So last week Sophie at Beware of the Reader posted a quiz about which book to read for your personality type. I'm an INFP and my results were Love From A To Z and Girls With Sharp Sticks. I loved GwSS so naturally I was thrilled. Also, apparently INFP's are only 4% of the population? This quote in particular caught my attention. "Fantasy worlds in particular fascinate Mediators more than any other personality type." Okay, that seems like a very general statement, but I did find myself nodding as I've always loved fantasy. And, honestly, just like horoscopes- it all seems very accurate (although I imagine the personality stuff has a wee more science behind it, right?)

So what's your personality type? Have you taken the Myers- Briggs or some other test? I think it's fascinating. This site is kinda cool if you're an introvert- the only downside is I did get prompts to take a personalty quiz from them and I don't want to sign up for email stuff- so just ignore that if you're so inclined. And here's the quiz Sophie posted.

The World Cup continues! The US squeaked by a tough Spain earlier in the week, although not without controversy, and Friday they advanced after a killer game with France. I felt bad for France, they're such a good team, but Megan Rapinoe- wow.

Baldur's Gate update: I freed Branwen from her petrification at the Nashkel carnival and she's been a solid addition to the group. I also added Ajantis, a paladin, so I'm at full strength now in terms of party members. I've been ranging the Sword Coast doing side quests and whatnot, although last night I started Chapter Three. Since I've never actually finished the game (I think I played through Chapter Four), I'm really looking forward to entering the city of Baldur's Gate in Chapter Five and experiencing the wonders of the city.

  1. Can't say I have much interest in soccer, but I'm glad it was a great match and that the US team is doing great. Also love the art picks this week, I especially love the painted style of the later ones.

  2. I believe I'm an INTJ. It's been a long time since I took one of those tests though, so I might have gotten some letters mixed up. Definitely an introvert though.

  3. I'm INFP too :) I've taken the Myers-Briggs several times over the years and I always get that one.
I'm not a football fan, so I'm not watching the World Cup, but I enjoy hearing about the scores from friends.

  4. ISFJ-pretty accurate really! It fits with my Hufflepuff personality, my anti-social tendencies, my love of a quiet reading session and my career mostly in the medical sector!

  5. The guys at work are pretty obsessed with the World Cup, that's all they talk about all day!

  6. The Chain Of Gold cover is gorgeous!! You Owe Me A Murder sounds intriguing! Awesome images as always :)

  7. I have done the Meyers-Briggs test many times, and I always come up ISTJ - the inspector. I actually agree with it. All the cover reveals last week had my 2020 shelf exploding. It was wonderful!

  9. I want to take the quiz but an't find the post on her blog, do you remember what date it was posted??

  10. Those personality questionnaires never fit me because I have a personality disorder (schizotypal personality disorder) as well as some other things. It's funny to take them sometimes just to see how wrong they are about me.

  11. The MB personality types are scarily accurate. And they're not just broad statements. They're super specific about things when you really get into them. I'm an INFJ, and I remember the first time I took a quiz and read about my personality type, it was all these things I thought no one else experienced or understood or felt, and yet there it was! It really is fascinating. That cover for Chain of Gold is so pretty!

    1. Ok I didn't mean that "they're not broad statements" part to sound accusatory lol. I just meant, it's scary how accurate they are, even when they get into specifics.

  12. I might need to check out the personality type book thing. (And yes... hello stranger. I still think of you every time I watch something sci-fi-ish. Our Netflix is an entire season behind with The 100 by the way, but slowly we're catching up!)

  13. I'm not a football fan but I know our ladies are doing soooo much better than the England mens team.

Oh, and apparently I have a Consul personality ;-p I hope you have a great week and enjoy your reads.

  14. The Chain of Gold cover is gorgeous! Clare's books always have beautiful covers...

I've been trying to avoid the world cup but it's almost impossible. Apparently one of the semi's is USA vrs England. People are going nuts with excitement. Except me. I'm the one who smiles and nods politely when people start talking about it, lol.

