Top Ten Books To Read By The Pool/ At The Beach

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Artsy reader Girl. Each week a new Top Ten list will be posted. Everyone is welcome to join. Link back so everyone can check out other bloggers' lists. It's a fun way to get to know fellow bloggers.

This week is top ten books to read by the pool or at the beach, so I wanted to pick stuff that involved water in some way, and preferably a summertime or island type vibe. There was lots to choose from so this was a fun topic!

The Deep End (The Country Club Murders #1)

Fun, no two ways about it!

The Blue

You probably knew this was coming, but this thriller is a beach read if I ever knew one.

Vitro (Corpus, #2)

Set on a tropical island, with human experiments... what's not to love?

The Girl from the Sea

Yup... the sea!

A Map for Wrecked Girls

Stranded on an island... yup.

The Honeymoon

You know this is gonna be trouble...

The Shark Club

Set in sunny Florida with a few other stops, this would be an outstanding beach read.

Dangerous Girls

Aruba!

Eight Hundred Grapes

Not strictly a beach read, but set in Napa wine country. See where I'm going with this?

Fear the Drowning Deep

Creepy plus island!

Tides

I mean yea?

Summer Days and Summer Nights: Twelve Love Stories

  1. I'm still very curious about Fear the Drowning Deep. I read the author's recent release and really liked it so hopefully that one will be for me as well.

  6. Nice books with water on the cover to read near water. I love it! Dangerous Girls is just such a great book, and I love seeing it on people's lists. Fear of Drowning Deep and Shark Club are two I hope to read at some point, and Summer Days is such an obvious choice for me too.

  19. I like what you did with the theme, Greg. Love that cover for The Girl from the Sea. I keep going back and forth on picking up Summer Days and Summer Nights. I read the winter/Christmas version and while there were some stories I really enjoyed there were also several that really fell flat for me.

  24. Great list! I wasn't a big fan of Summer Days and Summer Nights so I hope you enjoy it a lot more than I did - I did really enjoy Leigh Bardugo's story, though. The cover of Vitro is giving me The Island vibes, which always seems to be a film that I end up watching in the summer...

Though I'll be very honest, I would be the type to read Vitro as well. I wouldn't do any of the things from there like human experiments, but fictional is fair game indeed. 😈
