  1. One of Us is Lying had a lot of buzz surrounding its release, but it's one of those books I never picked up. Still... perhaps someday I'll take a closer look (I do enjoy a good mystery now and again).

Just finished Warcross this morning and discovered I really enjoyed this one. Such an entertaining read. My only complaint? I had NO idea it was part of series!! Way to leave the reader curious. :D

  12. I already read "Dark Matter" last year but I agree that it was fantastic, it was definitely one of my 2016 favorites!

I'm also glad to see "Gemina" on your list. I know that a lot of people were disappointed by this sequel but I enjoyed it almost just as much as "Illuminae"!

Here are my favorite books of 2017 so far

  14. Any list with Kelley Armstrong on it is a great one. Some really good looking books here. I still love the cover of The Shark Club even though I've never picked it up and don't know if I will. Great list Greg and hope you're having a great Peanut-filled holiday so far.

  15. Ugh I really need to read Warcross!! And yes to Dark Matter! That one was a ton of fun.

  16. Happy to see One of Us Is Lying getting some love on your list as well! I've been hesitant to try The Secret History of Us. I read Jessi's Moonglass back when it debuted, and I didn't like it all the much :( Warcross is also on my TBR list - I love Marie's books!

  17. The cover for Radio Silence is really eerie and well done. Now I'm wanting to read it.

Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thanks for stopping by earlier today!

  25. There are a fair number of books on here that I hadn't heard of, so I think I'll want to look those up. :) One of Us Is Lying and The Secret History of Us are both ones that I am still hoping to pick up soon, glad to see they made your favorites! I also loved Gemina. The Illuminae files is one series that I never expected to like, but I just can't get enough of it. Great list!

    1. One Of Us Is Lying and The secret History are two that were both pleasant surprises. I hope you like either of them or both if you give em a try! And Gemina I liked even more than Illuminae.

  26. Gemina, Warcross, and One of Us Is Lying are some of my faves. I also liked The Secret History of Us, and will definitely read more from Kirby. I need to get Shark Club. It sounds so good and everyone is raving. I think I am suffering from FOMO over that book.

  27. Great list! One of Us is Lying is on my TBR, too, and I've heard so many good things about the Illuminae books that I'll have to check them out soon.

  28. I kinda get depressed reading these lists. Everybody points out their favorite 10 books of the year and I’ve hardly read any of them. It makes me want to read them all!

  29. I really really want to read 'One of Us is Lying" and it is on my TBR. Every time I try to check it out from the library, all seven copies are always in use. I think I will just get myself in line right now...and I checked, I am now the 8th hold on 7 copies. Hopefully I get it by Christmas break!

  30. Awesome, I've actually read five of these. I loved Dark Matter and Gemina, though I read them in 2016. If I recall correctly both of those made my best-of list for last year as well.

  31. Ugh I see so many books I want to read on your list. I have always been curious about the Illuminae series. Is it going to be a trilogy? I don't like starting a series until all the books are out if possible.

  32. I have Radio Silence and Dark Matter on my list for next year in my something different category. They both look really good. As does Warcross and Gemina. Okay really all of them! I need more reading time!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Warcross is one 2017 release that I need to get my hands on soon. Great list!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I haven't read any of these...! But four, oh wait five (Shark Club just made it onto my TBR pile) are on my TBR list!

So glad for you that you had so many great reads for the year.

  35. This is basically my TBR. Radio Silence and Dark Matter are those I really want to read but I've seen the rest around so much and I'm very curious. Maybe next year I'll read some of these..

    ReplyDelete
  36. Dark Matter was one of my favorites last year! It was the very definition of a page-turner!

    ReplyDelete
  37. All System's Red was also a favorite of mine this year and in a novella package even! Looks to be a pretty diverse list! Have a great holiday!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Nice list! I need to get caught up with Armstrong. it's been ages.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I still haven't read Gemina! I loved the first book but just haven't gotten around to the sequel. That is something I must do in 2018. :)

    ReplyDelete
  40. Here's hoping for a lot of good reads in 2018!

    ReplyDelete
  41. I've seen Warcross on so many blogs lately, and I loved her Legend trilogy so I have high hopes for this. It even sounds a bit like Ready Player One with less nostalgia so I'm all for this

  47. Bravo, bravo!! Would you believe I have Obsidio but haven't finished it!! It's the ARC so I really need to go buy the book with the real images in it... at least that's my excuse ;)

  48. I recently got a copy of Warcross and I'm so excited to read it. I've also heard some pretty good things about Radio Silence :)

  49. That's quite an impressive list, Greg! I haven't read any on your list and only have one on my TBR pile at the moment (Warcross), but they all sound so tempting! It sounds like you had a great reading year. I hope you have another good one in 2018!
