Top Ten Villains

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by
That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new Top Ten list will be posted. Everyone is welcome to join. Link back to The Broke and the Bookish so everyone can check out other bloggers' lists. It's a fun way to get to know fellow bloggers.

This week is Top Ten Villains- however we want to spin it. I'm going with villains that I'd like to know more about and/ or villains that are being redeemed/ or that I just like. Maybe because they're such awesome villains! So... here we go!

Jaime Lannister

A Storm of Swords (A Song of Ice and Fire, #3)

Harley Quinn

The Sith

Especially the Emperor.

Smaug (and dragons in general)

How can dragons not be on a list of villains?

The Hobbit

Ringwraiths

Capt. Nemo

Is he a villain?

BeiTech

I always love a good corporate villain.

  1. Looking back and thinking about it, I kind of wish I'd done a list of Marvel (or superhero) characters who are bettering themselves/doing good things despite a "dark" or villainous past. Someone like Harley Quinn. Oh, well! Next time.

  4. Dragons make great villains. Unless they're metallic dragons. They're good. ;-).

  5. I remember the first time I saw Jabba. He was terrifying.

  7. Very cool mix, Greg! And I like that Harley is up the top of your list too! (the end of the Nazgul chase never fails to give me chills!)

  8. OMG! How did I forget to include Palpatine! He's like, the ultimate evil! Awesome list, Greg!

  9. Great list! I haven't read the books, but I have to agree that Jaime Lannister has been such a fun villain to follow - then again the whole Lannister family is full of such depth, they're so addictive to watch.

  10. Yes, Smaug should definitely be on the villain list! Nice choice there.

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.

  11. You've got a great mix of villains here, and I love watching that scene from LOTR😁

  12. I picked Smaug too! Probably because I am in the middle of listening to The Hobbit on audio book. I went for Cersei Lannister instead of Jaime. There are so many villains to pick from in the GoT books isn't there?

  13. Definitely a nice mix of villains. I do love Harley Quinn, and I find her so fascinating.

  14. I love your inclusion of Star Wars villains! We just watched Return of the Jedi last night and it never gets old watching Leia choke Jabba ;) Great list!

    Here is our TTT.

  15. I thought about GoT and even Jaime Lannister when writing my list, but GRRM's stuff can make it hard to classify who's actually a villain. Like, maybe everybody.

  17. Jaime made my list too! I love the moral ambiguity of like EVERYONE in ASOIF

  18. Heck, all the Lannisters are. Lol.

  19. I love Harley Quinn and secretly want to be her!

  20. I just re-watched Suicide Squad, I love Harley Quinn.

  21. Jamie Lannister is a good one. And GoT isn’t lacking for villains! I nixed using any since I haven’t read the books (only watch the show) but I was thinking of both Ramsey and Joffrey.

  22. I'm with you on the Sith and Ringwraiths. They'd make my list, too...if I'd done one. ;)

  23. Yay for the id monster. Forbidden Planet is one of my favorite movies. 👍✨

  24. Lando and Boba Fett!! Two of my favorite SW characters! When I was a kid I would only drink from my Lando McDonald's glass. Lol.

    1. And Jamie too - he is probably my favorite GoT character right now.

  25. I was never a comic book kind of person. I've recently been making an effort to get into a few graphic novels and comics. I probably should read something with Harley Quinn in it because I am curious about her and all her renditions over the years :)

  26. I will be so happy if Jaime Lannister kills his sister. I’m crossing my fingers that it happens.

Aj @ Read All The Things!

  27. I agree, Jaime Lannister is becoming less of a villain as the series goes on. It's like he finally realizes, oh wait, I'm a really crappy person and so is my sister.

  28. Um, is it awful that I don't know ANY of these except BeiTech? So in lieu of discussing them, let's talk about OTHER villains. Like... Julie Mao's dad, what is HIS malfunction? And ummm Cage Wallace. He literally got all his people killed over something Skaikru could have donated. He's the dumbest tbh. Also, McCreary who ends entire planets. Ummm all the dead Queens inside Katharine! And Olivia from 12 Monkeys. These aren't even my favorite villains per se, but the ones I know we both know haha. (McCreary is totally a fave though, obviously.) OH how about the rapey dude from Impulse?!?! He really sucked!

  29. The fact that you put the id on here made me stupidly happy.

  30. I almost included Smaug on my list too! He's such a great villain! And the Sith! That's another great choice. Awesome list!

  31. I expect we'll be seeing lots of Jaime Lannister on these lists today! And I adore Harley Quinn! Coincidentally, I just got the Harley Quinn: Mad Love novel for review today, huzzah!

  32. I could've filled an entire ten from Game of Thrones! I was stuck with which Lannister to use and went with the one with no redeeming features!

  33. Great list! I only chose villains in general not a specific theme. ^^;
