Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new Top Ten list will be posted. Everyone is welcome to join. Link back so everyone can check out other bloggers' lists. It's a fun way to get to know fellow bloggers.
This week is authors I've read the most books by. I'm gonna tweak this to just be authors I've read multiple books by, since I don't feel like thinking that hard and honestly, I don't even know offhand who I've read the most by.
I've read a surprising number of Armstrong's books now, mostly the Rockton series but also a couple standalones.
I seem to be devouring whatever she puts out!
Franklin Dixon- who was really a bunch of writers for the Stratemeyer group who did the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew books. Devoured these as a kid!
Martin of course!
Jessica Khoury- I've enjoyed everything of hers that I've read.
Ditto with Lisa Jewell.
I read a lot of Alexander's mysteries a few years ago.
Edgar Rice Burroughs- I read a TON of his stuff as a kid, mainly the John Carter of Mars and Tarzan stuff.
Lin Carter! Just like Burroughs, as a kid I read lots of his planetary adventure stories.
You just made me laugh with your list. I went through my shelves and spreadsheet to figure out the numbers. It never occured to me that I could do this TTT the way you obviously did it *lol* Happy reading and stay safe and well!

ReplyDeleteOkay - let's try again! I still love the Hardy Boys and still get the kids at school to read it. I haven't read a Lisa Jewel yet and you have been ranting and raving about her books forever. Will need to do something about it.

I read a lot of Kelley Armstrong's books back in the day, especially the Otherworld series.
ReplyDeleteI was very annoyed that Goodreads removed the ability to search by most read authors! I spent quite a lot of time counting them up myself and no doubt missed off a few that never made it onto Goodreads int he first place!

ReplyDeleteGeorge Martin and Lisa Jewell are authors I've read alot, but I didn't think about them for my top 10. Huh.

This TTT made me think of childhood reads too! I read tons of Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys books. I've been meaning to read Kelly Armstrong. Thanks for sharing!

It's so weird - I used to binge read authors all the time but now I tend to bounce around more and almost every one is a new author or I get to a familiar one late after the release.

I didn't do this TTT because it did feel too hard to try and figure out which author I've read the most over the years. I should've done what you did, but oh well... ;D

ReplyDeleteI love the Rockton series! I have no interest in Armstrong's fantasy books, but I do love her mystery/thrillers. I've read a couple good ones by Jewell as well.

ReplyDeleteI used LibraryThing to show me how many books by author I had in my collections there to jog my memory. We don't have any overlap in our lists, but you reminded me I want to read the book that comes after One of Us Is Lying. I think there is a follow-up!?
ReplyDeleteI started keeping track of my books on Goodread back in 2009 that has really helped me easily get statistics like how many books I've read by certain authors. But now I need to go and back fill for books I read before 2009. Who has the time?

ReplyDeleteI've read all McManus' books to date. I'll read whatever she comes up with next. Lisa Jewell is usually riveting, but sad when all is said and done. Kelley Armstrong's Rockton series is amazing! I've read a few of her YA's which were real good too, IMO. :)
I did not know that about The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew authors!!

ReplyDeleteIt took a surprising amount of research to figure out my most-read authors. I didn’t know it would be so hard to figure out my favorites! I started reading the Game of Thrones books, but I quit because I don’t trust the author to ever finish the series.

ReplyDeleteMan I have never read any of the books by the authors on this list. A lot of them look like classics that I should really get to. I've wanted really badly to read ASOIAF but I've been hesitant about reaching the end and waiting with the rest of the world for the last two books.

ReplyDeleteI just did an estimate of ten of my most read authors as my brain didn't want a stressful workout on Goodreads trying to collect data! I read a ton when I was a kid but I don't remember ever reading a Hardy Boys book, which seems a bit strange for a rabid reader. I don't recall reading Nancy Drew either!
