Sunday Post #525

I have a little butterfly friend who flits around the yard. It's white and tiny. The other day it got ran over by a chipmunk running around my landscaping. Such a fragile thing- but it keeps on hanging out.

So it's official. I have two stories going. I'm bringing On the Run back- some of you may remember it from a few years back. It's similar to my ongoing Joon story, I suppose- the Gates are a recurring theme- but On The Run is where it all began and I'm looking forward to revisiting.

In other news I started Parallel World- thanks Ellie! It's on Viki.

This week's discussion post is Some Thoughts on Book Blogging

Here is this week's lyric.
I was so lonely until I met you
Told myself I'd get by without love

Here is the lyric f/ last week and the answer

I'm all out of hope
One more bad dream

   Song of the week

  2. Nice to have lovely butterfly visiting the yard. A good omen. The last book cover looks so retro and so good.

  7. Oh, I was trying to post a note but it never got published..Always something. Hope you see another butterfly again..although, it has gotten colder here. Really great Hoodie weather! I was thinking that was a Billy Idol tune...Love that vintage book cover! Awesome!
I was busy yesterday making bananna pudding for someone's birthday. Yeah, I'm a last minute kind of short cook. I had to go to the grocery store and everything to get all the ingredients..which is more than banannas and pudding. You need whiping cream and condensed milk to make it decadent. Oh, and I finally got a Rachel & Huck installment done too.
All the best to your writing. Have lots of fun now! p.s...yes! I did try the pumpkin spice Frosty at Wendys! Really fantastic how the pumpkin flavor and maple comes together. It looks kind of funny, like I wasn't sure I wanted to try it, but I'm glad I did.

    1. I haven't had any seasonal drinks yet!!!!! Well, you better get your daughter to make you something! Yeah, now I wouldn't mind trying the Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew at Windys! Thanks for reading! Yeah, I kind of like these two together. And finally got around to giving her brother a name.
We had a nice Birthday lunch out with family today. But it's so expensive. I just might have to make me Margarita now since I didn't have one there. There's are expensive and sugary too. Of course, somebody had to have two and it wasn't me.
Hope the writing is going well. Oh, I can imagine the critters you might have in your back yard. We live behind CVS and still have a heard of deer sleeping in the back yard most mornings. Then the bunny who does not like iceberg lettuce but will munch on some carrots. And then those pesky raccoons visit at night too.

  8. You had me worried when you talked about the butterfly being run over. Glad it survived.

  9. I hope the butterfly was all right after its run-in! I can't believe I didn't pick last week's song, argh. Have a great week. :)

  12. Butterflies are so pretty. Yay for Billy Idol. I read your post about book blogging. I feel the same way, book blogging has changed my life too. You find new friends, new book and author recs and it's just fun. Enjoy your week!

  13. Yes - I always love it when we have butterflies in the garden - though they don't have chipmunks to contend with:)). And what a lovely familiar scene - a walk through London late at night. It's a really buzzy place to wander around. Have a great week, Greg:)).

  15. Butterflies and bees love my flowers and herbs. The bees seem especially drawn to the oregano. It's wonderful you are enjoying your writing. My reading is overloaded right now and I'm trying to catch up.

  17. Love that Billy Idol song, but guess I don't know the lyrics very well. I find myself silently cheering the monarch butterflies I've seen earlier this year on and hoping they get away from the predators! lol. I wish I could get inspired to write again. I have tiny brief moments of wanting to get back to a story, then I just don't have the willpower to sit down and do that instead of anything else I'm always doing. I hope you have a good week!

  21. Awww, I loved reading about your butterfly friend. :) Also, I just read your post on Some Thoughts on Book Blogging. Loved what you had to say about this! I started a different blog in 2012 and had no clue what I was doing for ten years! LOL. That's why I didn't share it with too many people, but I stuck with it. I called it a "playground for my thoughts". Last year, I finally figured out which direction I wanted to go in, so I started Caboodle of Cozies. Even though it's been just a little over a year, it really has changed my life too. I'm happy to have "met" so many people and I've learned so much from everyone. :-))

  23. I rarely see butterflies anymore, too bad, I love them. I hope to check out your stories soon!

  24. Well done Greg. I love butterflies too. I saw a caterpillar a few days ago which surprised me - will it have time for metamorphosis before our first hard frost? Love Billy Idol. Have a great week.

  25. Glad to hear the butterfly survived! I love watching nature in my surrounding area. Sad when they die. Happy writing, Greg!

  27. You find the most interesting videos! Love that video by She Walks. I decided to subscribe to it because she does such a great job. And the actual pictures is brilliantly clear. You are filling my Youtube save file to the brim. lol

  32. It's great that you're writing regularly! I'm working on that, but "regular" and I aren't as well-acquainted as I would like, and never have been, so it's a challenge. Best of luck with your writing! Are you doing NaNoWriMo this year?

  33. A friend of mine got to see Billy Idol in concert about two years ago and said he puts on a great show. I enjoy your stories and am glad you are writing the two now and sharing them with us! I hope you have a great week, Greg.

  34. Butterflies are the best. Glad to hear she survived the squirrel attack! And Parallel World sounds interesting, I'll need to try it.

  37. So glad the butterfly is okay. Often fragile things are so much stronger than we know. I hope you're having a wonderful week!

  38. Getting a little too cold here for butterflies now, but my kids are excited to raise some in a butterfly habitat over the fall season!

  39. I really need to get caught up with all the writing stuff, I love those stories! I remember extra loving On the Run, too, so that one I must reacquaint myself with! The butterfly is very sweet, I hope she lives a long life. My mom is convinced that a butterfly in her yard is her mom, and I like that story, so maybe your butterfly is someone too!

Okay so real talk: How do we make a living being those walking-filming people? Because why am I over here grinding away when instead, I could be THAT GUY!? Seriously, this is my new life goal. Walking and filming.

  40. I thought your butterfly friend was done for, and I was so worried!

  41. Aw, poor butterfly! Glad they're resilient!

  42. That must be something, coming from the butterfly's perspective, a big old chipmunk running you over.

I echo everything you said about the book blogging community in your discussion post.

I only have a handful of friends that I actually see in person and do anything with and I don't tell them even half the stuff I tell my online friends. lol I don't have any "real life" friends that I can be 100% myself around. Just you guys know the real me. LOL

  43. Uh oh! Sorry to hear about the butterfly friend. Hopefully they're okay!
