Cover Characteristics

Cover Characteristics is a meme by Sugar and Snark- every week a characteristic is selected and we post 5 books with that week's theme.

This week  is  Cemeteries/ Tombstones. Such a cheery topic! Seriously though, wouldn't this be a great pick for October? When I think of this I think of a brisk wind rustling through the trees, golden leaves underfoot, stark branches against a night sky... moonlight shining down. Shadows in the moonlight, a look over your shoulder as you walk down a dark street, the oasis of a streetlamp...

Autumn Thorns (Whisper Hollow, #1)Plague Town (Ashley Parker, #1)The Murder at the Vicarage (Miss Marple #1)Grave Dance (Alex Craft, #2)
A Grave Mistake (Blackmore Sisters Mystery #6)

Autumn Thorns (Whisper Hollow, #1)

Plague Town (Ashley Parker, #1)

I'm not super crazy about this one.

Grave Dance (Alex Craft, #2)

This one i like a lot with the splash of color from her green top and the city in the background.

A Grave Mistake (Blackmore Sisters Mystery #6)

This one is kinda fun with the girl front and center- her hair and eyes kinda stand out, and there's a dragonfly (?) in the background.  Anyway this one is interesting.

The Murder at the Vicarage (Miss Marple #1)

This one's my favorite. Not only is it a classic but I like the stark branches against the sky and the tombstone.

  1. Ooh my favorites are Autumn Thorns, Plague Town, and Grave Dance (I used that one too!). I do like the Agatha Christie one too though. The colors and the contrast look great. And the graphic-y ones are nice. (The sideways head cat is a nice touch lol. I probably wouldn't have even noticed that.)

I'm intrigued by the review on Plague Town that says, "Sexy, weird, creepy," so I will totally be checking that book out. The fact that "sexy, weird, creepy" is what makes me interested in a book probably says something about my sanity, but whatevs :-P

    1. LOL I'm kinda curious about it now too with a description like that. I like weird sometimes... and I have to say some of these covers are making me want to try these books. :P

Grave Dance is nice, there's something about that one, and I like the cat too. Looks fun. :)

  3. Good ones!!! I love Plague Town (the cover is meh, but the book is great) and I still need to read the last one in that series. I like the Agatha Christie book cover a lot. I can't believe I've still never read any of her books!

    1. So you've read those? Good to know- we were just talking about that one above. I haven't seen it before... and I know about Christie, I haven't read her either. I tried one of her books but was bored, sorry to say. It wasn't one of the better known ones though- maybe I should try again. :)

  4. We both had Agatha Christie's on our list. I was not overly impressed with that one, but it was one of her firsts. What a great list!
