This week is Top Ten Favorite Couples in Books. Just in time for Valentine's Day! 'Tis the season for love so let's take a look and see which bookish couples have floated my boat.

Luke and Leia - yes I know she's with Han and they're siblings - but I'm talking about the original plan- and I still stubbornly think Luke and Leia work better.
Aragorn and Arwen- perhaps a little less controversial?

Ellison and Anarchy
Despite all of the hype (and the cute book covers!), I haven't ever read a novel by Rainbow Rowell. Although I do like her novella in the Christmas collection I own. So, maybe... someday I'll read one of her novels. :)

DeleteI really need to try one of the Star Wars books. I'm not sure about Leia with Luke though LOL I definitely ship her with Han. I need to read Fangirl soon as well!

ReplyDeleteI haven't read The 100 books but I love Clarke and Bellamy in the TV show and seeings as they actually get together in the books, I'm sold on that one too.
I never read Fangirl but I love that cover. Will probably check this one out too. :)

DeleteNice picks! Have to admit I haven't read any of these books but am familiar with most of them! I do favor Clarke and Bellamy on the TV show but passed on the books after I read a few too many unhappy reviews.

They were. And yes- I know that's a bit of a controversial pick, but I actually didn't like them as siblings- I wanted to see them lead a new Republic as dignitary and Jedi. Oh well!
DeleteI didn't like the last minute "twist" that Luke and Leia are twins either. Not just cuz it made their relationship creepy, it was just so tacked on. I laos hate that Leia and Han broke up in the sequels.

ReplyDeleteI haven't read most of these books so I couldn't agree or disagree but luke and leia? I don't know, it just seems kind of boring even if they are not siblings and it's a bit of a cliche that heroes falls in love with the girl they rescued.

Kennick is...nice. I think to ship Luke and Leia you have to have seen the movies as they were released. I just added the last two books to my TBR based on the comic snippet and the name Anarchy.

ReplyDeleteObviously I love Bellarke (at least book Bellarke was canon? Sigh) and Katniss and Peeta! Katniss and Finnick is just no, because he was in love with Annie and that is what Mags sacrificed everything for so... yeah no. But they were a really good team in general! Alex and Ada I loved too! If I'd done a list, all 3 of those would have been on it for sure! And actually those are the only ones from your list I have read. Also seconding Wendy, read Chaos Walking YOU HAVE TKONLG for goodness sake.

ReplyDeleteLOL even if Luke and Leia weren't siblings, I still think Leia and Han work better. Gotta love the princess and the scoundrel trope, even though the new canon screwed that up royally.

ReplyDeleteI am reading Fangirl right now and I really am liking Levi's character! I also agree with Georgie and her man in A School for Unusual Girls. I am liking all of the couples in the series so far :) I am actually someone who was Team Gale.
