This week is a free topic and I decided to go with Nancy Drew book covers.
Gotta' love a good vintage-esque cover. The 'Hidden Staircase' cover is probably the one I see floating around the most. :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow, you just took me straight back to my childhood reading days with these fabulous covers. Great post!
ReplyDeleteI love the covers for this series - there is so much variety over the years! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea! :) I have Hidden Staircase, still.
ReplyDeleteOh man, I'm such a sucker for a good cover and these are all fantastic! Great idea for your freebie!
ReplyDeleteHere is my TTT: https://ichlese.blog/2020/07/28/top-ten-tuesday-my-favorite-seasonal-book-movie-sustenance-pairings/
Yippy yea, Greg! I love your post!!! I so wish that I've read Nancy Drew when I was younger. Now it's just not that forceful. BUT I have a couple of them in the library at school and you should see the girls fighting over the books. They love it! Some of them are still in there original vintage covers.
ReplyDeleteI got up early this morning to do my TTT, otherwise I don't get time. Have a lekker (that means good in Afrikaans) day! 10 Reasons why reading and blogging is good for you
There is something about Nancy Drew covers ;)
ReplyDeleteI've never read Nancy Drew but these covers make me think I'd love the books.
ReplyDeleteHere's my TTT if you want to take a look https://readwithstefani.com/10-books-i-want-to-read-by-the-end-of-2020/ Have a great day ahead!
Great list! I never read any Nancy Drew growing up, but these covers are so fun.
ReplyDeleteI have never read Nancy Drew books but watched some of the series. Idk if there's anything similar to it or they just adapted it somehow? Can you tell? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI see she seems a classic Greg!
ReplyDeleteGreat covers, Greg! I have never read any of the Nancy Drew books, but this making me wish I had! When I was a kid I was reading The Secret Seven instead.😃
ReplyDeleteHere’s my TTT post for this week: https://thebookwormchronicles.wordpress.com/2020/07/28/top-ten-tuesday-historical-fiction/?wref=tp , where I share the last 10 historical-fictions I have enjoyed. 🙂
The cover for The Message in the Hollow Tree is hilarious 😂 I haven't read any Nancy Drew but they certainly seem like classics!!
ReplyDeleteOh nice! That last cover is one I remember well! I remember getting a set of these way back in the day and they had that yellow top. I can't remember reading many of them. A lot of the books I read before my paranormal days are kind of a blur.
ReplyDeleteHere's my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Nancy Drew covers make me nostalgic, too. :)
ReplyDeleteMy TTT .
Oh wow! Such a cool idea to go retro!
ReplyDeleteThat's a fun idea to go retro book covers, love these and I see what you mean about atmospheric.
ReplyDeleteThese covers are amazing, I kinda want to start a collection now! I've been hoping to visit the market in Bristol, UK, as there's a bookseller there that sells vintage paperbacks but, pandemic. I have no idea if the market is open again, they're not active online.
ReplyDeleteWhat an epic post. These all look amazing! Nancy Drew created my love for crime thrillers and mysteries. Go figure :)
ReplyDeleteHere's my TTT post.
Those classic Nancy Drew covers definitely screamed mystery
ReplyDeleteTruly amazing book covers. https://pmprescott.blogspot.com/2020/07/ttt-072820.html
ReplyDeleteThese are great. This is why I love illustrated book covers. I did read a lot of Nancy Drew books a while back but then I re-read some of them and they aren't as good as I remember them, guess that's how most people feel about certain books.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
Nice topic this week! Love these Nancy Drew book covers.

FUN! But then I do love Nancy Drew. :D
ReplyDeleteI loved Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys back in the day!
ReplyDeleteKaren @ For What It's Worth
My daughter was a Nancy Drew fan but really could tell the difference between writers. She liked the writing of the person who started it with Secret of the Old Clock and The Hidden Staircase best. Can you tell the difference?
ReplyDeleteHave a good week.
My Top Ten favorite books by month
I owned a couple of these as a kid and the covers are incredibly nostalgic.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great topic for this week! I love these covers, and I had many of them growing up. Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteI had to read the first of the Nancy Drew books for an English class and I really want to pick up more! I loved how easy to read they were.
ReplyDeleteNancy Drew has such classically cool covers. Thanks for sharing them with us!
ReplyDeleteMystery of 99steps, lol
ReplyDeleteGreat idea for a topic! Nancy Drew is great. Here's my TTT list this week.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I've read a couple of these. Love this list!
ReplyDeleteThese are great covers, I must read these books again!
ReplyDeleteI used to own so many of these as a kid. I wish I had kept them. I think the cover of The Hollow Oak one is my favorite. I was in a club and once a month I'd get two Nancy Drew books and the next month they'd rotate with two Hardy Boys one. Guess I've loved mysteries forever huh?
ReplyDeleteThe Hidden Staircase - classic!
ReplyDeleteNice choice of topic! My sister was the Nancy Drew mystery fan in our family! I preferred Trixie Belden, Encyclopedia Brown, and the Happy Hollisters, and didn't read many other mysteries as a child.
ReplyDeleteOoooh, Nancy Drew!! Have you tried to show? I got one episode in and kinda never went back. I should probably give it more of a shot but... it's so hard to.
ReplyDeleteMy Top Ten
My sister had some of these! I read them, but I don’t remember them very well. I love the vintage covers though.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I still don't know why I never got into Nancy Drew. I can only remember reading one. I loved The Hardy Boys and The Bobbsey Twins. 👍✨
ReplyDeleteThese covers are taking me back to my love for these books as a kid -- I'll never get tired of these covers!!
ReplyDeleteThese covers still look great after all these years!
ReplyDeleteI had that Hidden Staircase one! I got it because Claudia from The Baby-Sitters Club was obsessed with Nancy Drew and I wanted to be like her. I genuinely can't recall ever reading it, sadly. One of the leads of the new show was on a panel with Lindsey and Richard and it sounds kind of interesting!
ReplyDeleteI must have read all of these when I was a teen, including the Hardy Boys. Still remember some of the covers, too.
ReplyDeleteI love Nancy Drew! I read them all in elementary school - and I refuse to acknowledge any but those original yellow covers. Eleanor really likes the Nancy Clancy chapter books (if you are familiar with the Kindergarten-age Fancy Nancy, the Nancy Clancy books follow her as a third grader) and Nancy loved reading Nancy Drew in the stories. Naturally Eleanor decided she also needed to read Nancy Drew, so guess who got the first ten books for her birthday last month?!
