Fandom Mashup Revisited


Some of you may remember the old Fandom Mashups feature hosted by Micheline at Lunar Rainbows Reviews. I decided to repost a couple of those. The premise is Micheline would post a scenario and we would assemble a dream team from various fandoms to address the crisis. So... here's one of my faves.

You've gained the ability to communicate with animals. Which magical (or non-magical) animals are you hoping to chat with?  

The Great Eagles of Tolkien 


The Rats of NIMH


Intelligent rats with technology living under the rosebush. Who knows what they could share? 

Cats

I think of all the animals a cat would be the most interesting to talk to. Hunters and connoisseurs of comfort, they could tell us a lot. 

Birds

Just everyday birds (although I imagine an owl would be interesting)- kinda like Radagast in Lord of the Rings, imagine what the birds could tell us.  

Dragons

And of course the big D. Some say the dragons can enspell a being with its words or work magic. Perhaps they speak an elder tongue that predates man. Regardless surely a dragon would know the best secrets.

    I agree with you about cats. I feel like they would have a LOT to say, mainly in the form of complaints about the accommodations 😂 But how cool would it be to KNOW what an animal is thinking, right!?

    Animals do have a certain perspective of our daily lives. I know I would love to know what secrets my dog might know. Thanks for the cool tag.

    Dragons would be cool. Would be a real Dragonborn speaking with the ancient Dovahs.

    Yes, cats would definitely be on my list! I love their behavior and just love them. Yes, crazy cat lady here, and I sometimes go down a rabbit hole of watching funny cat videos on Instagram or Tick Tok! Happy Thanksgiving, Greg! :)

    Of course I would also like to talk to cats. And the birds. That can only be interesting. Spiders!! Like Charlotte. I have quite a few Daddy Long Legs in the Library (they tend to love books, don't they). So I always tell the kids not to harm them as they are all Charlotte's friends. My spiders all live in peace.

    I think I'd rather be able to communicate with dogs rather than cats because I'm thinking cats are so extremely judgmental. 😁