  19. SQUEEE!!! So happy you had a great time doing last week's quizz Greg! If you love Avengers (I suspect that you do) then today's quizz should interest you as well LOL

  20. I got INTJ.T and my books did not appeal to me at all, also...this type makes up 0.8% of women? Oh I am rare

  21. I am INFP too! Lol. I guess I should read those books! Have a great week!

  22. I have been seeing the Recursion everywhere. I am looking forward to reading that book. I have got ESFP earlier on the Myers test. I am gonna give it another go yet again.

  23. I'm an ENFJ. I did that one blog post a couple of years ago where I took seven (10?) tests and a couple did come up ENFP. I'll have to take a look at some book suggestions. ๐Ÿ“š

I LOVE the ambient this week! ๐Ÿ˜

    And I love serpents! ๐Ÿ’ฆ

Have a wonderful new week! ๐ŸŒž

  24. INFJ-A Very Rare One of the books interests me, both of yours interests me..lol

  25. I did see Sophie's post and saved it so I could go do the test. Great pics this week. I especially love the sea creatures. Have a great week, Greg!

  26. I got ISFJ-T. Definitely an introvert, lol. One of my recommendations was Sorcery of Thorns, which I've been eyeing for a while, so this may be a sign that I need to pick it up, lolol! Fun quiz!

  27. I see tentacles and I ADORE Autumn Leaves. I'd love to have that one in a print. The test says I'm an IFSP-A. I think that's pretty accurate but the book recommendations are not something I'd want to read - bummer.

  28. I love that cover for Cassie Clare's novel! I need to take that test so I'm gonna go do that now.

  29. Hi Greg, having hearing aids makes listening to audiobooks a lot easier too because I don't have to download and upload it to iTunes and then transfer it to my iPod. Sorry for not commenting earlier because I did stop by. Anyway take care :)

  30. Hmm, Neither of the books recommended to me by my test results really appeal to me. My son has been playing Baldur’s Gate, we have the board game Betrayal at Baldurs Gate, have you played it?

    Have a great reading week

  31. Great post this week! I love the artwork and the cover for CHain of Golf looks stunning. I did a psichology minor at university so I had to take and give lots and lots of personality quizzes! I must say though, I did not get the same results in all of them. Sometimes it wasn't even remotely close but then again, I suppose it depends on how well thought the quiz is. Hope you have a good week!

  32. I haven't taken a Myers-Briggs or other personality test in years...I wonder if there would be differences.

Enjoy your week, and those images are awesome.

    Thanks for visiting my blog.

  33. I have taken the Myers-Briggs but don't recall what type I am. I wonder if there is a free online site to take it or something similar again. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  34. Dang! Just commented in Safari forgetting it won't let me comment on blogger! I am an INFJ so we share the first three letters. I had a peek at Sarah's book recommendations. Interesting. I am a six on the Enneagram, and that is an interesting paradigm. Have you done it?

    ReplyDelete
  35. I am also an INFP. I wonder how many readers/bloggers would fall under that type? I still need to read You Owe Me a Murder. Happy reading!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Oh that quiz is fun! It told me that I, an ENFJ, would enjoy To All the Boys I've Loved Before, and that is very true! Though I was a little disappointed that some other personality got Scythe hah. I have not been watching soccer but I am glad it is a thing. I read somewhere that the women's is now more popular than the men's, so that seems like progress!

Added Recursion to my list of course- and definitely read The Girl in Red as soon as you can. It's very quick, but so eerily plausible. I love the way it explored the apocalypse! AND it won't piss you off like After the Lights Go Out hahah.

  37. I love the cover for Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare! That book is on my wishlist :). I took the personality quiz back when I was in college. It's be interesting to see if my personality type has changed. Happy Reading Greg!

  38. I loooove seeing things about personality quizzes/types. I'm ENTJ but oh man that's so fun that you are an INFP--I'm not surprised to learn that it's a smaller percentage because I think you're the first person I've seen that is one. Also, obsessed with Chain of Gold's cover. CC always has some epic artwork for her books, it's so consuming and beautiful.

  39. You make me want to add art to my bulletin board! Hahaha And YAY Baldur's Gate progress sounds great. I hope you finish. I never seem to finish games... its too sad to say goodbye. :D
