Nope, I'll wait. LOL

That pirate game does sound fun.

Love the Star Wars comics! Had me chuckling.

    Have a great week, Greg!

  34. Loved the Star Wars cartoons <3

I might be the only person on the planet at this point who does not remotely care about Game of Thrones. After all, the Plantagenet dynasty that it's based on is soooooo much cooler (even without dragons and zombie things) ;)

  35. I never read chapter samples simply because now it tempts me with what I can't have. I am tempted to go and try the books again though because they were so good.

  36. I hope you enjoy the final of GoT. I don't watch it but I heard of people who went to work early so they could be home to watch the final here tonight. And then someone on radio this morning named old shows that had millions more watching the final of different shows. Oh well when its a show you enjoy do you care!

    ReplyDelete
  37. After watching the end of GoT, I'm feeling the need to go ahead and finish what there is of the book series so far, including the chapter samples, and then go back and re-read them all.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Love the Star Wars comics! LOL. I loved the GoT books and will definitely read the final two books when (if??) they're published. I have a ton of mixed feelings about the end of the show, mostly Ugh! and Huh?

    ReplyDelete
  39. GoT is driving me insane. I haven't read the books but for those that have I really hope that the final book is the ending it deserves instead of what we've been given in the TV version!

Those Star Wars images had me giggling... Needed that in the middle of a boring work day. :)

  40. I haven't read any of the Game of Thrones books. I liked some of his earlier work but those just didn't catch my attention. I do read some preview chapters for authors I follow but tend to find them frustrating. I always want more! Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  41. My sons would love the 007 wear! They are huge fans. I listened to the GoT books and loved them. Still getting caught up on the series. Hope you aren't too soggy in your area, the rain can stop at anytime!

  43. LOL I love those Star Wars comics!! Those are awesome!

Those shoes are cool too, very summertime at the beach.

We are the final episode behind on GoT! Tonight we are going to watch it though. I am nervous!!! I have managed to avoid most spoilers.

    Have a great week!
