Sunday Post #210

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer

It's been a pretty slow week, nice and quiet. I did a bit more reading amd I'm continuing with my rewatches of Continuum and the 100. Because I don't have enough NEW shows to watch, I have to watch old ones. :) But I have to say it's been nice to revisit the first two seasons of The 100 in particular, so thanks to Shannon for pushing me along! Other than that it's been pretty quiet, not a lot happening besides it being September now. Which is baffling to me.

Last week I posted Part IX of On the Run and Part X will be this week (and I had no clue there would even be a Part X). Zounds! I reviewed Friend Request and read Wreck- that review will be soon- and On the Run X will be up Monday.

  1. I've been wanting to check out 100, as well, but my tv and movie list is getting longer and longer. I only know that it will get worse as the new Fall season starts up. (lol) Really like that Mike Shayne Mystery throwback. Very cool! Hugs...RO

    1. The 100 is pretty great. And I know the feeling! Glad you liked the pulp cover this week- it is kinda fun. :)

  2. My TV list is way too long and I really need to get one series watched every month at the very least. But I get distracted by things like Masterchef, Deadliest Catch and Bake Off! At least I'm getting films watched which is an improvement!

    1. I know what you mean. I have SO many shows to watch although I'm binging them down slowly but surely! And yay for films- that's one area where I have totally fallen down. Haven't see a film in a while.

  3. Looking forward to seeing your thoughts on One Dark Throne :) Hope you enjoy it!

    Glad you're enjoying re-watching the 100 series 1 and 2. I've been so preoccupied with other shows I haven't started series 2 yet :(

Hope you have a great week, Greg.

    1. I did like One Dark Throne and can't wait to see people's reactions! I feel like it ups the game a bit? And The 100 is so fun- and S2 is probably my favorite. Hope you enjoy if you watch it!!!

  4. I haven't read Three Dark Crowns yet, but I'm really excited to. I love the covers as well! Also, the Song Pick sounded awesome and I added it to my playlist. Great post!

  5. Ahh! I love the cover of One Dark Throne that you got! Mine is the one of the actual throne. Can't wait to discuss those books! Under spoiler tags, of course!

Glad you had a nice quiet week. Not sure if you saw my cheeky little comment on last week's post about linking all your 'On The Run' posts in your next one?

Can't wait to actually delve back and catch up on your blog properly, especially on your episode recaps of GoT! I'm officially ready to start the new season.... Unfortunately it's a bit of a busy weekend for me, but hopefully I'll at least get one or two in! Hopefully! šŸ¤ž

    1. I love that cover too, and to be honest that's not the cover I have but I used it because I love it! And yes lots to discuss in these books!!

I did see your comment and I agree- I really should make it easier for people to read previous installments. Thanx for the suggestions!

Thanks for taking the time to browse around- I appreciate! And don't feel bad- real life makes it h ard to blog sometimes but has to come first! Hope you enjoy Got!!!

  9. Quiet weeks aren't a bad thing. Sometimes just enjoying some TV and books is exactly what you need and your rewatch of The 10 sounds like a great idea. I definitely need to catch up on the show so maybe I'll have a rewatch of it all. Hope you have a great week.

    1. It was nice to have a quiet week especially since September probably won't be as quiet! I've definitely enjoyed my The 100 rewatch and it's amazing how many things I've forgotten. So I guess it was a good idea.

    1. The first two seasons of the 100 are really good, for me it was S3 that I didn't like. The characters were still fine, it was the story. S4 was a redemption of sorts, but those first two= lots of fun.

  12. I am having trouble believing it is September too. I am glad it is here though. I need to go back and pick up where I left off with On the Run. I had fallen behind during my vacation. I am really enjoying it! I've been seeing One Dark Throne around. It looks like it will be good. I hope you enjoy it!

I hope you have a great weekend and week, Greg!

  13. See, rewatching really IS better than worrying about new stuff ;) Until you get to S3 and get super angry at Pillamy, and then ALL the chipped people. I digress, it's still worth it.

The Future City pictures remind me of 2077 in Continuum! I love The Bridge, too. It's like somehow both lovely and terrifying. And the last video, goodness, that is gorgeous!! I am also so impressed that you're already on part 10 of On the Run! At this point, you might as well just write a whole book :)

Looking forward to your thoughts about Wreck- it looks really good, and I am curious!

  14. It does seem like we skipped most of summer. Feels odd. I've started rewatching Stranger Things and just finished catching up on Game Of Thrones. My son talked me into watching The Defenders. Not too sure about it but will keep watching for now. It seems to be picking up in the third episode. Great pics, as always. And I like that pulp cover.

  15. I am re-watching Nurse Jackie on Netflix; I might also decide to watch Cheers and Friends there, since I've never seen all episodes of either show.

Enjoy your week of reading and watching, and thanks for visiting my blog.

  16. I have to get back to The 100 one of these days too. It's just that I don't feel like watching TV much these days. I have so many good books to read;)

  21. My TV watching is liable to get far busier - Himself requested the boxed set of GoT for his birthday, which includes the first 6 episodes so we can experience them together. Given I'm also watching the Cormoran Strike mini-series, the Great British Bakeoff and Strictly is about to start up again, I may just have to take my TV intravenously... Have a great week, Greg:) My Sunday Post -

    1. You know I used to never watch TV, before I started blogging and got hooked on all these shows! The 100 is lots of fun and the characters are so compelling, it's one of those shows that's fun to talk about!

I thought Wreck was pretty good, not amazing or anything but solid, and it's set in Australia, which I liked.

  31. Oh, that Nox Atacama film is beautiful. I love the music, too.

Since we got rid of cable tv (and can't get broadcast TV where we are), I haven't watched anything when it's new. But it can be fun to rewatch old favorites via DVD or Netflix or Amazon streaming. And I've discovered some shows that may not be new but are new to me. All the same, I think we're going to subscribe to CBS All Access this fall, so we can watch the new Star Trek series. :-)

You know I'm kinda anticipating the new Blade Runner just because I want to see a new take, and the music and the visuals... but I'm expecting to be disappointed, so if it's actually good then bonus!!

  33. I'm glad to see you had a nice quiet week Greg, it feels like ages since I had one of those! As I'm sure I've mentioned before I am super behind on my tv shows, so for the last two weeks I've been trying to play catch up, I'm almost done with season 6 of Game of Thrones! I know I don't know how I've managed to stay away from all the spoilers! I've also heard great things about The 100, another list that I'll be adding to my to watch list! I hope you have a great week! :)
