  3. I've been meaning to add The School for Unusual Girls to my TBR! Thanks:)

  4. Nice! I found this one to be a little challenging actually! Lol! At least if I were sticking with one age level genre. I had to mix them up with adult and YA titles!

    Here's my Tuesday Post

    Have a GREAT day!

    1. Well there are so many ways you can go with this one. When I saw some of the lists out there I was like oh I didn't put nearly enough time into this lol!

  5. Look at this list and it's only the tip of the iceberg. Sighs. While I was doing this TTT I got so irritated with publishers and covers like this with what they're doing with titles like this, I just couldn't bring myself to put covers together. Does my head in Greg!

  6. I’m curious about why “girl” is common in so many books. It seems to put women in their place, I think.

  7. Yes, there are tons of books out there that use the word "girl." I've seen several other TTT bloggers use this word for today's post so far.

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thanks!

  8. I've honestly never thoughts about this before, so funny! Now I'm going to pay attention and see what I notice is used a lot! :P

  9. Good one! I couldn't do this one so I made my own list again this week.

  10. Oh my Gosh! You are right, the word "Girl" is everywhere. Great choice!

  11. Oh yeah, “girl” is used A LOT. I get it in YA novels but it always seems odd to me in mystery/thriller titles since the focus is rarely on a girl, but a woman. Interesting.

    1. It is used WAY too much, and yes! Why not woman???

  12. Yep, if I had done the topic this week, I would have gone with the same word! Way overused!

  13. You're so right! This TTT is making me notice titles I barely glanced at.

  14. This word is pretty popular today! I'm sure I have plenty of books with the word "girl" on my shelves😁

  15. Oh my gosh, yes. Girl does seem to appear on so many titles. Have a great week. - Katie

  16. Funny...I just never noticed this before plus I read quite a few of those books!

  17. What a great choice. I never even thought of 'girl'.

  18. Oh good one! I love what everyone has come up with.

  19. It's amusing how long girl has been trending in titles. I posted a similar list a couple years ago, and it is still a very marketable word to use.

  20. 'Girl' was one of my first thoughts as well. It is used WAY too much, especially when a lot of the character actually adult women. It's definitely popular!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Girl is so overused now! It's like everyone thinks it's needed to be "edgy." :)

    ReplyDelete
  22. Ahh yes, the girl trend which at some point tried to go for woman but then went back to girl..

    ReplyDelete
  23. I was thinking girl too! Makes me wonder how many titles will have the word "boy" in it.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Oh yes, girl is such a good choice. So many titles have girl on!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I spotted a few titles with the word 'girl' post putting mine topic together this week. But oh well! There's next time, right!? :)

I've been SO close to picking up 'Map' a few times, but haven't. Not sure if it'd be a "me read" or not.

Thanks for visiting Finding Wonderland, Greg.

  26. Gosh "Girl" is a common one!

  27. I've seen several people mention Girl being a super popular word in titles lately (and some debates about if it's demeaning since most of the time the books are about a woman, not a girl).

  28. Girl is definitely a popular word today. I mean, it's in a lot of books lately, so I undertsand why!! Great list :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. This could have been a hard topic. Definitely see a lot of books with girl in the title

    ReplyDelete
  30. YES! I was thinking the same - "Girl" is in so many titles, especially suspense/thriller books. I've notice "Woman" and "Daughter" and "Wife" a lot too. Here's my take this week - I went a little differently than the prompt. :)

  31. YES! So many “girl” books. There’s even a book that’s just called The Girls. A lot of the "girl" books aren’t even about girls! The characters are adult women.

  32. Another well chosen word, because this list has so many fabulous books on it that I read. I can think of Girl out of Water, Twenties Girl, Girl of Fire and Thorns. Lots of good "girl" books out there.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I think you could spend a couple of days coming up with titles with girl in it. It's used so often.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Isn't amazing how so many of us found GIRL as a commonly used word in book titles?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Other than words that have something to do with royalty, girl is the most popular word this week.

  36. Haha, we were definitely on the same wavelength when it came to this week's topic!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Wow, there really are a ton- and sadly, I could probably think of a bunch more. I feel like the book titlers just throw some generic words into some kind of Title Generator and out this crap pops. Girl of Fire and Ash or some such nonsense, you know? And goodness, if you added "daughter" or "queen" to this list I think you'd have officially included half of all published books. I wish titles were more creative!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Oh my gosh, SO many thrillers with "girl" in the title! Now I can't un-see it :P

    ReplyDelete
  39. You're right, Girl is used a LOT in book titles, especially in mysteries and thrillers. I just did a quick search of my books on goodreads, and it's very frequent in my YA reads too :D

  40. This one is so common, along with "princess" and "queen." I guess we only have so many words to choose from! XD

    ReplyDelete
  41. Now that I think about it I think every third unreliable narrator thriller has the world girl in the title. It's kind of crazy!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Haha, the word Girl is definitely used too much in book titles! Nice picks!

    ReplyDelete
  43. There really are tons with "girl" in it. One title trend I am really sick of is "The (Blank)'s Son/Daughter". I feel like everything for a while had that sort of name.

    ReplyDelete
  44. "Girl" is overused, especially in thrillers!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I'm seeing a lot of the same things on blogs this week! I decided to avoid this topic!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Our topic choice was so similar this week!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Ha ha, yep, girl was one of mine, too. XD

    ReplyDelete
  48. There are certainly too many titles with girl.
