Comic of the Week #17

Alex + Ada #12

Comic of the Week has been on a long hiatus but I wanted to bring it back since I've been reading graphic novels and comics again. Every week I'm going to showcase a comic or GN cover- could be old, could be new- and share a few thoughts on why I think it's special. Do you like what I picked out? Let me know in the comments, and as always, if you have a favorite cover or piece of comic art, let me know!

This week is Alex and Ada #12. I like this one for the simplicity of it, and the sense that Ada is not truly human, at least in the physical sense. As exemplified by her purple blood.

  4. Such an eyecatching cover!
I recently read my very first GN - and enjoyed it - so hopefully your series here will help me pinpoint others to try out :-)

  6. I love this feature! There are sooo many amazing comic covers out there, so I look forward to seeing what you choose each week. :)

As for this one, I also love the simplicity of it. I haven't heard of the comic itself, but the cover alone makes me want to know more. Is that blood? Why is it purple? Is this person human (you said they weren't, but it makes me curious)?

  7. I love Alex + Ada, and I love seeing all the volume covers! It's funny because I had the same thought about it showing how very NOT human she is! Fabulous choice :)

  9. Yay for reading more GNs and comics! I haven't been reading many lately, though I do have some on my TBR. I like the simplicity of this cover too! And the contrasting colors were a great choice. And also the purple blood that does show her unhumanness!

  11. Never heard of Alex & Ada but the cover is very intriguing! I think I’ll have to hunt this series down. Thanks Greg for breaking your hiatus and introducing this GN!
