Sunday Post



So the results of my Christmas survey of what everyone ate is as follows. Ham seems to be popular, as well as potatoes (roasted and cheesy) and baked mac and cheese. Someone else had lasagna too (we did) and turkey, sandwiches, chicken. Steak, ravioli. Beef Wellington, Thai. So much variety. Pizza! Tacos and enchiladas (yummy). Brunch, snacks, bagels with cream cheese, cabbage. Finger foods. And blueberry pancakes! I'm hungry!        

In other news I'm starting a Patreon. I love supporting writers and artists and I decided to do this since I'll be posting my stories on Wattpad and Royal road going forward. A lot of people over there do Patreons to support their writing. And I want to write more. Sites like Wattpad and RR are almost like modern day pulp mags, where serialized stories can live on. Different demographics and genres, but still. I'll still be posting stuff here, but one of the benefits of Patreon is that I can make more chapters available early to subscribers. 

Anyway, that's my shameful self promotion for the week. :)

    Good luck with your Patreon venture. It's not something I'm familiar with...no surprise...but I'll have to check into it. And I'm glad you're going to continue to write. You have such fun story ideas. :D

    There's no shame in promoting your work especially since you put a lot of efforts into it. I would like to know your experience with patreon and wattpad or anything you've tried as a writer.

    I'm sorry I missed the Christmas survey! I find it crazy people are eating Ham but I'm guessing that's a predominantly US response? In my house Christmas dinner is turkey and stuffing with pigs in blankets (mini sausages wrapped in bacon) with both mash and roast potatoes with sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower carrots, roast parsnips, and then slightly controversially we have Yorkshire puddings which should really be served with beef or maybe pork. But that's a traditional UK Christmas dinner anyway and we had turkey for days which my cat loved.

    Good luck with your patreon! You should all be loud and proud in sharing your work considering the work which goes into it.

    I subscribe to three Patreons for authors that I love, one is only like $1 a month, but it's worth it for every little extra even that gets you. Yeah, we do ham, although my sister doesn't like ham, so my stepmom also makes a small turkey breast for her on Christmas. Have a great week!

    In Poland, during Christmas we have a completely traditional Lent menu - carp, herring, cabbage with peas, cabbage with mushrooms, pasta with poppy seeds, dried fruit compote... Dishes that are eaten only on Christmas Eve.

    It's so interesting to read about everyone's meals for Christmas Day. Until I got older, I thought everyone had another Thanksgiving meal on Christmas. I was shocked to find out that's not the case, lol.

    My family have turkey for Christmas dinner, but my dad's talking about wanting to "retire" from that, so we're definitely in the market for a new tradition, hahaha. Probably can't sell 'em all on pizza or tacos, though...

    We had one dinner with Mexican food at Thanksgiving and another dinner with Mexican food at Christmas (different hosts). Pretty popular here in Texas.

    If you haven't started your Patreon yet, you should check out Ream, as it's a subscription platform for authors made by authors. I really love putting my work there and they just launched their Discovery engine so people can find the types of stories they like to read. Congrats on deciding to publish more!
